Hey folks, and welcome to the Truck King YouTube channel
and another news update.
Ford has released more details
on the all-electric F-150 Lightning,
and we're gonna share them with you.
First of all, we have photos and video
from inside the production facility
where this electric truck is being built.
Now besides that, the build and price tool just came online,
so we're gonna dig into that
and talk about what this all-electric F-150 costs
and how you can put it together.
These photos that you're looking at
from inside the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center
in Dearborn, Michigan were released alongside the news
that Ford is doubling capacity of F-150 Lightnings
up to 150,000 units annually.
They say that is totally based on demand.
They have over 200,000 reservations,
so they're cranking up supply
to make sure every customer
who wants an electric F-150 gets one.
Next up, let's roll the footage from Ford
so we can see an F-150 Lightning being built.
Personally, I love factory tours.
It is so interesting
to actually see these trucks being built.
Now of course, I wish I was there in person
to actually witness it and make a video like that,
but for now, we have to just take what we can get.
So thanks to Ford for providing this footage
so we can see inside the all-electric F-150 plant.
While you watch these F-150s come together,
I'll fill you in on a few new details that we now have.
The F-150 Lightning will be offered
with two different battery packs.
The smaller one, Ford calls it the Standard Range Pack,
is 98 kilowatt hours,
while the Extended Range Pack is a 131 kilowatt-hour battery.
According to Ford, with the Standard Range Battery,
the F-150 Lightning has an EPA-estimated range
of 230 miles, that's 370 kilometers.
Step up to the Extended Range Battery
and you'll get an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles,
that's 483 kilometers, on XLT and Lariat trim trucks.
Yet the top trim Platinum and Range
falls a little bit to 280 miles
with this Extended Range Battery.
Oh, and by the way,
going from Standard Range to Extended Range,
that is going to cost you $10,000 US.
This is Ford's calibration machine for its onboard scales,
and I just think that's so cool
that they have this machine in the factory
that's gonna press down on that bed
and make sure that those scales are working correctly.
And now let's take a look at the build and price tool,
which was just released for the United States.
Sorry, Canadians,
we don't have a build and price tool just yet.
So this base model, the Pro,
is gonna start at a hair under 40 grand,
while the Platinum, that's gonna go for 90.
Now you can see on the Pro model,
you're only getting the Standard Range Battery.
XLT and Lariat, you have a choice,
and then Platinum, you're only getting the Extended Range.
So we'll try to walk through this quickly.
Here on the Pro, I just wanna scroll right down.
I don't wanna pick a single option.
Quickly, I'll show you,
I mean, this is the base model,
but you're still getting a big screen,
you're still getting a digital gauge cluster.
Net price with destination, 41,669 US.
So that's gonna be the cheapest F-150 Lightning
that you can buy.
Now, quickly, we'll go back to Model.
Scroll over here to Platinum.
Now, like I said,
you can see it's only Extended Range Battery.
You're getting all the different features
already built into this model,
so it's fully loaded.
You basically can't pick anything,
but you can just add some accessories on there.
Let's just scroll all the way down now and check it out.
92,569.
So that's gonna be your absolute top-end price
before you add on a couple of accessories
if you want them.
Now, finally, let's go Mid-Range,
and we'll take an XLT with the Standard Range Battery,
and we'll look a little closer now.
Now, getting to the batteries, this is interesting.
I mentioned earlier it's $10,000
to step up to the Extended Range.
However, you also need to get this XLT pack, 312A,
and that costs $9,500.
So the total price is $19,500.
Now, you can see over here,
this is the equipment group we selected.
So you are getting larger wheels, Pro Power on board.
I guess that's part of the larger battery pack.
A number of different features,
but it's just good to know you have to get this package
to get the larger battery pack,
and that means it's really going to cost you.
Now, let's look at this Tow Technology package.
This has a lot of great features.
Love the onboard scales.
Trailer Reverse Guidance is cool.
Pro Trailer Hitch Assist.
This is an awesome package right here for towing.
Finally, let's just scroll all the way down.
So this is sort of a mid-level truck
with the Extended Range pack.
You're looking at $74,000.
Oh, and by the way,
it's not a coincidence that Ford just released this news
because tomorrow, January the 5th,
Chevy is going to reveal the all-electric Silverado.
So I think Ford wanted to get ahead of Chevy
with a little splash of news.
And you know we're going to cover that truck too,
so make sure you come right back here to the channel
to check that out.
Now, that's it for this one.
