Enjoy my first ever catch on the center pin. I've spent multiple full days just trying to learn how to use this thing, let alone catch the absolute BRUTE we caught in this video. Every spot I fished in this video was found through Google Earth and I would encourage you guys to try using the same approach if you're going to try fishing unknown spots in your area. Anyways, I appreciate all the love on these fishing videos I truly love making these.. enjoy.
I'll be completely honest with you guys.
I came here yesterday and I slipped and I fell down this entire freaking hill.
I would love if that didn't happen this time, please.
Oh, dude, I'm losing my footing already.
Okay.
the entire thing.
Operation Ninja.
Operation Ninja mode.
Crap.
I don't want to fall.
Bro, I would die.
I would literally die if I fell.
Look at that.
You kidding me?
We have a Okuma Aventa center pin rail going to an Echo Ion XL 10 foot 7 weight fly rod
and we are going to have 12 pound monofilament high visibility line.
This isn't a necessity, but you can kind of see where your drifts are going a little bit
better and you can mend your line a little bit easier, especially on those windier days.
We've got that coming down to a 15 gram blood run float.
We got size, I think it's seven or five split shot.
I do know that they weigh about 2.24 grams each.
So what we're trying to do here is we're trying to match the weight to at least the weight
of the float or just below.
So right here is about nine grams, I would say.
And we're going to be tying it to an 18 inch leader.
This leader is going to consist of, I believe, 10 pound fluorocarbon running this to the
Marabu jig right here.
And after that, we're going to be throwing some wax worms on top of this.
Usually do about two or three of them.
Actually, I think I still got a bunch of wax worms in my pocket because I busted the whole
thing wide open.
That's what it's going to look like.
We got the jig with two waxes on it.
It's the setup right there.
Really like this spot actually.
Oh, dude, I might've had a fish.
What the heck?
I was not paying attention.
All right, hold up.
We're going to work this little.
I like this spot right here.
Ow!
I went all the way on my finger.
We've got a hike this time.
Just going to follow this trail to wherever it takes me.
Hopefully it's to the river.
I feel like I can hear it.
Just fall down a whole mountain.
Could you imagine that?
It was a hike and a half, guys.
It was insane to get here, I will be honest.
Dude.
Oh, it's going to be a day where this just doesn't happen and I just come down here.
Process.
Who loves learning?
No way.
That's a fish, guys.
It's a steelhead.
Oh my gosh.
What is my name?
Please, please, please, please.
Guys, this might be my biggest of the year.
Dude, this is insane, guys.
I wish I had someone here with me.
Guys, this is unbelievable.
Please.
There's a snag right there.
oh my god that is a brute oh my god this is I'm following the river guys I hope
I'm I hope I'm recording I hope I'm recording right now my first center pin
steelhead oh my gosh it's recording too I cannot even believe it guys I cannot
believe this holy freaking crap that is a big fish
I'm gonna keep them wet gonna keep them wet I've totally got water inside my
waders it is so worth it though I cannot believe this I am shaking I hope this
shot shows up this moment right here is something I've waited for for so freaking
long and we have got arguably one of the best fish I could have gotten in this
scenario guys I am so thankful I cannot even believe the fish I just caught it's
a wild steelhead right there adipose fin this is a buck I am speechless guys I am
literally speechless I will never forget this moment right here guys I cannot
believe this just happened look at how beautiful this fish is oh he's ready he's
ready Wow I don't even know what to say guys that was crazy my first ever on the
center pin cannot believe this is happening all right what is going on
guys we are finally done and concluded with the trip that we just went on I
spent 10 hours on the water to get only one fish but I tell you what I feel like
I have conquered so much defeat multiple full days spent on the water just trying
to even learn how to use this thing let alone catch a fish and the fish that we
caught was massive I was looking back at the footage I was saying six to eight
pounds but after looking at that I think it's eight to ten and maybe even pushing
ten pounds I really don't know I didn't want to take the time to weigh it I
want to get back in the water as quickly as possible let me know what you
guys think in the comments how big you think that fish was personally if after
looking at it I would say it's close to ten pounds but I don't want people
telling me that oh it's no that big whatever but you guys get the gist man I
conquered so much freaking defeat today and it was such a wonderful day on the
water it was really cold really windy we overcame the elements the first half of
the day was super cold very windy all my gear was completely freezing up solid I
had to call it quits take a little bit of break saw everything off and round
two definitely showed us some more love and it was an absolute adventure I had
no idea where I was I've never fished here before in my entire life and I
found all of my spots because of Google Earth and I would encourage all of you
guys to try and do the same if you're trying to get into fishing especially in
a new area but so thankful for today man that is definitely one for the books
that was one of the happiest moments I would arguably say of my life and I
share it every second with you guys but I hope you enjoyed the video if you did
