Backyard Bridal Shower Decor and DIY Ideas - Boho Pallet Table, Balloon Arch, & Backdrops.
I'm back. I wasn't gone that long though. Hello YouTube. Welcome or welcome back to my channel.
My name's Tina and I do videos every single week on DIY, lifestyle, weddings, lots of different
things. And if you're a subscriber, you know that I'm focusing a lot on my wedding content
right now. And if you're not a subscriber, subscribe and see all the wedding content
that I have coming up. And today's video is all about my bridal shower. I was heavily,
heavily inspired by kind of boho decor. I did a lot of Pinterest searching and I really fell
in love with the whole low table setup. And I'll talk a little bit about how I DIY that.
So I'm going to break this video down into five different categories and talk about all the
different DIYs. I tried to fit in almost every single thing that I did for the wedding or not
for the wedding, for the bridal shower. I had my sister, my sister-in-law and my cousin all help
plan this and make this happen. So if you're watching, thank you so much. They really made
it the perfect bridal shower ever. And it was so cute. So I'm just excited to talk about it
and show you guys what exactly we did to make it all happen. For reference, my bridal shower was
in my parents' backyard and that was just the easiest and most cost-effective way to do things,
especially since I wanted it to be outside. I didn't want to pay a lot and I had about 30 to
35 guests come. So that was going to be the perfect setting for it. And I knew people were
going to be in and out, so I wasn't too worried about the seating. The first thing that really
transformed my parents' backyard was obviously creating backdrops. It was the first thing guests
noticed when they walked to the backyard and it was this giant balloon arch garland. It was so
beautiful. I got it on Etsy. So I got a 10-foot garland from Etsy and it was just the perfect
length because you kind of have to drape it up and then sideways. I will list the seller that I used
down below, but she just had this beautiful rose gold and pink theme garland and it was about $55.
The price changes depending on how long the garland is, but I figured I would need at least
10 feet to cover that whole area. I honestly probably could have done 12 feet, but it worked
out fine. I also want to mention that to make life easier, we got an electric balloon pump from
Amazon. I honestly was just going to use it the one time and return it, but I ended up keeping it
because I know that with other parties and things coming up, I was going to use it more.
And lo and behold, my dad actually did use it for my wedding, so I'm really glad that I invested in
it. And in between the garland, we had these really cute balloons that said,
Bride to Be, and that was the main area that we were taking photos. It was just the perfect
backdrop for guests to take photos with me, with each other, and it was just so cute. Like, you
couldn't not love it. So that was backdrop number one, and then the second backdrop was behind our
dessert and drinks table. It was in this little nook in our backyard, and it fit perfectly within
this, like, wooden garden thing that my parents have. We used a...oh, I have a...I actually have it.
We used this giant curtain from Amazon, and then we used a different linen on top of the table,
and I also got these wisteria vines from Amazon. So literally that whole backdrop was on Amazon,
and it was just so cute. It made the food look so yummy, and it was just the perfect girly touch
to add a little bit of sparkle to our food table for people to get drinks and get desserts and just
mingle, and I loved how it turned out. It was just so, so cute. Second thing that I want to talk about
is table settings. So this was kind of the star of the show. I think it's tied with the balloon arch,
but we created this palette table that was really, really low, and actually my brother made it. I
didn't make it, so thank you so much to my brother for making that, but I basically got 10 palettes
for free from my brother-in-law. He works for a company. They just had a whole bunch of palettes,
so he dropped it off at my place, and if you are looking for free palettes to do this same exact
project, I don't want to suggest that you steal them, but if they're free, go right ahead, but I've
seen them definitely in the back of warehouses and loading docks and stuff like that, so just keep
your eyes out. I ended up using 9, and we basically got some extra wood to put on top to make sure
that it was all flat and that there were no spaces in between each one of the wooden planks, and I
went to Home Depot. I got a giant piece of plywood, and I had them cut it all down, so it was a lot
easier for us to just go home, sand it, and nail it, and when I say us, I also mean my brother
because I did not do any of the work, and what's really nice about that is since we're not going
to reuse that, I ended up selling it on Facebook Marketplace, and I basically got the money back
that I bought for materials from Home Depot and a little bit more, so that was really nice, and
someone else got to use it for another party, so I feel like that's just so awesome that people are
just recycling, reusing, and making their parties so fabulous with secondhand decor, and to dress
the table up, luckily my parents already had these carpets, and they had a lot of like cushions and
stuff like that, so I really did not have to buy anything new. I just layered it all on top of each
other and tried to kind of have that Moroccan look to it. It was honestly so much fun, oh sorry, and it
was just so much fun and a little bit different, and it fits so many people around the table.
