Today I am continuing to plant out my newly created garden border with the view of adding lots of summer colour.
Those of you who have been following my progress recently will have seen that I have dug away quite a lot of my grass and created new borders, so now I need to full them.
Today I am running in and out in between the rain showers, grabbing the opportunity when I can! I have planted a beautiful fuschia to grow up my obelisk, some beautiful dahlias, peonies, salvia hot lips and a gorgeous nandina, all of which should add some wonderful colour in the months ahead.

Hi there everyone, I'm just trying to fill out this new bed a little bit and it's been
raining all weekend.
It's Saturday today but it's rained on and off all day so I went out plant shopping instead
to a wonderful place called Plant Perfections which has just opened up in Battlesbridge.
I have to admit that I got lost in Battlesbridge which is about a 20 minute drive away but
not somewhere I'm familiar with, a lot of windy country lanes but eventually I found
it and I didn't really have much of a thought in my mind of what I wanted, I just saw things
there and of course I always go by price as well, rightly or wrongly.
So I just picked up a few things, came home, it rained, it stopped raining, we've got rain
expected in about 20 minutes and there's mosquitoes everywhere so I must rush.
So yes, I have some little dahlias here, little dahlia plants, I've got a beautiful fuchsia
which I already had this obelisk here so I was looking for something that I could put
in there and I think that's gorgeous, that was only £4 which I thought was a bargain.
Plant Perfections have deals of the week so if you get down there quick.
I've got three peonies, I've never had peonies, my friend Jean has beautiful peonies, she's
always telling me to get some so now Jean I have three, I have a red one, I have a pink
one and I have a white one and the red one is here, they will grow maybe about this high,
not quite sure actually, about that high and then I put another one here, I think it was
the pink one and then just there, over there is the other one, what else did I plant?
Ah yes, a gorgeous nandina, a nandina there, I love it for its beautiful colours and I have a nandina up there
which I've had for a couple of years and it's always been gorgeous.
Oh yes and I've also planted a little salvia hotlips, I love salvia hotlips, really beautiful
and that will get this big, fill out this whole area, I did have some over there by
the fountain, I had three last year and they looked beautiful so, love them.
So I think that's all I did, it's going to rain but I'm eventually or gradually filling
this area out and of course I have got some bulbs so really just finding things, dotting
them in, I do have some more plants but it is going to rain again, it's been raining
on and off all day so at least I've managed to do this, I feel like I've accomplished
something and mosquitoes are out now so I need to go in otherwise I will get completely
bitten but yes that's what I've been doing today and at least I've done something, need
to water them in quickly, even though it's raining I will give them a water.
So that's it from me for today, hope that it's nice tomorrow, it's Sunday tomorrow,
let's hope I can do something else because I look forward to the weekend because I work
all week and then when it's raining it's rather disappointing but I expect you all feel the
same so that's just life and you have to grab the opportunities while you can.
So that's it from me, thank you so much for joining me, I'm Jeanette, I am The Enthusiastic
Gardener and I will see you again soon, take care now, bye!
