Steve's Big Announcement!

Hi, my name is Steve Faulkner. Welcome to Real Magic Review and this is a special announcement. Indulge me, please. I know that at the beginning of every review I talk or used to talk about cardmagiccourse.com. Well, there's a reason why I've been away. I haven't done a review for a couple of weeks. I haven't done a live stream. Well, one of those reasons is COVID. I'm just at the end of it and that's been truly horrible, to be honest. But I'm feeling all happy now because I'm out the house for the first time today. But the other reason is for weeks and years I've been developing what is now onlinemagic.co. Card Magic Course was my baby from 2013. I built this huge course, 500 videos, live sessions every week and realized that I wanted to do so much more than card magic. And I was starting to put more non-card magic on there. The live sessions were increasingly non-card magic. There are 86 at the time of now. That's 86 hours plus of just the live sessions plus the 400 and something videos on there at the moment and 28 courses. So onlinemagic.co is the same. If you're already a member of cardmagiccourse.com, your login is the same. The content at the moment is the same. I'm now adding more content because this is going to be my full-time job pretty much. I'm still going to perform a little bit, but this is what I'm putting the next at least year or two into just so I can get it to where I want to get it, just to create this huge resource with other people, guest lecturers and all kind of stuff. So the big difference is I used to have two memberships, this course. $9.99 was for the recorded content and for $22.99 you could attend the live sessions and the community. Now it's one membership. If you're already paying $22.99, don't worry. I'm going to send you out an email saying that you can basically cancel and rejoin for your $9.99, but I'm really trying to build a community. The lovely thing about this, it's a safe place for people to try out stuff with no judgment. I always show work in progress stuff, stuff that I haven't quite got nailed so people can learn along with me. And the community has just become this lovely, warm group of people that I'm very proud of. It's like hanging out with a group of friends every week. So you will get that for your $9.99 a month. If you want to come and turn your camera off if you're a bit intimidated by that and just observe a Zoom session, it's such a wonderful way to learn, to watch magicians of all levels talk about magic and the performance of magic. And I'm happy to share everything by the way on this course. I share not just the tricks and the moves, but also my experiences of performing, the business side of it, everything. It's kind of like I can't take this stuff with me. Not that I'm planning on going anywhere yet, but really this is my focus now, to share everything I've learned and of course continue to learn and bring other magicians in to share. Learning sleight of hand magic completely changed my life, not only because it got me all around the world and gave me the ability to amaze people, because most people do think it is a very cool thing to be able to do, but also just the sheer joy of learning this wonderful craft. So it used to be very difficult to learn and not having the internet didn't help, but now in some ways it's even more difficult because there is so much content now, much of which is being taught by people who have never really gone out there and performed. It's actually really, really difficult to find someone to teach you sleight of hand magic that's been there, done it and spent years studying and researching and performing sleight of hand magic. So because of this a few years ago, because I've dedicated the majority of my life to learning, researching and performing close-up magic, I would dedicate the rest of it to teaching everything I know. There are currently over 500 recorded videos on this course with new content added every single month and most weeks. So there are also our regular live sessions where we have guest lecturers, magicians from all over the world sharing their ideas and also where you can share your progress in a safe and respectful space or learn from the progress of others. Now I really struggled learning until I found the right guidance, so let me be your mentor. Also what I'd like you to do, I've created a Facebook page and an Instagram page. I do not want these to be just marketing exercises for the course. Now if you go on the Real Magic Review page, it's just me posting the stuff which is great just to let you know, but this isn't going to be that. If you look at the posts on both of those onlinemagic.co course pages at the moment, what I'm trying to do is create content that's going to appeal to people and be useful to people even if you aren't a member of the course. Ever since I attended his magic show in Sheffield over 10 years ago, I've been a huge fan. Yay, thanks Mark. His YouTube channel is a constant source of good value and knowledge, lovely.
