What's going on lads, today I've got a couple of little bits to do, that includes spraying
my side skirts, gloss black, as well as I've got these little inserts which are going to
go on the seats.
They didn't come with any sticky pads or anything so we're going to have to make shift something
with that, maybe we can use glue or something similar.
But yeah, I'm going to go ahead and drive to the garage now, get all the cars out, get
this in there, give the side skirts a quick wipe down, maybe a little bit of a sand down
with some wet sandpaper and then we'll go from there.
I know I've already got quite a lot of sandpaper and stuff from the last thing I sprayed which
I did show on the channel and I also got some more paint as well, as well as some masking
tape and what I'm going to do, basically I'm not going to take the side skirts off the
car, I'm actually going to be spraying them on the car which should be ok.
I'm just going to get loads of newspaper, loads of tape and make sure that I do it properly.
So yeah, ok, so I've gone ahead, I've just got the car inside the garage and the first
thing I'm going to do is basically put these little GTI emblem things on the seats, just
because it is the easiest thing to do and that looks pretty sick.
Now obviously they're not got any sticky pads or anything, they actually are like metal
like, they're actually pretty solid.
So if I put that in that light, looks spot on, I'm just going to go ahead and get some
glue and probably glue this side, glue that side and then just go ahead and put that in
and yeah, I think that will be pretty easy.
So I've got some glue, one of these will do, this one looks full, so I'll go ahead and
use this one.
So I'll quickly glue that in and I'll go ahead and get back to you.
Ok, so I've just glued this one panel in and it is actually proper solid so yeah, I'm really
happy with that, it actually looks really nice, it goes really well with the seat and
this bottom piece here, it looks really good.
So I'm going to go ahead and quickly put that other one in on the other side and then we're
going to go ahead and start cleaning up these side skirts so I can go ahead and start getting
them sprayed.
I do need to start putting the newspaper and everything on the car as well, so yeah, I'll
get that done.
But first things first, I'll get that side done.
Ok, so I've got some newspaper, I've also got some masking tape, so I'm going to quickly
get the quick detailer and get a microfiber cloth and just quickly wipe down these side
skirts and then I'll start taping them up around them, right up to the edge of them
and then I'm going to get the newspaper and newspaper the whole side of the car and yeah.
Ok lads, so I've just finished basically patching all the side up, so all that is visible is
just the side skirts and I made sure there's no like cracks or anything inside the newspaper
so we definitely, hopefully should not get any over spray.
I might put some newspaper on the floor even though this floor is already a bit messy but
in case, just in case there's going to be one big black patch on the floor it might
be a bit better to put some cloths down or something.
So what I'm going to go ahead and do is I'm going to start putting the plastic primer
on and then whilst that's drying I'm going to go ahead and go to the other side and start
putting the masking tape and newspaper on the other side so yeah I'll come back to you
when the plastic primer has dried on this side.
Ok lads, so jump a bit, basically I lacquered, sorry not lacquered, I primed the side skirt
and I've sprayed the side skirt now so it's looking pretty good.
I haven't sprayed the other side yet because I wanted to get that on camera so I've done
about five coats now on this side, I think I'll do another one and then I'll start leaving
it to dry and then get the lacquer on.
So this side is all ready to go, I'm going to go ahead and start spraying this side so
I can get a couple of coats on this and then it's just a waiting game, I'm waiting for
it to dry.
Ok lads, so I've just finished putting the clear lacquer on this side of the car, I've
given it about five coats of lacquer now so I'm going to go ahead and start taking off
all this newspaper, all the tape, maybe I'll do it in five more minutes so that it's definitely
dry and then I'll take it all off and then go ahead and show you what it looks like.
The other side I'm still applying the black spray paint so that might be a bit longer
but yeah, I'm going to go ahead and wait for this to dry and then quickly take off all
this tape.
Ok so I've just taken off all the paper and to be honest, I know it's never going to
be like the Golf Edition 30s because their panels are smooth and these ones come just
a little bit bumpy so considering these have that little effect on them, they've actually
come out really really nice and I love how they look so yeah they definitely have a good
shine on them and yeah I'm actually pretty pleased with them, I think I'll just keep
them like this, I don't plan on changing them in the future but when we're a bit lower this
will definitely stand out a bit more but so far I'll run you guys through it, what
it looked like, so yeah, this is definitely gloss black but obviously it's not as glossy
as the paint would be like an Edition 30 but it's definitely a lot blacker than it was
and it does have a little bit of reflection, yeah I mean I'm happy with it anyway and we've
still done this today as well which looks like it's dried which looks pretty damn fresh
so yeah I'm gonna go ahead and get the lacquer on this side, get the lacquer on this side
done and then just take the newspaper off and I'll drive it outside and that's where
we'll definitely see the reflection outside better than the inside so yeah I'll get back
to you. I've just pulled the car out of the garage now and I can safely say that these
look a lot better than what they used to be, so yeah I'll definitely recommend that if
you guys have one of these and you're thinking about either changing the side skirts or painting
them, gloss black is definitely the way to go especially if it's a black GTI then that's how
they look and I can honestly say it looks a hell of a lot better and there's no over spray or
anything so great, great success. So I'm gonna go ahead and end the video here, if you guys

do in the future videos and yeah all my Facebook and Instagram and everything is all in the
