Today's just really about announcing what I've got coming up.
Hello and welcome to season two of Training for A, and well what are we going to be doing this
time? Well this is Training for A ridiculous crazy mountain ultra trail race that I've got coming up
in February. It is called Transgran Canaria out in the Canary Islands and yeah it is 128 kilometers
long. Probably doesn't seem that bad for some of the things I've done but the killer is seven and
a half thousand meters of elevation. I'll put what that is in feet up on the screen, I'm never sure
but it's epic, it's huge, ridiculous race, never gonna have done anything quite that severe before
so all of this little series we're going to be doing lots of how we train for that, gym work
out in the hills, lots of ridiculous climbing to do and yeah look this is the kind of stuff I'm
going to be doing up and down places like this, getting in a real big amount of elevation to be
able to cope for that as we go on this epic adventure to try and do you know crazy crazy
things and accomplish some big dreams. Right I'm out a little run today so we'll have a little
catch-up as we go along and I'll see you in a bit. Right guys so how on earth are we going to do this
massive challenge to get seven and a half thousand meters of climbing in over the race? Well we're
gonna have to spend a lot of time up in the hills which for me is not that easy, don't live in the
mountains so we'll be coming to places like we're around today. Whoa up at, if you know this, this is
Leith Hill down in the Surrey Hills, the highest point in the south of the UK so a lot of time here
getting burnt in and yet I'll be camping out here a lot over the coming few months over Christmas.
Right let's carry on with the run and see how we're going to do getting that 600 meters in today.
So what I really want to focus on in this little mini series is how you can live
in the centre of one of the biggest cities in the world, London, very flat place really and try
hopefully, fingers crossed, be competitive out in the mountains and yeah we'll see how we get on. For
me I haven't really had any success so far, all of my success has come from the roads so I'll be
learning as we go along and getting in as much elevation, a lot of strength work and really
giving it my all. I'd like to sort of think I can get about a top 50 place in Transgrancanaria,
that's going to be the goal, let's see if that's really going to be possible as we go along.
What I want to bring you in this little series is everything you can do to get out and be
competitive in the mountains so I'm going to be learning as we go along. Myself I just want to
take you guys through that experience and pass on as much knowledge as I possibly can so
you can be competitive out in very hilly environments and the mountains and the lakes
on the fells wherever you want to be competitive. Thanks guys for following along, today's just
really about announcing what I've got coming up, the plans and the goals for early 2019
and yeah announcing this new little mini series to see how well and how competitive we'll be.
I'm hoping to film all the race as well so that'll be the final episode
of this series and hopefully get about six or seven videos out there all following along with
the training and what we've got going on so yeah very difficult festive season and things to get
training in as well. So as usual guys thank you so so much for following along on this crazy
journey, oh this terrain's a bit difficult here, and really appreciate the support the channel's
getting. If you like this kind of video a thumbs up would be really great, let me know what you
think of it, if you've got any questions about trail running, what type of stuff you want to
see me doing in my training and yeah just let me know down in the comments below what's going with
you. If you're new to the channel subscribe and yeah really enjoy the support and the love and
everything we've got going on with the channel so thank you so so much. Right I'm going to finish
this run off and I'll see you out the trails in the next one!
you