Everyone was just having such a good time. A bunch of my aunts came, and they were like
really excited to sit down at that table, so I'm really, really happy that I just took the leap
and actually did a Pinterest project, and I know that you could do the same thing too if you're
looking for a boho table. Go with free palettes and go with plywood. Third thing that I DIYed was
obviously my flowers. I mentioned in a previous video about my flower centerpieces that I really
took this opportunity to learn and practice my flower design skills, so I made a bigger one for
my centerpiece of that boho table, and then I made a couple little arrangements onto my dessert and
drink table, and they were just the cutest ever, but what was nice was that my birthday was actually
that same week, so I got a beautiful bouquet, and instead of just letting it sit in my house, I
repurposed the bouquet and put it at my bridal shower so more people can appreciate how beautiful
it was, and along with those flowers, I picked up some flowers from Trader Joe's, and they had these
beautiful peonies. Peonies are so beautiful, especially in spring and summer, and they were
just like so perfect. I wish I could find peonies like that right now, but obviously have to wait a
couple more months, but yeah, they just made me so happy, and I'm so glad that I did that because it
really did help me build up my skill to make flowers for my wedding. Next category of things I
want to talk about are food items, and a lot of the things that I made for my food items were the
signs, and I know I talked about these signs in a previous video, but I made a bunch of other signs
for my bridal shower that weren't so calligraphy heavy, and the first one was this cute one that I
made for our menu, and as you can see on here, I just made this on Canva. I listed out exactly what
every single item was so like people weren't confused about what was in front of them, especially
since I had Greek food catered, I wanted everyone to know exactly what was in each item of food, so I
had the name of the food as well as a little bit of a description, and then I obviously added our
hashtag. I put that everywhere, and people were using it. I feel like this is a forgotten detail
that people do, but if you're spending so much time coming up with a cute hashtag, make sure you
put it everywhere so more of your guests use it, so obviously had to have happily, my last name, ever
Macter, my husband's last name, Mac. I love our hashtag. Oh, that was loud. Second thing were obviously
little labels for each item. These were from Michael's. They are chalkboard, and they were very
minimal. They were also very cheap, but just a nice way to kind of just label your food, and we also
had a little mimosa bar, so I made a little menu for that. I'll insert a picture because I don't
have it for some reason, and for the crates that the margaritas and the mimosas were sitting on
top of, I made sure I labeled those two in chalk marker, and what was important to me was to have
all those little personal touches within the bridal shower, so anywhere that I could write
and label things, I took the opportunity to do so. Also wanted to shout out our DIY food that we had,
and one of them was a naked cake that my friend Kathy made. She used this cute cake topper that I
got from Target. This cake topper was only three dollars, I think, at Target, and it was just so cute.
I still have it because I can honestly probably use this for someone else's party, and then also
my cousin Jenny, she made cake pops, and I was just really appreciative that they did those two items.
They were so cute and so delicious, so thank you guys for making those. Just wanted to mention it
very quickly, and then the last thing that I DIY'd were my party favors, and I mentioned this before
in my Amazon video, but I had these really beautiful bottle openers, and they were only about
a dollar each. They're very good quality. I bought 50 of them, so they came all wrapped up in this
cute little tag, and we basically took each one of these and placed it within a plastic champagne
glass, and then what I did was I wrote everyone's name in calligraphy, so whenever people were
pouring drinks, they knew exactly which ones was theirs, and I thought that was just a cute way to
have a place card with people's names on it, but it was also very functional, so no one would mix
up their drinks. Also, I put in these cute little diamond rings, and I got these from Amazon. Let's
see if it'll focus, and these little rings were just so cute. Everyone was putting them on, but
basically it was for the, what is it, like the, but it was one of the games that we were playing, and
you couldn't say the word bride or dress. It was just so cute because everyone was like putting
them on and posing with them, so I would also highly recommend these from Amazon. It was just a
cute little added touch. So that was everything that I DIY'd for my bridal shower. It honestly was
such a fun day, and I love looking back at the pictures because it was such a great time with my
friends and family, and I'm just so grateful to everyone who came, and I can't wait for the other
women in my life to have a bridal shower because then I'll probably whip up some of these DIYs that
I did for mine, do it for theirs. I just feel like the months that are leading up to your wedding,
like all of your friends and family from all different aspects of your life really mesh
together, and it was just such a special time, so I really hope that you guys all have the same
experience with your bridal showers and all the little festivities before your wedding. With that
being said, I wish you guys the best of luck with planning out your bridal showers, and if you have
