The scene is set for our final day in Group D. Australia versus Denmark here at the Al
Janoub Stadium. We will keep you posted on the other match from this group.
And we're underway. Australia versus Denmark. The former England defender Warren Barton alongside
me. What does each of them have to do? Forwards towards Melo. The only danger area Ryan was there.
20 minutes. We know Denmark are going to try and get him behind.
Won by Brathwaite. And here's Jensen. He may go alone. Excellent save by Matt Ryan.
He wanted some support. Jensen. Going to take a shot. Going to make the goalkeeper, Ryan,
make a save. He was waiting, steadying himself. First thing, get it on target.
Number six at the far post to see if he can make a run around the back.
Ericsson. That's a good ball in to the far post.
We're getting in this side all the time. Here's Melo. In far too much space.
From an Australian perspective, what can he do with it? Joachim Melo.
He has the skill. That's a good ball across. Lost it for a moment, but recovered.
Commit too many uncaused errors here. To borrow a tennis turn.
In the green. Nice control from him. Ambitious. Oh, this is nice from Denmark. First time from
Ericsson. And Lindstrom's away. Brathwaite making the run. And it's still Lindstrom.
What a ball in. Still the danger not averted. Ericsson goes for goal.
Warning sign, slow for Denmark. Jackson Irvine.
Five players that was carrying some knots. Boy, here's a good early ball to Goodwin.
Now here's Duke. Goodwin stayed in the center. Runs into traffic.
One thing the Aussies didn't do brilliantly was the final ball in the first half.
Jackson Irvine. Oh, and he got it back as well. Good play by Australia. Duke finds Magritte.
What a finish. What a counterattack and at his best. Clinical. Game on.
Denmark came here knowing they had to win. They were pushing for it. Australia thought
perhaps they just needed to draw. But then Tunisia scored and that meant Australia had to win.
And they make life easier. Here's Duke, one of their goal scorers.
Behritsch. Oh, good play by Aziz Behritsch. Oh, this is wonderful.
This is really, really special. He was completely on his own.
A lot of bodies in the box. And this Anderson in the center half in the end.
Yeah, they're not playing fluid football. And they've had five players come into this
camp where they was injured. How about this? For a ball in towards Cornelius, a substitute.
As things stand, Australia not only going through, which is the most important thing,
but they'll be heading for their second clean sheet in a World Cup in a row. And bearing in
mind they hadn't kept one since 1974 until the other day. It's a strike. Dolberg there trying
to improvise. He was par originally. Just looking at Matty Ryan, he had to make that save
early on. Diving towards his top corner. But really since then, they don't want to go out
with a win. But even if they go out, they need to try and score. Lindstrom in towards Dolberg.
Brilliant challenge. And get on with a strike. Off target. Unless he can find two goals. That is
Ericsson towards the far post. Cornelius is there. Moi.
