Right guys, first of all the disclaimer. This video is not DJ related except for the bits of kit
that are in the video. So, I'm on my way last Sunday to Aberystwyth to join in with a club
ride. I go most Sundays, I go road cycling with a club and I listen to the radio. Now,
I haven't listened to the news, looked at a newspaper or read any form of news in a very
long time because I don't want my mind subjected to what I call crap. But it just so happens
that while I was listening to the radio the news came on and before I could turn the news off
I heard the reporter mention about some kind of bombing somewhere and six or seven people dying.
Now, I haven't heard the news for a very long time. Now, let's just think about that for a
second. Let's go back to when you're in school or maybe you're down the pub or maybe even more so.
I suppose this could be the analogy, it could be a little bit to do with DJing. Let's imagine you're
going to a record shop and you're ready to buy that new release and you're desperate to be the
first person to get that new release and once you've got that new release you're proud to tell
everyone you've got that new release. On the other hand, you're at school and someone's fallen over
and cut themselves outside. You're desperate to tell everyone and it's almost as though you get
a buzz from telling those people and the buzz is because they heard it from you first.
Now, I relate now back and I'd like to talk now about this small tiny snippet of news that I heard
which to be quite honest I wish I bloody well hadn't. But the presenter giving that information
I felt the way they put it over it was almost as though they were pleased to say that these people
had been killed. It was almost as though they were happy to have that at the beginning of the news.
It's almost as though, wow, look what I can tell people. Now, bear that in mind. Also bear in mind
that this was a Sunday morning about eight o'clock. People have just woken up, it's a Sunday
and you turn the radio on and you get bad news. So is that the right thing to do? Well it isn't
but then again the system wants that because they want you to be woken up with bad depressing
bunches of ----. I'm not saying of course that people dying is crap. What I am saying
is that that information they're giving to you is wrong. They're doing it in the wrong way
completely. Now that's the first part of the video. The second part is about you and what
you can do. You are a free soul. Your mind is free. Your mind is allowed to do what it wants to do.
If you think about it, your body, whether you are an able-bodied person or perhaps you're in
a wheelchair or perhaps you can't move around, if you do have some form of being able to move
you are what's known as a free spirit and the system does not want you to be a free spirit.
The system wants to bog you down with crap and ---- from every single direction.
Now what I would like you to do is something that I'm doing. On the weekend if I'm not working
on a Sunday I will go out and I will enjoy myself. I will partake in a bike ride with
whether it be one person or ten and we may go 20 miles, we may do 70 miles. Now I'm not telling
you to go and do a bike ride, of course not, that's ridiculous, but what I am saying is that
you need to look at you now and look at your routine during the week. Is it a set routine?
Just look back. Maybe today start a diary and write in your diary what you do from day one
up to day seven. Do that for a couple of months and then go back that couple of months. Are you
sort of doing the same thing over and over and over again? Is that getting a little bit boring?
Why not change what you're doing? Do something different, do something unique, something you
haven't done because guess what? You're a free spirit and you can do something new. You can do
something different. Instead of, as I've said before, getting out the front door and turning
left, turn right for a change. Bear that in mind, practice and enjoy. Thank you. I'm sorry for
spitting, I've just had some food.
