Our Morning Skincare & Makeup Routine
Do I have a little something on my face?
I can't even laugh because I can't move, it's dry.
Look how awkward.
My stomach's growling.
I'm hungry.
Let's go.
We're gonna share our fun beauty routines with you guys,
but don't forget to subscribe
so you don't miss future episodes.
Subscribe below.
Pamper, pamper, pamper.
That's what this whole thing is about.
Take care of yourself and your skin will take care of you.
We don't normally dress exactly the same,
but today is our day to show you what we do every morning.
We are either cleansing and taking care of our skin
or cleansing, taking care of our skin
and then doing our makeup.
I wish we did this every morning.
I know, it would be fun, right?
That means we'd have to live together.
That would be really fun too.
You know, but you have so many people in the house.
Okay, anyway, we're gonna do, we're gonna start.
When we lived together, we used to share a bathroom
so it looked just like this.
But not in matching robes
because Alika thinks that's corny.
Well, I do, but whatever can get you
to look like my twin, I'll take it.
You know, it doesn't matter what I do,
I'm always going to look like your twin.
It's our faces.
So our outfits really don't matter.
But I, no, they do.
I like both.
I like to double your pleasure.
Ha ha.
See, that's corny.
Ha ha ha.
That's my turn.
But I do though, I wanna look alike
and I like to dress alike
and I wish that we'd still have one.
You know what, I'm gonna give you a day.
When?
I don't know.
I am really excited.
Ha ha ha.
I messed up.
That was evil.
We'll dress alike and then you get to pick the outfit.
It better be a fabulous outfit.
We're gonna share our really fun glam routine with you guys
and also very, very important,
if you want to love your skin,
you've got to love on your skin.
So I'm gonna share a lot of my beauty secrets
and just overall routine for keeping good skin.
Now it's not always great
because I've got plenty of blemishes and scars to prove it,
but I still love on it so it can be better.
And normally I don't have a lot of time in the morning
to do my makeup,
but today I'm gonna share with you
just how I do a little bit of makeup
to make myself feel a little more comfortable and gorgeous.
So in the morning, I like to start with an ice roller.
This goes in the freezer.
So first thing in the morning.
It's cold.
A lot of people's faces are puffy.
Happens to me all the time.
I like to sleep on my face.
Can't do it much now, but because I'm pregnant,
I don't know when I'll swell.
It just happens.
So I just roll.
Is that cold?
That's so cold.
It feels amazing.
So cold.
My lips are even swollen now, so don't ask me.
You can use it on your lips?
You just think everywhere.
And then I feel like sometimes it's good
like just underneath your eyes,
you just give a little press.
Lightly, you don't have to because it's cold,
but not unpleasant.
So I feel like I can do the same thing with the jade roller.
It's cold, but it's not frozen.
It didn't come out of the freezer.
Your puppy, just give it a couple minutes.
Usually this is in my nightstand.
I can do it before bed,
or I can do it before I do my makeup.
I love that.
I think I need to get one of these.
You do.
I feel like it's the perfect inexpensive purchase.
Ice roller, people.
Ice roller.
While Malika is doing all of her skincare regimen,
keeping her skin clean,
I'm gonna do a little fun glam.
I'm just using a face hydrating mist
because I like to keep my skin really moisturized
if I'm gonna add makeup to my skin.
I feel like that's important.
Don't you do that too?
I do, of course.
It's like a good little face.
I spray it on my skin a little bit,
and then I also put it on my sponge.
I think I'm going to start by cleansing my skin.
These little scrubbies, they're disposable,
but it's like a water-activated pad.
So when you wet this pad, it gets a little foamy.
I love those.
So the soap's already-
Yeah, in the pad.
It gets a little foamy.
You guys, you can buy these at a random drugstore.
Any drugstore.
And they're great to travel with too.
So if you don't want to carry all of your face wash
and all of that,
you still have face wash and one little pad.
So just toss it out.
You can't be lazy with your skin.
Your skin will look like you're lazy.
