KÆMPE glæde i GIVSKUD ZOO

Saru and Frida are out for a lovely swim in their river Saru and Frida are preparing the next generation Saru and Frida are busy building a raft No unfortunately we can't get close to our two big bears right now We have fortunately a hidden camera Richard you are standing in the giants' kitchen as there is currently a ban on access to the giants There is at least very limited access and that's because they have had young ones or are raising young ones They had two but one was stillborn and they still have one that seems to fit quite well Is there something special about big ears for kids so they need a completely special form of rest It is at least our experience in the few zoos where it has been possible to breed the giant pandas The decisive factor is actually how much peace one can give them The more disturbances the higher the chance they won't suit the young or in the worst case eat them because they feel disturbed Now we can say that in our facility which is very large with many opportunities Have we not experienced the same confusion here We have still tried to give them as much peace as possible not to risk anything A young one is not that much is it No it's not much but it's the first one and basically everything depends on them starting off on the right foot Normally a first-time mother giraffe gives birth to only one calf There is nothing strange in them getting four So we are very well suited as at least it has worked out for one of them And now we hope we are not already there When a few months have passed we can begin to feel safe in the knowledge that it will survive but it takes some time You're saying there should be complete silence but the animals have still entered one of the cages We've taken a few chances especially since Sav and Frida sometimes go out to get something to eat And we have two tasks One is to ensure that the storage boxes are dry and comfortable to be in They don't want to use them The horse inside needs to be changed if it becomes very wet And the other thing is that we have installed cameras in all the nesting boxes And they get dirty so we have to go and dry them off And the cages had each individual opportunity been in a box where the young one was lying But it didn't matter that he went in It was precisely at the moment he was inside changing his boots that it actually meant something When the Sav and Frida returned to the den they took the cub and moved it into the other box So we have actually decided that we won't go into the boxes where the child is from now on Because it means something for diseases for them and works distracting Now she has the little one and when will it be able to take care of itself Jamen it will be a couple of months before she comes out and has to learn to swim And then another few months pass before it becomes independent of its mother's milk So at least a nice amount of time passes It's also the case that the big arms are so cleverly arranged They are at risk of losing the cubs So already a few days after they have given birth here She will go into heat again and become pregnant So already now Frida can actually give birth and become pregnant again Men it's just that they can park these foster kids So if the good kids they have go well it won't be anything If they go for some reason But then she can quickly start the small fetuses she has lying in her womb And so she's actually ready to have a great litter of puppies again in two months
