Starting the day at work in a productive way will set the tone for the rest of the day. How do you start your day?
When you arrive at work and you sit at your desk,
what is the first thing that you do?
And I mean by that, what is the first work-related thing that you do?
That's not a rhetorical question.
I really expect an answer.
Let me know in the comments below.
Just take a couple seconds.
I can give you a little bit more time if you want.
More?
Okay.
I'm just gonna enjoy my good coffee in the meantime.
You have time for coffee?
Hey, bonjour.
I'm Hugo and I help busy professionals be more productive and get back in
control of their own time.
Every morning when checking in at work,
what most people do is opening emails.
One of the reasons why we just go to emails is that we don't know how to
kick off our day.
What are the first tasks that we need to do in order to kick off our day?
And the fact that you coming to work not knowing what are the first tasks
makes you need to take a decision.
The decision of what do I need to get done?
What do I need to start with?
And that creates frictions and productive time leading to the path of
least resistance checking emails.
So how to remove this friction and the need for this decision first thing in
the morning?
My suggestion and that's only my suggestion is to create your to-do of
the day.
The day before before you leave just grab a sticky notes and write down the
very first thing that we will need to work on first thing in the morning the
day after and if you have to just put the sticky note on your monitor screen
so that you don't forget.
Oh and best thing it works perfectly on Friday nights too.
If you haven't told me yet,
I'm still expecting an answer by the way.
What is the first thing that you do every morning when you check in at work?
Please let me know in the comments below.