So yeah, I just go in,
and I'm like doing a light little buffing.
No, it's like, right?
I'm going to show you my go-to quick glam routine.
I'm going to start with a little makeup corrector
under my eyes,
because my eyes are just a little dark.
I have so many makeup brushes.
I don't discriminate.
I'm no makeup artist by any means,
so I don't know the best things to use,
but I do have some favorites.
I love MAC brushes.
Some of them I've had for a really long time,
so they last really long.
Now I'm just going to wipe down this little face of mine
to make sure I remove all the soap
so there's no residue on my skin.
A little wipe down here and there with a warm towel.
Did our first makeup experience come from mom?
Yeah, right?
I don't, I feel like as little girls,
we always played with makeup.
Like the little kids,
the makeup's like chalk.
So it goes on,
but if you like blow on someone's face,
it just like comes right off.
I used to think that ChapStick was lipstick.
I still really love ChapStick though,
so that's a beauty routine that stuck with me forever.
May that never change.
I think we really got makeup from our mother.
Our mom was a Mary Kay lady for a little while,
and we used to love to play in all the makeup
she would bring into the house
and sit at the parties with all the other women
and act like we knew what we were doing.
But I think we really learned how to do our own makeup
when we were on set.
Once you're getting your makeup done professionally,
you just start to learn the tricks.
They put makeup on babies.
Yeah, I was like,
I think the first time I had my makeup done on set,
I may have been like five.
But it was only like powder,
because it was a commercial,
so it wasn't a big deal.
But you could not tell me that powder,
blush, and ChapStick was not makeup.
I was like, oh, I went to work,
and they put makeup on me.
It was like the most exciting thing in the world.
So learning to pamper and take care of my skin
started so, so long ago.
I love it.
I don't get to wear makeup as much as I want.
Most of the time I wear makeup, I'm working.
But when I get a chance and we're doing something special,
it's like, oh, we're doing a project.
I think I should put some makeup on.
At least I know how to do it by myself now.
So I'm gonna do my second little cleansing.
One of my favorite products
is this Kiehl's Brightening and Exfoliating Daily Cleanser.
It's amazing.
I feel like it's brightened my skin so much.
I think it's important to treat your top layers,
but also get rid of those layers of skin
that you don't need,
like those dark spots or bright spots from blemishes.
And I like to use my hands.
I think it's good to feel the little morsels,
and then like really, you know, rub that thing in.
I'm starting to do a little bit of concealer.
So I love to highlight my nose as well as under my eyes.
I've got a little bit on my hands.
I'm gonna add a little bit of water to this.
Let's see me go to work.
Look at that.
Oh, that looks nice.
My at-home facial.
Isn't washing your face just gorgeous?
It's a sight to see right here.
Look at that.
Look at that good circle work right there.
It's gonna be a good clean face on your mallet now.
Now I'm gonna use my banana powder to set my concealer.
If I get a chance to do my makeup, I want it to last.
So I love these little small beauty blenders
because they can get close to my eye
without actually poking myself in the eye,
because I've done that numerous times.
I'm just gonna do a little bit down the center of my nose.
So I'm just gonna, again, wipe this off.
Wipe this second little cleanser off.
Be good to your skin, your skin will be good to you.
I've learned that.
It's weird, our acne as like teenagers was like heat bumps.
And then the biggest area of our face, our foreheads.
Whether you're wearing makeup or not wearing makeup,
you want to make sure that you feel good
about your masterpiece.
And that's your face.
I'm now going to apply my mint mask.
This is actually really good for acne prone skin.
And honestly, it's just good for your skin in general.
It's mint and yummy.
I want to smell.
How clean is it?
It's so clean.
Another very inexpensive product
you can find at a drugstore.
You guys don't have to break the bank
to take care of your skin.
I am a product whore.
I will try damn near anything.
But you do have to try things.
The good news is I've tried so much earlier on
that I've found the tools
and the things that really do work for my skin.
So now that it's not broke, I don't have to fix my system.
