Starts a new day We are on the fifth or sixth day of the trip I'm already getting lost
A little We are now on the ferry that will take us to the next destination which is
It's to the island of Milos We are about to leave Crete which is the island we have behind us
And well just to say that we returned the car at Heracleon Airport whic
It's where we rented it and we spent the night here This is the city of Heracleon
This one I have here behind There is a lot to see in Heracleon there are quite a few fortresses
walls somewhat like what happened in Hania Heracleon also has many walls it has fortresses
It has some ancient palaces The city of Knossos is here to the south about five
ten minutes which is one of the oldest cities in Greece Well anyway I'll show you
I will tell you all about it I hope we can dedicate a day to the return because we will come back here
Just say that yesterday look the planes flew over here I don't know if he'll see them
There it goes Because the airport is nearby Nothing just saying that we left the car at the
We came from Heracleon airport to the hotel we had in the city We wanted to
Let's take a taxi because we had all our suitcases it was late and that's it And we said well
We got more comfortable and took a taxi We went to the terminal because it's next to where
The cars and we take a taxi and the guy says "Where are you going " And we tell Heracleón
o the city And the uncle starts muttering in Greek and says hey why not
Are you taking the bus It only costs one euro to the city and doesn't take long And me like
But let's see aren't you a taxi driver Then take us where we tell you No that's not your job I mean
Imagine that everyone instead of taking a taxi took the bus You wouldn't have a profession would you
So it seems that for him it's not convenient to bring people to the city because it will cost him
I don't know maybe he has to wait a long time at the airport taxi stand for a ride
It didn't come out that way I don't know but come on it amused me because he said that Then the guy
always angry muttering in Greek surely insulting us and our family
family Nothing we already slept at the hotel I didn't record anything because we just went out for a walk
We took the route along the walls but it was already too late What we ended up doing was going to have dinner at a place
It was very good it was called Dish It's a place located next to a very well-known church
From here in Heraklion ancient church that can be visited And it's a place as well as modern
With such a very relaxed atmosphere The truth is it's really good We ate like a bunch of pitas with
chicken with a sauce well some cajun spices and a chicken a breast of chicke
Chicken with sauce like gravy and mashed potatoes They were very good and the truth is that everything was delicious
The food was super tasty and for dessert a small exotic fruit tart with ice cream
Caramelized chocolate Everything was amazing The problem was that weren't very hungry
We ended up eating until were full but everything was super super good So I recommend this place
The Dish If you want to try something like that it also has a lot of Greek food but make it like that
This is a more modern roll since you have that option Well I'm going on too long sorry
But also you know we're going to the ferry that will take us to Milos
It's five hours from here from Crete It's practically 10 in the morning now
It's when he comes out and we'll be there at 3 in the afternoon Then well these five
It was time to rest a bit here on the ferry and take in the views from here from the deck
And nothing else just to mention that at least in 2021 what you need to enter is one hand
They asked us first the security agent asked us for the COVID certificate
vaccination that we have both doses and if not antigen or PCR test etc After that
You are asked to fill out some forms which they send you when you take the ferry ticket
If you pick them up in person they send you some forms to fill out saying that you cannot
you have had COVID in the last few days you have not been close to people who have
fected etc This form is also mandatory Then the person themselves
The ferry ticket which will take you to your destination Then there are three filters you have
What do you have those three things I'm saying maybe next year you'll be seeing this in the I don't know in 2023 and already
There's no need for any of that Just the ticket is enough But as of today in 2021 in August
In 2021 those three things are still needed except for the form to fill out which you have
Hand it over The COVID vaccination certificate or the test along with the ferry ticket
To take you to your destination you can show it on your phone But the other one you have to
Hand it in by hand so if you do it at home you have to print it out fill it out and submit it
Hand it over here We have already arrived at the island of Milos which is a very small island here
Near roughly near Santorini north of Crete That's been five hours by ferry
We have arrived and went directly to the place where we will stay for the next three
Nights which are Tina's Apartments Tina's Apartments which are actually quite good
