Summer Bedding ... let’s plant some annuals. Now that we are heading towards the end of May, surely we are now safe from frost so can start planting annuals. The wall planter we recently made from an old pallet needs some bright colour so I have found some gorgeous annuals and I have a matching colour pallet to put in the two planters along the same wall. May really is my favourite month in the gardening calendar, still Spring and full of promise of the Summer ahead.

Hello, I'm Enthusiastic Gardener and I've had to wait to the end of the day today for this because this area here is in full sun all afternoon and it has been 25 degrees today.
I'm gorgeous but I could not, I'm actually not very good in the hot weather. I love the warm weather but I can't sit in the sun, I'm not a sunbather.
So I had to wait to the end of the day because I've got some nicer plants for this planter.
You may remember if you watched a video a short while ago, we made this planter out of an old pallet that had been in the garage for a couple of years.
And at the time I was so excited to plant but I didn't have any plants.
So what I ended up doing was digging up things from the garden just to put in here but I mean it's not the most attractive is it?
Mum gave me these actually from her garden and I will plant those out into the landscape again.
But I've got some beautiful plants which I'm going to put in here. Let me show you, I'll just go and get them.
I wanted pretty colours.
So we're going to have two trailers, they are the same, I think I'll put those in the top.
And then I have the same colours.
I have four of these and I've got two there and two there.
So I think that will look lovely.
I've got the trailers at the top and hopefully it will cascade in beauty which will bound.
I may have to squash it into position.
Anyway, let's do this.
This is more than one plant in one pot.
And it's deeper than I need so it's only an annual.
I'm taking off a little section of the roots and I'm just pulling it apart and I'm putting in four little pieces.
There we go, that's the plant up.
When I water it I will get rid of all this soil.
And in a couple of days I'm sure that will really start to fill out and cascade with a bit of luck.
And the other thing I have is I have two planters and I have cheated and bought two of these.
And these are just for hanging baskets.
So it's already got a complete mixture of beautiful colours that all go together.
And this is called Apple Blossom Kit.
It gives a picture there.
So, I can keep all these.
I might do some seeds next year so I'll keep those.
Keep these as well.
Let's have a tidy up.
And a water.
Right, we've got to plant those again.
That can go there, that can go there, that can go there.
This has got to go in the bin.
We're going to replant those.
Tidy up.
Let's have a sweep.
Oh, Lucy loves water.
She always gets involved with your water and her feet are soaking wet now.
Anyway, look at that Lucy.
Look at Mummy's beautiful plants.
Do you like them?
I just want to show you one thing.
Because my new bed that I planted, which is just there.
At a certain time of the day, the sunlight catches the red.
And it just looks beautiful, that red.
There.
It's so pretty.
It just catches the light, the last bit of the evening sun.
So it's the end of another gorgeous day.
It's been beautiful today, 25 degrees.
I love May.
May is my favourite month of the whole calendar.
And I hope you've enjoyed this video.

Tomorrow I think I will do the May garden tour for you.
Because my poppy has just come into bloom.
My rhododendron, which hasn't bloomed since 2018, has decided to bloom.
The lilac bush is looking gorgeous.
And I'll show you an update on my new clematis, which are all blooming and looking stunning already.
So I think they're happy where they are.
Hope you're all okay.
