Our story returns home, where the Clippers seek their 12th win of the season.
Evita Zubats and the Clippers are 9-4 in their last 13 games and have found a nice comfort zone.
May be disrupted tonight, however, as Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets come to town.
Jokic of the Nuggets are healthy and ready to make a little noise.
With both teams having designs on winning the West, tonight could be a playoff preview.
At the bottom half, defensively, they give up a lot in the paint.
So, look for the Clippers to see if they can attack that area and take advantage of it.
When he moves to Denver, very good in the first quarter.
And, by the way, Marcus Moore, first basket once again.
I did exhaustive research today that I will share with you when I feel that it is appropriate.
As Bruce Brown knocks down.
Caldwell Pope lobs it in low left to Jokic.
Now Murray sheds his defender on the fly-by, pulls the trigger on.
Zoo comes up short. Nuggets out in front, finds the two.
Murray inside.
Jokic, the easiest rebound he has had all year, but a rare blunder inside.
He, too, is an elite finisher around the rim.
Man down the lane, down the hatch.
He will always be able to be on the mid-post.
Morris in his part-place with six to shoot.
Brown, a pesky defender.
Morris, surrounded by defenders.
He really didn't commit fully on the double-team, and Morris Sr. felt it.
Hesitated, spent back to the baseline and knocked it in.
He had a game-winning three on the pass that was absolutely incredible from Jokic.
Gordon, by the way, shooting 38% from the three-point line this year.
Three for three from the field, Clippers five of eight overall.
Gordon posting on Coffey, twisting into a double-team.
It's leaving Jokic open.
One out of two for Caldwell Pope.
Clippers down by two.
Mann swooping in, lays it in.
Net rating, so them getting off to a good start is not a surprise.
Shooting 57% from the field.
Murray misses.
Previous three have led to eight Nugget points.
Murray draws a crowd.
That leaves Caldwell Pope wide open.
That's a recipe for a disassociated MVP in deserving fashion.
Now he's got some weapons out west, and they're going to be a tough customer.
That is for sure.
Wall for three.
Oh, it was.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, you're not going to elaborate?
No.
Okay.
I'll have to.
I'll explain myself to Jay Hall.
You know what?
97, meaning Golden State.
They were 19 for 51, I believe it was.
So, with the assist, it's tough for them to get that.
But two Clippers took that away.
Donchar, feeling good, lets it fly.
And that went over the Thunder.
They work it outside to Najee.
Misses on the three.
They recover the loose ball.
They lob it back to Najee for the—
Smith, walled off by a couple of defenders, turns away.
Now fades, and Ishmith comes away with the rebuke.
And back the other way, lobs it up high to Blue.
The first five minutes in the last four minutes of the first quarter.
Berensman giving space up top.
Humphaken now sends it over to Reggie Jackson.
Late in the clock, and Reggie—
Has to take care of the basketball.
And continue, I think, to attack this Denver defense like that.
Clippers are here.
Again, it is all about the turnovers for this team here in the first 20 or so games.
Murray whips it to the corner to Ishmith.
And he flicks the wrist, and he—
Back misses on the three.
Terrence Mann reels in the loose ball for his third rebound.
Mann, from the line to the lane, to the rim, and in!
And with a minute—
—of the last 10 games, and reminding us of who he has been for the Clippers the last couple of years.
Jokic ladles it around—
—with the easy, easy two.
Jackson gets downhill on Jokic, walled off after he picks up his dribble.
Finds Mann—
Down the lane!
Him so tough to guard, because he's not stationary.
That time, caught the pass on the move, easy dunk down the lane.
Murray, a contestant, a lot of trouble.
And Miss Jackson had to come down and have some words with the principal.
Jokic inside, counted and a foul, I tell you what.
Nuggets, by the way, four turnovers and just six Clipper points.
Murray, Jokic, the flush.
Murray delivered right on time to Jokic.
Jokic, by the way, coming off a 39-point performance in that win over Oklahoma City.
Four minutes.
Nuggets can go two for one here.
They'll have the ball to start the third quarter as well.
The footwork by Murray, the touch by Jokic.
Clippers trail by 10, despite some very gaudy numbers offensively.