Also, when seasons change, my skin changes.
I really feel like a mask just helps you
balance out your skin tone.
I find doing clay masks and stuff like that,
they help not only with the blemishes,
but they help you restore balance.
See those pores?
Oh, so you can literally see it when you put it on.
I've never used, you didn't share this with me.
Oh honey, I'm sharing.
Yeah.
I am sharing.
Well lucky you, she shared with you first.
So while Malika is applying her mask,
I'll explain to you why I'm allowing this banana powder,
which is a translucent powder, to bake on my face.
I find, or I think literally the use for it
is to kind of get rid of the oils in your face
and to set your makeup.
And then you just kind of brush it off when you're done,
which I've kind of had it here for a while
so I could brush it off.
Oh, and I use the banana powder
because it highlights under my eyes and my T-zone.
I am very big on taking care of my lips.
They are the second biggest thing on my face.
So I am going to do-
What's first, Malika?
My five heads.
So I'm going to, or our five heads.
Our five heads.
I am going to do a lip scrub by MAC.
It is delicious.
It's actually like chocolate.
That does smell good.
Is it edible?
I wouldn't try it.
Look at that.
I trust me, when you put it on, you want to eat it.
I probably need that too.
So this just gives me something to do
while my mask just sets in.
Well, while she's doing that,
I'm going to contour my face.
While it seems like I'm spending a lot of time
on my foundation, it's because I am.
I don't actually do a lot of eyeshadow.
I'm more of a skin and contour and powder type of girl.
Yeah.
It just looks really weird.
You're going to be so soft, you're going to kiss me.
I think I'm done with that.
It's funny because years ago,
no one used to highlight their noses.
So everyone highlights their nose now
and everyone swears everybody's had a nose job.
Now quite a few people have.
Do whatever makes you happy.
But makeup can really help you achieve whatever.
Like everybody's jawlines are not that high.
Everybody's cheekbones are not that good.
But a little bit of makeup can help you achieve it.
Why not?
So I'm going to do a little bit of eyeshadow
and add like a darker shade of eyeshadow
to the crease of my eye.
Now I'm trying to jazz myself up.
You know, I'm just going to have a little bit of fun.
I'm going to do something that was done to me
at a prenatal spa.
While I was getting my facial,
I also was getting a belly facial.
Not going to do a belly facial right now,
but I'm going to moisturize my belly
with my favorite product, which is bio oil.
It really just, it's hydrating for your skin
and it helps improve like the scars and marks
and reduces your risk for getting stretch marks.
So that's very important to me.
Although I didn't get any stretch marks on my belly,
I did a lot of moisturizing.
It's a lot.
It's important.
They say sometimes stretch marks are hereditary,
but you never know.
Stretch is stretch is stretch.
My mom had three pregnancies, five kids
and doesn't have a stretch mark.
It's amazing.
Hey, little guy.
I'm using Murphy's eyeshadow palette.
This one has a lot of neutrals and warm colors.
So it kind of matches my skin tone
or pulls out some of the colors I naturally have on my skin.
So I'm just warming up my eyeshadow a little bit.
Love it here, just giving my baby a little massage,
you know?
You're so cute.
Just, you know, just loving on him a little bit.
I think it's pretty amazing what a woman's body can do.
I mean, I was impressed before I was pregnant,
but-
Obviously, because you're watching it.
I kind of feel like a superhero now.
I'm done with that.
Okay.
Look kind of snazzy for daytime.
Look at that.
No, it's just cute.
I'm into it.
I would date you.
If I was your husband, I'd take you on a date.
I know, that's a good idea.
Now I want to build my makeup.
Yeah, now you're done for the day.
I think it's time to get this mask off my face
because I'm struggling to talk.
We're going to go for it.
Yeah.
So a little warm water on a washcloth.
I'm just touching up my eyebrows a little bit
because I did the translucent powder
and I feel like I took the front of my eyebrows off.
I'm manipulating eyebrows.
I am.
They're not very thick.
Naturally, they don't grow that way.
