Hello treasures today we're going to look at the process I use when creating an illustration
I chose this illustration because it's been a while since I've done backgrounds and it's something I'd like to work on more
I worked on it for a while and then kind of set it aside
I want to show you the process of the sketch first
Because as I've already told you sometimes what I do is like sketching but in the evenings and when inspiration strikes
In fact this illustration is the sketch I posted on my studio blog which was in an Uber and I just did my sketch like that all messy
And this is what came out This is really how I wanted it to be
I thought a lot about whether to do it digitally or traditionally
But I think I was more inclined to do it the traditional way
I'm going to start advancing it a bit so you can see
I would like to talk a lot about the
illustration itself What is it about
Because I've told you that what I like is for you to interpret what you see in the illustration
That you might invent a story
Because I don't like to talk much about what it's about but rather let the image speak for itself
And well here I am transferring the illustration to paper
The paper I am using is a guarro
And originally the idea came to me through a song
And most of my illustrations come out this way I've already mentioned that
I hear songs and that's what makes me create certain illustrations
Then people often ask me that
Where it comes from that I smoke a lot
I don't smoke anything anymore
Inspiration comes through songs books and movies
But anyway that's the process I'm going through
It's like step by step what I'm doing
First I do a sketch then I unsketch
I pass it on to the more
concrete idea For example here on the iPad
Then it moves to the watercolor paper
In this case because I wanted to do it the traditional way
If not then directly digital
Many times I think it's easier digitally so to speak
Because the truth is that it's also a show
But I mean because the colors you can keep changing
As you are drawing if you don't like them
And traditionally it's a bit more strict than that
Because if you're already wearing certain colors sometimes it's kind of hard to change
The impossible but it's more tedious
Okay I've got the sketch done My idea was to use some
masking fluid in certain areas
to block off specific parts
But I just realized this paper is very delicate
In fact it's almost not visible
But when I put the washi to stop it while it was transitioning from digital to paper
I noticed that it seemed to lift up very easily
No no no you're not going to do it again
Because it's already happened before when I used masking fluid
And he lifts it with all the paper When the paper is very delicate
Then I won't be able to use masking fluid
Even I'm going to see how I put the masking here
So that I don't I'm not going to take it off either
And the next step I take is the color test on the iPad
Because I rarely do this
Usually I go like this to Chile
What I was saying
But in this illustration I did say no
I think I need to do a color test first
Then that's something I can recommend to you
If you have well not specifically a tablet
But if any computer program
That they can do their color tests digitally
So that they feel more confident about doing it traditionally
And may you have some guidance
The colors I wanted were like cool ones
And obviously the pink touch
And I was kind of playing around
And I put the colors I had in mind into digital form
And I said oh yes I think I liked it
Yes we're doing well
But yes sometimes it has happened to me that if I don't do color tests
In the end it turns out to be something very strange
And maybe not the colors I would like
Then yes
I recommend you do it
It's very useful
Yeah even if it's super rough
Because if you look it's just a very quick guide
It's not like it's very detailed
But it already gives me a fairly clear idea of how all the color will turn out
For this illustration I
think it will be a mixed technique
Then I will add watercolors I
will add wash Colored pencils
Also little brushes
And my wash palette
As I mentioned it will be a mixed technique
And what I start doing is working first with watercolor That
will be my base
Here I am doing some color tests
That is very useful Because sometimes if they don't do those color
tests they might just put the pigment
directly into their illustration
Maybe you don't like the color I tell them
that very often But the truth
is I don't do it either
I forget it because it's weak
But it's very useful Do it
I will try to do it constantly as well
And then first I put down the watercolor base From
there I go with the wash I
start playing with the tones
Finally I add colored pencils
A little bit of Copic
And finally white ink
That's basically my illustration process
Because I'm telling you that several people had asked me that
Well that's it
Basically that's all
What needs to be followed
And the rest is having fun when adding the color
Something else I also recommend is choosing a good paper
It depends on the technique you are going to use
But it has to be suitable for the technique
Because if not they also struggle a lot with that
And finally I think the format
I usually use letter
A little bigger than letter
If they are small things then they are like 10x10 in size
But from there I think in the future I want to do bigger things
And don't even get
me started It's just that often people limit themselves because of the blogs that sell
Well okay
Basically that's all
Treasures
I really hope these little tips can be helpful to you
Okay I'm taking this from the drawing
I got a bit stressed
Because seeing those stains stressed me
But I know it's part of the whole show
Then I'm going to take a break right now
Because I know that if I start following him I'll only make a mess
And that's a crucial part
At least in my process
Not feeling desperate
Then I'll leave it for a while
I'm going to check YouTube or something like that
I'll be back soon
Well hello little friends
That's how the result turned out
I hope you liked it as much as I did
In the future I want to do
more illustrations that have
that kind Like flashes rare
lights But anyway You know that
If you liked

If it was
helpful Some tips I gave
here Subscribe Like
Tell me if you liked it
And you know we have a little Spotify list
Where you can go listen to some cool music while you draw
You can also visit my Instagram if you want
Here I leave it down here
Well that's all
I'm leaving now
I'll leave you
I send
you a hug I love you
See you in
