Hey guys, it's Maddie.
So in this video, I am going to show you
how to do this really easy updo for short curly hair,
inspired by the new Cinderella movie that's
coming out on the 13th.
And she has really gorgeous hair that's
only partially pinned back.
So I wanted to do something similar, but for short hair.
So I'm going to show you guys how
to do this really pretty half updo.
It's kind of like a loose French braid.
And then I have little pins in here as well.
So yeah, I'm going to go ahead and get started.
So Cinderella has really thick, wavy hair in the movie.
It's really gorgeous.
So in order to maintain my curl, I'm
going to use this Moroccan Oil Curl Defining Cream.
I'm just going to run this throughout my hair.
And this will help hold my curl throughout the day.
And any sort of updo, especially with short hair,
is much easier to do if you have some sort of texture
in your hair.
And an easy way to do this is by using a sea salt spray.
So I have this Instant Texture Mist by Living Proof.
And this is just going to help hold my hair
and give it some more texture so that it's easy to pin up.
All right, so I'm going to start on the left side of my hair.
And I'm going to just do a really loose French braid.
I'm also going to try to incorporate my bangs in here
as well.
So I'm starting from the top, creating three sections.
And then you start your braid.
Then you're going to start pulling pieces from each side.
I find that it's easiest to do when I'm not
looking in the mirror, because then it just
starts getting confusing.
So you're just going to pull it back
to around the point of your ear.
And you're going to tie it off with a little elastic.
So I'm just going to do the same thing to the other side.
I'm going to start off with a regular braid.
And then I'm going to start pulling in more pieces of hair
as I go down.
And once I get to the back of my head,
I am going to join the other braid.
So it ends up being one ponytail at the end.
And then what I'm going to do is flip it inwards,
which is going to make it look like I
have a braided crown that just connects all the way around.
So in the movie, you can see Cinderella
with either flowers in her hair or at the ball.
She has these really gorgeous rhinestones in her hair.
So I'm going to go ahead and add these hair twisties
that I found at Claire's.
I used to have these when I was younger.
And I think these are so much fun.
So I'm just going to go ahead and twist these in my hair,
just sporadically throughout my braided pieces.
And that's it.
All right, so I hope you guys enjoyed this easy half
updo for short hair inspired by Cinderella.
I hope you guys enjoyed it.
And I will talk to you guys again very soon.
Bye.
