Finally the weekend! I'm gonna watch some YouTube videos. So what we got there?
Top 5 free mods for your Subaru. That's not interesting.
Hi Brucie!
Okay that was nice.
Before I end this video I wanted to continue a tradition I got caught up in.
An extended challenge to make a video to a fellow YouTuber.
I'm gonna be nominated that's for sure.
I have to go with SoftRootingTheWest.
SoftRootingTheWest? Who's that guy anyway?
Let's watch his video.
So I was challenged to do the 5 free mods for your Subaru.
Wow. Well you got some some nice tips too.
To pass the challenge along to someone else.
And I would like to see...
That's gonna be me. That's gonna be me. That's for sure. That's for sure.
The Rooted Progress take this on.
Be sure to check out...
The what?
The Rooted Progress channel on YouTube.
The Rooted Progress?
The West for challenging us.
Yeah. Not me.
Challenge.
DTP.
Third one. I'm never gonna be nominated. That's...
That's tough.
That's... That's really tough.
Challenge from The Rooted Progress.
And I'll be sending on the challenge to Maita at Ignition Offroad.
Thanks for watching guys. I'll see you next time.
That's it. It's too much.
I can't handle this.
I'm gonna do it.
What's that?
Ignition Offroad new video.
Let's check it out.
And obviously I'm gonna have to pass on this challenge to someone else.
So you probably already guessed...
Yeah. I already guessed.
My treat. That's gonna be me.
As to who it's gonna be.
But I'll nominate Jordan from AL MSN Overland.
Jordan from ASN Overland.
Would you trust me?
But me or not?
I'll nominate Jordan from AL MSN Overland.
That's me. That's me. That's me.
Let's make a video.
Hi guys. My name is Jordan and I like to watch...
Wait. What?
Hi guys. My name is Jordan and welcome to AL MSN Overland.
So as you already guessed in today's video,
I'm gonna show you 5 awesome free or almost free pretty cheap mods for your Subaru.
And the first one is actually on the inside of the car.
Just right there.
Let's go.
Okay. So we can all agree that the interior of the Forester
or Subarus in general are pretty comfy.
You're nicely seated.
You have some armrests pretty much everywhere in the car.
And it's okay for long drives.
But I still had one problem.
Just right there.
And this is on the armrest of the door panel.
Because it's made of pretty hard plastic.
And the problem was my elbow.
I have like pretty sharp bones.
So at the end for longer drives, you know, it wasn't really comfy at the end.
So I came up with one nice solution.
So what I've done on my side is that.
I actually put a piece of yoga foam mattress on the door's panel armrest.
That way it's a bit more comfy.
It's pretty easy to do.
It's almost free.
You know, you just have to grab your girlfriend or wife yoga mattress and cut a piece of it.
She won't even notice.
And you know, I've put some double-sided tape and it doesn't move at all.
I can still open this little storage area which is not really useful for me.
But I wanted to keep that.
And now my elbow is nice and comfy for longer drives.
Yoga foam mattress is cheap and pretty comfy.
And now tips number two.
And this one is not gonna be free but it's gonna be pretty cheap under $100.
And it's simply to repaint your car.
Yeah, I said simply because at the end it's not a really difficult process.
I totally understand that for some reason you don't want to do it.
But if it's just because you're not confident enough.
Well, guess what?
I've made a video about it.
And in it, I explain to you how to do it, every mistake to avoid, the gear I used, everything.
So for less than $100, you can get your car the color you want and you can do it by yourself.
It's gonna be pretty satisfying.
So this is totally something to consider.
And now the mods number three.
And this one is gonna be a nice ANSM Overland sticker.
Hey, no, no, no.
No self-promotion in this video.
It's my video, it's my channel.
No self-promotion, that's the rule.
Okay, so for this mods number three, it's actually gonna be this.
A cup holder with a broken part because of Lisa.
So I don't know for you in the US because you are, you know, the cup holder country.
Let's put it that way.
But here in France, we don't have the cup holder in all of our vehicles.
And actually, when I bought my Forester, I didn't have the cup holder.