I've had them microbladed,
but I still add a little eyebrow pencil.
This is one of my favorite ones.
L'Oreal.
A little brush around the end.
A little makeup on the other.
Scrub gone.
I remember growing up, we used to use a lot of Dove.
Dove original was like the go-to everything.
But there was nothing wrong with it until you got acne.
We're almost there.
We're almost to success.
Come off.
I think this mask really licks my skin.
After cleansing and exfoliating and doing a mask,
got to close up those pores.
I personally like Witch Hazel,
one of the oldest remedies
for cleansing and minimizing pores.
It's like you're a stringent, right?
A hundred percent.
While Malika's a stringing,
I'm going to do a little bottom lashes.
This obviously isn't my everyday go-to.
I don't have the time in the morning.
If I look at myself while brushing my teeth,
it's a shocker.
I usually take care of my kids in the morning,
getting ready for school,
but that's why I love doing this.
When I do have the time,
and it's usually with Malika or at work,
I get to put a little bit of makeup on.
I need some bronzer.
I have got to moisturize this skin.
I personally like La Mer Concentrate.
It is not the most inexpensive product,
but if you can spare one night out for dinner,
buy yourself this little liquid joy.
I'm gonna put a little bit of the concentrate on my skin.
La Mer is definitely a luxury.
Uh-huh, yeah.
But your skin deserves it.
Today I'm feeling like having a little fun.
So I'm gonna do a little blush as well.
And I'm gonna do my final step,
which is my ultimate moisturizer.
This is a vitamin E cream.
Another very inexpensive treat
that goes a very long way.
Vitamin E is so good for your skin.
It restores and helps you replenish.
And it has helped me get rid of a lot of these acne scars
that I've had during pregnancy,
because my biggest struggle during pregnancy
has been acne.
So I'm gonna put a little lip on,
because I'm feeling fancy today.
Ooh, can I do it?
Sure, you want to?
Are you using my lipstick?
I am.
That guy, yours truly.
You wanna do it?
Yes, I'll do your lip first.
Okay.
You're nerdy.
You can't laugh.
What you're narrating is hilarious.
This is so fun.
Are you making it dark?
No, just, can you just trust me?
If you say yes, I can do something, you have to trust me.
Okay.
This juicy thing down here.
Stop, you want your line to go across your face?
No.
Can I blot?
But I can't look?
Just.
I blot better if I can look in the mirror.
What, no!
Just stop it, young lady.
I feel like you're putting so much on.
Stop it.
I know how to work this.
Add a little face in the mirror.
Don't look, don't look, don't look.
Don't look.
Do you need a lip?
Stop it.
Lipstick brush?
I don't have anything else.
More lip liner?
Stop it.
Look, you're getting lipstick on your teeth.
Stop it.
Okay, okay.
Okay, I'm with that.
No.
Why not?
Stop.
You're a really bad customer.
That's not the lipstick line.
Stop, don't look.
Stop it.
Can you just, if you look, I'm gonna do it.
I'm not, but I don't want this.
I'm never doing your makeup again.
You're a liar.
I do love doing it.
None of my other clients are like this.
Okay, you are not a makeup artist so far.
Nice try.
Hold on.
Why don't you take a look?
Oh, look at your masterpiece.
Do you hate it?
No, I don't hate it.
I think it's a little bit much for you.
Oh, whatever.
It looks great.
I think you look pretty.
Say thank you.
I never look like this.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Guys, that's it.
We've got a fully natural face
and we've got a fully glam face.
This and that and that to this.
They get my point.
So I've shared my glam look with you
and I've shared my routine in the morning.
Why don't you comment below
and let us know what your beauty routine is.
God, this thing is magical.
So I've shared my glam with you and I feel gorgeous.
And she's gonna sit here with her lips like that
because she wants you to push down.
I don't know what the hell is going on now.
That's ******* wicked.
I don't know what the hell is going on.
I don't know what's happening.
I'm hungry.
Okay, we're gonna get it.
This is the last one.
