Replacing Rear Tail Light Locating Nuts And A Fail! I Audi A3 8P

Alright lads, today I've got a little bit of a video where we've got a couple of parts to be fitting, nothing major. I've just got the glove box interior light and the boot interior light. I'm a bit ill, so I'm going to quickly start this up. Yeah, boot interior light and I've also got the rear lights, the little grommets that hold the rear lights in place. I'm going to see how they go because when I did the video about how to replace the rear lights on these cars, I did mention that I didn't have any grommets and now I've got some from eBay, I'm going to go ahead and fit them and hopefully, hopefully that goes all good. So yeah, but first things first, I need some food. I'm not having any breakfast so I'm going to go ahead and go to the shops, get some food and then go to somewhere where we can do this video. So, here we go. Okay lads, I'm just at the shop now. I'm going to go ahead and go and get some food and I'll be back in two seconds. Okay lads, so I'm back. I'm going to go ahead and drive to a car park and then everything that we have got to do today, we should have all the tools inside the factory tool kit. So hopefully, we won't need anything else. So yeah, we'll go ahead and drive to the car park now and I'll see you guys in a sec. So, the first thing I'm going to go ahead and start with is the boot interior light. Now obviously, I haven't got much tools. All I've got is on me at the minute is just the tool kit which I'm hoping is all I'm going to need. So, I just need this flat head screwdriver and then go ahead and use the flat heads on it and hopefully, she just pries off. Yeah, perfect. I'll drop that down a bit and there we go. So, I'll go ahead and get you guys mounted. Okay, so I'll go ahead and disconnect this. Hopefully, it won't be too hard to do. There we go. Okay, so I've got it off. You guys can see that. Can you see that? Yeah. So, I'll take this plastic bit off. There we go. So now, we've got the bulb. Now, I don't have LED bulbs on me. What I've got is basically the same sort of bulb but in blue. You guys can see that blue bulb? So, I'm hoping it does what the box says and it turns out to be a lot more brighter than what they are here. I mean, I'm not really fast really. I mean, I've had a look around. That's not really... No, I'm not really bothered about these LED lights on the boot and everything because I don't really use the boot that often but if I can use these cheap bulbs in here and they work fine and hopefully, we should be good. So, let's have a look. See what they look like. Is that just it not working or is it... Is it... Does the boot have to be reopened? Hang on. Let me reopen the boot. You guys will be in the boot. So, good luck. Ah, there we go. So, right. That doesn't really look any different. That's it. Wow. That looks a bit **** to be honest. So, if I cut this case back on and put this back inside, does that look any different? No, it looks exactly the same. Alright, forget that. That's fine. I'll just leave that in there. That's fine. I'm not really worried about that. What I can do today is change these grommets that are behind these lights. I'll take this light off and I'll show you guys what I mean. So, I'll be back in a second. Okay, lads. So, basically, it's where these two holes are. Factory, these have two little grommets on which hold the rear lights still. Now, in the past, I've had these and when I put the light on, they've actually just fallen inside the car. Now, I don't know whether they're actually still inside the frame or whatever or underneath the bumper but or they might have just fallen out the car on the floor. So, hopefully, this won't happen this time. I've got two new ones. I got two. I don't know if I'm missing any on the other side. So, I'll definitely replace these two, take the other light off, see if I'm missing any. That way, I know if I need to order any more. This one's not a grommet. That's where the bolt goes to hold the light in. So, yeah, these are my new grommets here. As you can see, it's just basically like a little rubber filler and then that go in like that and then on the lights, they are little. It's got some little nipples there. So, yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and put these in now and I'll get back to you guys. Alright, guys, I just wanted to show you this. I've put one in so far but I just wanted to show you how hard they actually are to get in. You've actually gotta put some force on these to get them in but they do go in and they will go in and hopefully, when they do, it will be sweet but that looks so much better now. So, hopefully, that'll fix my issue and then I'm gonna go ahead and take this one off and see if I'm missing any on this side. Okay, so I've got the bottom one in and the top one. I'm gonna go ahead now and reconnect the light and hopefully, this will fit a lot better. So, let's go ahead and start fitting these in. Okay, so I've got this rear light in now. It seems to be a lot more stable. It doesn't rattle around or anything anymore because you used to be able to move this bit up and down because obviously, there's only one screw on this side but yeah, this seems pretty solid now. Now, I'm gonna go ahead and take this one off and obviously, yeah, see how much movement there is at the bottom there but I'm gonna go ahead and take this one off and see. Alright, lads, so I've taken this one off and it's exactly the same on this side. I'm missing both of the grommets so I'm gonna have to go ahead and order two more. I mean, they are actually like, they're not, I wouldn't say they're expensive but for what they are, they are quite expensive. I think that's £6 per one. So, yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and order another two of them but yeah, I mean, I don't think these were gone just because of me. I think I might have put these side, two of them gone in but I don't think I did these two. I think one of the owners before me that owned this car before me had done this but yeah, that's fine. At least, I know now I'll go ahead and put this light back on and I'm gonna have to go ahead and order some new grommets for this side. Alright, lads, I've got this light back on now. I'm gonna go ahead and order those things when I get home but obviously now we've got the one done so it's not too bad.
