This is Jared. I think everybody knows Jared. I'm Chris Massey. I'm new to the company and
we were making a beam for a pergola and it's going to be lifted up on some steel posts
and it was made from a blue lamp beam that's five and an eighth by 30 inches
and from a drawing that Jeanette drew up I started by making this template
and marking it out and using a series of router bits to make the cuts
to achieve the cutting of the beam and Jared has been also helping out
putting the steel on the top and the bottom.
The beam presented some challenges with the router bits that
that are available and we got the largest and longest ones that we could get so
with the template we were able to come down three inches into it and then turn it over and then
rough cut it out and then use a bearing bit to finish the cut. After these are installed there
will also be two additional steel straps that go along the top of them for to provide aesthetics
mostly aesthetics and shade and it matches the existing pergola that was built by Hanson Carlin.
I cut all of the cross pieces so we can have our the brackets are going to go in like this
to hold the cross pieces in they're going to sit on top and then we're going to take
the take the pieces back off and probably
we'll probably just load it into the truck as is strap it to the wall of the truck and
hopefully it stands.
