Business Meeting to Approve New Subcommittee Assignments

Healthy and doing well. We're meeting this morning as a full committee to conduct committee business to approve new committee assignments. At this time I'd like to welcome Ms. Sheila Shafilis McCormick, Florida's 20th district to the committee. She's a lawyer and CEO of the family business of a home health care company. Welcome Ms. Shafilis McCormick. Is she here? Yes I am. Okay there she is. I'd ask unanimous consent that she be appointed to subcommittee on early childhood elementary and secondary education and the subcommittee on workforce protections. So moved. Second. Second. Without objection so ordered. Does the ranking member wish to be recognized? Yes Mr. Chairman I do and I want to welcome Mr. Shafilis McCormick to the committee. Also she and I had a chance to chat on the floor and I'm looking forward to an opportunity to talk with her at some length sometime. I also ask unanimous consent that Dr. Miller Meeks of Iowa be appointed as ranking member of the subcommittee on higher education and workforce investment. Is there any objection? I'm very excited to do the work that we have to do to better our country and our community and I look forward to working with everyone. Thank you and does our new ranking member Ms. Miller Meeks have anything to say?