It's a little small apartment with a small fire a small kitchen and enough space
There are air-conditioned rooms beds a shower we don't need anything else Then according to how we left things
We went to get the car the car we rented these days The company with the
We have rented from Melian's Cars which I had read in some blogs recommended this company
In concrete terms they have given us a Fiat Panda which is a bit of an off-road vehicle though not entirely but it's close enough
Okay it's a bit it has better traction than a utility vehicle So we rented a
The car is there for three days and then the boy told us he had come to pick us up at the ferry tha
She had come with my name to the ferry terminal to pick us up I honestly didn't know about it
He fixed it and asked forgiveness I didn't know were supposed to go get him but anyway then if
you rent or book a car with this company I think many of these are
Milos and many other islands because I had already seen it in Mykonos I think when I was there before
e years this type of companies and many hotels will pick you up If they are far from the port they will
They will go to look for it so they have free shipping so check or ask if they can do it for you
Drive And nothing else we took the car and already started exploring the island As I was saying Milos is no
Una isla muy grande tiene muchos puntos para visitar tiene bastantes playas que no so
Many of them are small beaches of fishing villages small ones like in other places
some are sandy others are rocky there is a little of everything but here apart from the
beaches it is also very well known for the small fishing villages the white houses now more turning into a certain style
what is expected in Santorini Mykonos Paxos all these islands have a rather distinctive architecture
Similar Well we have come now to start the visit we wanted to go to a point that was w
There were quite a few people around for the time of day so we'll probably try to go tomorrow in the morning
We will get up early for that and we have come to a small town in the northeast called Poland
Here we came to eat went straight to eat because were starving because we hadn't eaten
We had eaten since the morning We went to a restaurant called James Smith and the
It's good if you're looking for some meat and such the truth is that it's very good there We have
I ate some pork skewers that are very tasty with potatoes and then also a plate of pasta
Carbonara and then a chocolate soufflé for dessert The truth is everything is very very good and nothing else
And now we've taken a tour of Poland this little village you know a village just like that
All of this area a very small village with a small beach which is very tiny
But anyway there's not many people now so it's quite good and has very nice views
of the different little houses in this area So it's recommended as a point to
Visit and now we have been around here for a while and what we will do is vis
A couple more points to the northeast of the island and then once we visit another one
A small town nearby so we will probably start moving more towards the western area
Because it's also 6 o'clock in the evening so the night is also approaching
It will be a much better place to watch the sunset with little villages we see around
We have come here to Klima a small fishing village in this part of the northwest
from the island of Milos and it's a very very small village To come here you have to go dow
A winding single-lane road so you have to go down carefully and arrive
a parking lot that later in the evening tends to fill up with quite a lot of people coming to see the
It's a nice place to take photos and such because it's very characteristic because this little town is like that
against the sea and is full of colorful little houses held by wooden stakes and that's the tru
It's really really beautiful so it's definitely worth coming by at some point
day Dusk has that special part where colors shine with the last rays
It's beautiful during the day but it's worth it no matter when you come
So now we're going to take some quick photos around here and then head back again
Nighttime stroll We are ending the day in Adamantas which is the port
The town with the harbor where all the ferries dock and where most people stay
70-80% of the people staying in Milos stay here and it's not that much so it's not very busy
Large and basically it's just restaurants and souvenir shops and not much more then
It's okay to take a little walk at night but I wouldn't spend too much time on it It's a
A good place to stay because it's right in the middle of the way it's like halfway there
From many of the places to visit There are other sites that may be more beautiful to stay at
But the price also goes up as if you were staying in Plaka or even in Clima where we spent the night
Today you can stay in those colorful little houses I don't know how much it will cost but it's probably going to be expensive
Very expensive so this area is also one of the most affordable and
where all the car motorcycle and other rental companies are so well
So it's a good spot for neurology so nothing else
We'll take one more little walk around here have a drink and wrap up the day for now
