Extended Highlights_ Rafael Nadal v Nick Kyrgios Classic _ Acapulco 2019

Really outstanding forehands in that game from Nadal. It was just so sweetly struck. Brilliant. He had Nadal on a piece of string there. Well, it was a brilliant effort by Nadal to keep the point going, force Kyrgios to play another ball. It looks as though he was serve-volleying there, Kyrgios, and then decided against it, backpedalling. Yeah, good enough for volley. A pretty comprehensive opening from Rafael Nadal as he continues his pursuit of a third Acapulco title. A promising start from Nick Kyrgios, but Nadal ran away with it in the end, to take it by six games to three. Some positive body language from Kyrgios. That's a first tonight. Catalyst for Kyrgios to find something special this evening. Top draw tennis from Kyrgios. There aren't many players on the tour who could produce something as magical as that, and even a little tap of applause on the racket from Nadal, and rightly so. Amazing. An exhibition from Kyrgios. He was living on the edge there. It was a real high-wire act, but when he pulls it off, it is spectacular. Is it the same player? The ability to switch on and off. Too good. He's found an extra gear. The comeback is... Rios has found a way to turn this set in his favour when he was as close as you can be to walking out of the stadium when he was a set down. He's saved four break points and he's dominated the tie break. We're going all the way in Acapulco. Beautifully controlled drop shot, and suddenly Nadal back in the zone, clearly irked by what's been going on in the last 15 minutes or so. Incredible. Incredible from Kyrgios. Initially lucky with the return, which landed him when it looked as though it was ballooning long, but Kyrgios had to produce a bit of inspiration to stay in the game, and he has. What a great rally that was. What's he done here? The underarm serve earlier, Myles. The one to do. He just can't help himself, can he? Kyrgios against all the odds again. His held serve moves back in front. Who is going to have the final word in this extraordinary match? Wonderful shot making. Incredible. The baseline, Kyrgios did everything in his power to turn that point his way, but in the end, Nadal was just too strong. Lots of time to throw in just a third double fault of the night. Second serve, match point. It's long! And a victory for Nick Kyrgios. Has he achieved it? Who knows? Desolate. Kyrgios, emphatic. Delirious. Booze from the crowd. Cheers as well. But the most extraordinary performance from both of these players. Most of the fans on their feet to applaud. An incredible night that no one here will ever forget. And Kyrgios incredibly has won. 3-6, 7-6, 7-6.
