2022 Innovative Housing Showcase

I have gone to colleges all over the country, and I've said to them, what do you believe the future of housing should be? What kind of house do you think that you want to live in when you are in a position to buy one? I want you to look around today. This may, in fact, be the future of housing. And we are on the cutting edge of making it happen for every single American. Because the one thing I know, growing up the way I did, is every single person deserves to live in a home if they choose to do so. Every single person deserves the safety and security of a place like this, or maybe to take care of their family or their parents in an accessory dwelling unit, or to buy something that is affordable and doesn't take 50% of their income. We live in a country today that is woefully short of the kind of housing that most of our children and grandchildren will need. We are short more than a million homes in this country today. Today is the beginning of solving the problem. So I thank you all so much for being here. I want you to take a look at these homes. I cannot wait to get in them, because I'm a shopper anyway, so I'm trying to see what I can find. Energy efficient, they are resilient, and they are really nice looking.
