Uruguay vs. South Korea, Highlights World Cup 2022, Match #1 Group H

...Nation City Stadium intended to reflect a diamond in the desert. Will Uruguay or South Korea present themselves as a diamond on the field? Guard led by Luis Suarez are on parade. But Liverpool's Darwin Nunez, the captain, Son does make it. He plays wearing a face mask. So far I think they've been the better side. Coming in with aggressive intentions. Son Heung-min. Uruguay will certainly be aware of the fact that he has that face mask on. I won't be too shy about maybe roughing him up here. Luis Suarez not in the game at all so far. Oliveira here. Good looking ball. And they were looking for just that little flick that might have made the... Minute. They didn't play that well at all. But they got the points of course. Valverde. He's been in very sharp form for Real Madrid. And took that one quickly. This is so hard to defend. This time playing it long. And an opportunity. Not taken. Back in by Oliveira. Suarez goes down in the box. Good covering from the South Koreans. Who are looking for a fast break. Trying to get Son Heung-min in behind. Here he is. Captain of South Korea. And their major star coming in. It's Moon Hwan. But now there's a break on for Uruguay. They've got four against three here. Oliveira to play it wide. Nunez comes in for it. Wasn't quite the right ball. And the goalkeeper Kim Sung-kyu is able to do his stuff. Oh. Did everything right. Nice play again. By Na. By Kim Moon Hwan. This is he again. Getting the cross in. And a wonderful opportunity. Not taken. None of the previews thinking well they could be dangerous. If they can get the blend right. If the new wave players can star a little bit. The long-range shot is on the optimistic side. Some good headers of the ball. Waiting in there. Odin was one of them. And Uruguay so very nearly ahead. Him again. Can they get the set piece right? Kim Min-gyi went in for that. Never cleverly. I said France instead, didn't I? Just before halftime. Well, I certainly haven't seen Kylian Mbappe today. Not sure where you got that one. Probably could do with him. He's robbed as well. Godin long. Nunez. He's got the pace. He's got goal side. It's Nunez. And the goalkeeper does his job in the end. But that's the threat he poses. What a ball by Godin. Lee Kang-in. He's gonna have a shot straight away as well. Here's Song Hong-min. The Spurs man. Driven across. They want the front. And the chaser is Cho Guisong. Here he is again. Good effort. On the half. Volley. Need to put Paul Cavani looking to find a bit of space. He's done well there. Nunez. It deflects. You wonder where that was ending up. Just right was the answer. It looked like the center de la Cruz. Valverde. Invited to shoot. He can hit them. And hits the angle. A post and par. Nearly. Nearly settled it. It's given away though. Here's Son. He's gonna have a goal. South Korea. Nearly steal it too. Lovely cameo as a substitute. Still South Korea. Having survived that scare. Long range effort from Hwang In-bum. Have to go if they flopped. That is it. It's tight. Goalless draw. Uruguay. Hit the post. They hit the angle of the post and par. But it ends goalless.