64% from the field.
Coffey in the corner.
Jackson turns the court, draws the ire of Jokic, lobs it up.
And their last game against the Thunder getting the start again tonight
for the ill Michael Porter Jr.
Gordon loved it the second—
—to play to me.
—I hear you, but I'm a believer in the letter of the law.
—Oh, stop it.
—You're not just a purist.
—Just stop, just stop.
That's frustrating, not just for the coach himself, but trust me, for the players as well.
—Clippers come in at 11.
It ain't just a game out of first place in the Western Conference.
—Coming out of the timeout with nine to shoot.
Here's Morris.
Gets a step on.
Murray gets off the window and in.
Marcus Murray.
Great possession for the Clippers.
Nice rebound inside by Gordon.
Clippers are down by 13.
Gordon attacks.
Just kind of hangs, gets hit.
Wall plays over to Morris.
Fluffs the three.
Drives into the paint.
Fluffs the 15-footer.
—Powell is alone in the corner for the three.
—You can go by with a slap here and then here.
That is what you're saying.
Yep.
—Wall, 58.
Rebound reeled in.
—Five to two, 90 seconds to play in the third quarter.
Govington.
Pop clean look at a three.
It's good again.
Wall, picked up by Smith.
Fast on fast.
Wall down the lane.
Off the window and in.
—2-3 zone right here.
I'll think 3-4 got a turnover.
—Wall with Chanchard to beat.
Takes it to the rim.
Blocked from behind.
—Wall from the wing to the lane.
Murray has been very good tonight for Denver.
Into Chanchard.
Recovers after a tough pass and lays it in.
Wall tonight, 8 of 10 from the field.
Murray the other way.
Gets into the heart of the defense.
Whips it up to Chanchard for the triple.
—Yeah, but it's when it comes to,
you want to be able to get a shot up in that possession.
—Murray midrange.
Knocks it down.
—Percent of the points for Denver tonight
have come off of Clippers miscues.
Here's another opportunity.
Murray out to the races.
He's going to add to the ledger.
Timeout Clippers.
—Boy, an unforced error.
That's a tough one.
They get lucky walking between raindrops there
as Murray misses the three.
Jackson back the other way.
Coasting in for the score.
—Murray down 101-84.
Clippers trail here on the fourth quarter.
Midway through.
The time is now.
Gordon gets easy inside.
—Incredible job of capitalizing off of the Clipper miscues
and then minimizing their own.
Only six turnovers for Denver,
and we have a wedgie.
Oh, it was a short-lived one.
—When the game is on the line,
as I've said before,
just endless admiration for players
that step up in the moment.
It goes 0-for-2 from the free guard to Wyatt Leonard.
Next week.
They've already been ruled out for Sunday.
Murray down the lane.
No rebound tapped up at end by Aaron Gordon.
Coffee out the window.
Dilted with a rebound.
Leads it ahead to Murray with man-to-beat.
Sidesteps off the window once again.
Aaron Gordon, which should trouble the rest of the league,
including the Clippers.
—Yeah, but, you know, if you're a basketball fan,
you'd love to see tomorrow Murray back.
But don't even complain and talk,
because the league is at its best, at our best.
When our best players are healthy and playing.
—100%.
You know, I have so much faith in the Clipper roster.
I wish health for everybody,
but you're just not yet 100%.
It sounds like it could be around the corner,
but there'll be work to do.
Thankfully, we're still in November,
and there is a ruling which may deal with,
you know, the multiple injuries to the key players.
—Ball movement for the Clippers,
but he heals and rehabs at their own rate.
Physically, Kawhi Leonard has looked very good.
Now, it's really about getting off the rush
and adding the minutes.
—India Hoop.
—The two to Covington.
Great pass in the corner to Kawhi for three.
It is good.
—Give me a work switch.
—Kawhi.
—Although I find it interesting that—
—Nine Clippers will get ready for Indiana
on Sunday afternoon,
which will not be an easy game for the Clippers.
—Hoping health returns sooner than later,
but Jamal Murray looking very good for Denver.
He had 21 for the Nuggets.
Clippers fall here tonight at Downtown L.A.
