Getting Creative While Fixing a Broken Bottle Brick (Chicken Garden Day 62)

Oh my cob! Stay 62. Today before Jonathan comes out the kids and I are going to be working on cobbing in these bottles bringing the cob out a little bit further on each bottle. We have two that have cracks and one that broke so I'll show you how we're gonna fix it. We're almost done with cob for the day which means next up is more earth bags. Now we have a little bit of weirdness I don't know if you can see but over here on the left side of our mountain it's taller than on the right side which means we might have to fill the bag with less on one side and more on the other or we'll just fill it like normal and just try to tamp it down more. We're gonna have to mess with a little bit it probably won't be perfect on this layer but hopefully we'll be able to get it before we get all the way up because we only have a few left. Also we need to add our final cleats on the front door so I'm gonna make those right now and then other than that it's just laying more earth bags. So if you'll remember at yesterday's video from from yesterday's video at yesterday's um this bottle has some minor cracks that could develop into bigger cracks so the only thing that we're gonna do with that is just cob because our cob will cover those cracks. I think it'll be fine if it's not we'll deal with it later but I think it'll be fine. So to fix this broken bottle right here this is what we're gonna do. I have a jam jar it's a perfect size to fit in where it broke off and look it's like the same size as all these other bottles so all I'm gonna do is cob this in. Again this is a chicken garden it's not a big deal. Wouldn't do this for the house. Would not do it for the house but this is a chicken garden it's not gonna fall out there's gonna be so much cob around it I'm really not worried about it but this is how we're gonna fix it. We taped it once and it keeps falling apart. Well the problem was is when Nine-Nine was little he messed with it and he broke it but then every time we would wind it up it would get stuck in there and then when we try to pull it out it would rip it even more. This is why we can't have nice things. It's a mess it's a mess he doesn't mess with it anymore so if we got a new one it'd probably be okay. Until we get a puppy. But this is yeah I mean it could go any day any day we got to be really careful with it. If you're not helping me go behind me. I need to keep it above my shoulder and I need it untwisted. I think we need to slow down a little bit. I put the cleat in the wrong place. You cut it back too short. We're not starting off good. We've got double production going again. It's 3.50 right now. Let's see how long it takes to do this half of the circle. 40 minutes which is not great. We did way faster last night. We're just not very motivated today. Also I have to tamp it too so let's see hold on it's 4.33. Let's see how long it takes me to tamp it. Okay that took 20 minutes to tamp which seems like a long time. Seem like a long time? Yep. What can I say it's hard work. All right so we only got halfway around this chicken run. True we got our butts done but then we only got halfway halfway on this side. Also you guys did a ton of cob work before I came out. That's true. So we did get a lot done but I think the kids have been out here so long with you they were kind of like eh. What because they were with me? No that oh man that's not what I meant at all. I meant I meant that they were out here working for a long time already so they were. Sure that's what you meant. Okay send help. All right so we're not going to push anybody. Everybody's kind of wanting to go in and have a snack so that's what we're going to do. Hey we're going to be done before it's dark. I know it's amazing. Yeah. Also we have a lot of more work a lot of a lot of more work a lot of more work to do today. Yeah we have lots of videos to edit a lot of stuff to work on so yeah we'll be back at it tomorrow some more cob some more earth bag. Yeah. You know the drill. No so babe four days ago I said I was hoping that we would be done with this in four days and we're not. We're what two days into that? No this was the fourth day. Oh this was the fourth day. Yeah.
