So today we are in my hot mess of a bathroom because we're finally going to start on our
main bathroom makeover. Honestly the reason it took me so long is I had zero inspiration for
this bathroom. I didn't know what I wanted to do in here. Also sorry if it's super echoey in here
and the light is not that great but we're gonna deal with it. So it took me forever to decide
what I wanted to do in here and honestly I didn't know until maybe like a week ago and then all of
a sudden I was like inspiration, inspiration. I thrifted this shelf for five dollars at a
Goodwill. I'm going to repaint it because some of the black paint is chipping off and that shelf is
going to go up here instead of the towel rack and then right to the left on this empty wall
I'm going to put a little mini gallery wall. These are the prints that I ordered. I have two portrait
and then two landscape paintings. So I got this one of this man reading a book. This really cute
dog one. I wish that I had like a portrait painting of Loki that would be awesome. I'm
trying to convince my dad to maybe paint me one but we'll see. Then this beautiful flower vase
and this little landscape with a little boat on the river. You can order all the prints matte but
it takes a little bit longer to arrive and since I didn't want to wait because I just want to get
this project done as soon as possible I'm just going to do my usual matte modge podge technique
on them so that they look like paintings. So I think that's what we're going to do next.
I got these little hooks for this empty wall here so I'm thinking of maybe putting either two or
three along the wall so that we can hang the bathrobes or towels or whatever else we need
to hang. These were $2.99 from Hobby Lobby but I got them when the wall decor was on sale so they're
half off. Good morning. I temporarily put the shelf up on top of the old towel rack just to
see where it's going to go and also so I can make my gallery wall over here and kind of have an idea
of like how close it's going to be to this thing. So yeah let's set it up. It looks so cute.
Okay so it runs a little more blue-gray than I anticipated. Loki can you not?
This is what I have to deal with. As I was saying it does run a little more like blue-gray than I
anticipated. I was expecting like full black color. I think I'm gonna unroll it and see how
it looks in the bathroom. I think it's like almost exactly the same like grayish as the
tile that's in the bathroom. So let's unroll it and see.
So it is many many days later. I was not able to finish the bathroom makeover in three days
how I had hoped but that's because as per usual it took me a really long time to make a decision.
I didn't love the rug that I originally bought. The rug itself was fine like it was really soft,
it was really nice and it was 20 bucks for the size which was crazy. So I can't complain too much
about that but I just didn't love like the vibe that it gave the bathroom. I'm going for like a
more old-school vintage-y kind of look and I felt like it looked it looked good but it was just more
boho maybe and I'm like I didn't really love it. So I got a new rug. Here she is. That's a sneak
peek. I haven't actually completely rolled it out yet so it'll be a surprise to both of us but I
think even just from the sneak peek it's already much more the style and the vibe that I kind of
wanted. So today we're going to finish the bathroom, we're going to roll out our rug, we're going to
decorate and we'll be done. So I think we need to get started. I'll also have a blog post link down
below so that you can have all the links to as many things as I can possibly link. Most of the
stuff I got at Hobby Lobby or Target and then obviously a couple of things are thrifted. Oh and
before I forget, I also swapped out the handles. I don't know if you can tell the difference on
camera but they were basically like a black color before and I thought it looked a little too
farmhouse and a little too new and modern so I just rub and buff them with my favorite European
gold rub and buff. You can't tell as much on camera but in person it looks a lot more like gold. It's
more like a rustic gold black color so I thought it was fitting with the vintage vibes. It also
matches the little gallery wall exactly as well as the kind of like bronzy hook so I just thought
that that was a small little detail but it makes a difference.
And she's done! Finally! But it came out so good. It's honestly just a couple of little touches here
and there you know like the handles aren't like a huge difference but they add a little something
you know. The rug definitely was the right choice I think so I'm very happy with that. But yeah I'm
just so happy with it so thank you all for joining me. I hope you liked it and again like I said I'll
have a blog post in the description below so if you're interested in anything I'll try to link as
much as I can. But I'll see you all in another video. Bye!
Yeah the shelf came out really nice. Yeah the paintings too. Yeah awesome!
