Bricklaying Twisted Brick Pier build
We've got the base done to the twisted pier. As you can see I've got the template in here
with a little hole in. I'm going to set that in place now and then put our pole in place.
That's going to be our guide for our twisted pier. So we'll set that in now.
Bob that in there. So next our scaffold tube is going in. I'm going to put it into the
bottom base as well. That's in there. You just need to like, there we go. That's definitely in
there. Set at the top. So I've cut it off and I'm just going to use this to push it down that side
so it cannot move ever. It's really important this bit because it's really the guide of our twisted
pier. Here's all our splits I prepared earlier with a BT saw. So that's that done and I've cut
some of these as well because I'm going to do a little bit of a spiral effect with them.
And here's our template which I just cut out of plastic. I think it's shellboard which was in
my back garden and that is exactly the size brick length of two bricks so it's 440.
Got a brick and that's one so we're actually square now. 28 courses that so I'm thinking
that's only halfway I wanted to do 180 degree but we're going to be way up there in the sky
if I do that and the pole's not big enough so I'll just finish it off now.
We're actually 27 course higher so it took 27 of these splits to do 90 degree revolution.
So that's only one quarter of 360. I wanted to do 180 so I've miscalculated it somewhere,
never mind. There we go. I'm not going to go any higher because I'd have to do double lap to get
where I want to go for 180 and that's going to be way above this pole which is set out so
we're not going to do it apart from that. But we'll kind of cut it off short and then we'll
do a peer capping of some sort otherwise we'll get some sandstone or something.
Looking good otherwise.