It was just a plastic trim.
So it was actually one of the very first mods I did to my Forester is to get
this nice and very useful and now broken cup holder.
Show us the broken part again.
Ah yes, it's very broken.
Mod number four.
And for this one and actually all the others mods, we're gonna stay in the car.
Because first of all, it's raining outside.
And actually, all the other mods are on the inside of the car.
And for the fourth one, it's gonna be just here on the seats because they are
MOLLE seat covers.
The MOLLE seat covers or MOLLE seat organizer.
First of all, they actually gonna protect your seats just like this one.
And there are some that covers even more of your seats.
But the main purpose of those MOLLE seat covers or organizers
is to have more storage space that you can nicely organize.
So that's behind the driver's seat.
You got here a very accessible trauma kit.
This is pretty important.
Don't mess with that and get one as soon as possible.
I have another pouch here for my binoculars.
And another pouch here.
You don't really have to use pouches on the MOLLE.
And that's the whole beauty of this system.
You can just slide some stuff in it or use some carabiner like this.
And also, you can stuff some items between the seat and the MOLLE organizer.
So they are pretty nice addition.
And they are now pretty cheap.
You can find them under the $50, I guess.
And tips number 5.
And this one, once again, is actually one of the very first mods I did to my Forester.
And it is...
A nice STI shift knob.
And the fact is, I didn't really like the stock shift knob.
First of all, it was a bit soft.
You know, I didn't like the feeling.
Plus, it was all sticky from the previous owners.
I didn't really like that.
And I wanted to, you know, to make it my own, to personalize my car.
And I found this nice STI shift knob.
It's not a real one, obviously.
That's a cheap one you can get on Aliexpress for under $10, 10 euros.
So it's really a nice deal.
I love the look.
It's pretty durable.
I have it for more than three years now.
Does the job pretty well.
And it's a nice addition.
Nice finish, in my opinion.
And if you like it and you want to get one, I'm gonna put a link down below in the description.
Since I'm a pretty nice guy and you're gonna subscribe to my channel now,
I'm gonna give you a bonus, a six mod for your Subaru.
And actually, this one is gonna be more focused for you guys who are going out,
outdoor, camping, overlanding, adventuring, exploring.
Yeah, there's a lot of names for the same thing we all like.
And actually, that's pretty simple.
Just right there.
That's gonna be a nice bungee cord between the two.
I don't know how you call them.
Two harm holder, maybe.
It's a bit weird.
So if your bungee cord is OG green, you got some extra tactical point.
That's nice.
But this thing is gonna be really useful if you're going out for a few days, for a week,
and you want to make your laundry.
Or if you go swimming, maybe.
If you do anything that involves having wet clothes or if you have to wash your clothes.
Because this will simply allow you to put some wet clothing in order to make them dry.
In my setup, we have this box here.
We call it the cube.
And this is where we put all of our clothes.
And actually, I have this little system here.
That is actually the stock Subaru system from the spare tire well emplacement.
So I have this and I'm just gonna use it to keep it open.
It's gonna be way easier to grab my clothes with my both hands.
And that's it for my five free or pretty cheap mods for your Subaru.
I really hope you like them.
Tell me in the comments if you already have some or if you think this were useful.
It was actually pretty tricky to find some original mods because of all the previous videos.
And another thing that's gonna be a bit difficult is to pass this challenge to somebody else.
Because at the end, it's pretty difficult to find another Subaru enthusiast,
Subaru Hooners, who is on YouTube and make videos on a consistent way.
I don't know a lot of them, but I do have a name in mind.
And for that, we're gonna get back to Australia because it's gonna be you,
Monty Scott from Subibuy4 or Subix4.
I think you're a bit more active on Instagram rather than YouTube,
but you have some nice videos and I would love to see your five free mods for our Subis.
So I really hope you enjoyed the video.
If you did, please subscribe to my channel if it's not already done.
You can also check my Instagram accounts and my brand new website.
And maybe if you want to support me in another way, I also have a Patreon page.
So thank you guys for watching and see you next week.
We are not moving.
You.
