Color, color, and more color. The ocean depths hide some of the most beautiful creatures in the
entire world. From corals the size of odd a continent to the smallest colorful fish you
can find on this planet. Welcome to Top 10 World and in this video we'll look at the top 10 most
beautiful ocean creatures. Let's dive right in, pun intended.
Number 10. Coconut Octopus. Unlike the other octopi, this one is the smartest of them all.
It doesn't swim underwater, no no, no. This little guy uses his tentacles as feet and walks on the
sea floor. When it finds a seashell, it will carry it with its tentacles and use it as camouflage.
Plus the fact that it can change its color makes it all the more beautiful. But don't
let these cute features fool you. This guy waits patiently for its prey, zaps across the water,
and grabs onto it with its tentacle. Once the prey is immobilized, the coconut octopus
injects a toxic substance inside the shell of the animal, completely melting the insides.
Once lunch is ready, it sucks out the delicious animal soup with its beak.
Number 9. Leafy Sea Dragon. It's like this majestic creature was taken straight from the
myths of yore and placed into the water. Don't let the parents fool you. It's not some sort of
algae that you found on the ocean. It's an actual animal. It's native to Australia and the entire
body is designed so the creature can blend into its surroundings and be absolutely unnoticed.
Number 8. Albino Lobster. They call them the one in a million lobsters. The reason for the name
is their extreme rarity. Even the majority of marine biologists haven't seen one in real life.
But in December of 2019, one fisherman managed to catch a white albino lobster. Even though many
Michelin-starred restaurants were offering him good money for his catch, the man decided to
smash that like button if you haven't done so already. But no, in the real world, he decided
to donate it to the National Trust before the creature was released into the ocean.
Just look at how majestic it is. Number 7. Koi Fish. With about 120 varieties of koi fish in
the world, people can choose the ones they like based on the depth of their pockets.
The most expensive koi fish costs a jaw-dropping $1.8 million. Yeah, you heard that right. It's
$1.8 million for all of the genetic-selective breeding spanning throughout the generations.
Just like dog breeds, the most expensive koi fish are those that have the purest bloodline,
the best balance of colors, and of course, the gracefulness of their swimming.
Number 6. Candy Crab. My god, these are cute. They are less than an inch in size and they are
some of the most colorful creatures on the ocean floor. They use the corals to camouflage their
little bodies. And although there is only one species of candy crab, the color largely depends
on the host coral. That being said, these soft-shelled crabs have been found in different
varieties of white, yellow, red, and even pink. Number 5. Mantis Shrimp. They're the most
colorful predator in the sea. Although they spend most of their lives hidden in small caves
underwater, the majestic mantis shrimp is very dangerous. They pack a punch so powerful that it
can actually heat up the surrounding water. And of course, that means that any hard-shelled organism
that comes in contact with it is going to be smashed into pieces, limb by limb. Number 4.
Nudibranch. Although the name is not as beautiful as their appearance, these creatures are the most
colorful sea slugs in the entire world. And there are about 3,000 species in the world.
Some have a spiked body resembling close to a porcupine that's been dipped in all the colors
of the rainbow, while others have a more of a fleshy appearance and are just as colorful.
Number 3. The Great Barrier Reef. Located off the coast of Queensland, Australia, exists the
largest coral reef in the entire world. The giant structure is comprised of 2,900 individual reefs
around 900 islands. All of this covers an area that's 133,000 square miles. This is the only
living structure that's visible from outer space. That's why it's been proclaimed a World Heritage
Site. Number 2. Lionfish. Their beautiful exterior hides a deadly secret. The lionfish have a
distinct red, white, and blue coloration for a reason. And that reason is to warn predators to
stay away. The fins of this fish have spikes at the end which inject poison into their victim,
which is how many people lost their lives when they were stung by them. Number 1. Mandarin Fish.
Here you have it folks, the most beautiful ocean creature in the entire world. Their bright blue
colors mixed with amber red and white make it a prized possession in any aquarium. And if you're
looking to buy one, you should know they are extremely picky eaters. Some never adapt to
aquarium life at all. And on that note, we end this video. But hey, what are some of the most
beautiful animals that you know? You can tell us in the comment section below. If you'd like more
