I got the camera rolling. So today I have Ian here. What's your background more racing or just kind of Lifestyle lifestyle So you do everything you do a lot of skiing and so ski all winter Bike all summer do a little bit of filming for both. Okay Do you actually have a day job? I do have a day job. What's your day job? So we're part-time at a bike shop and then I do epoxy floors in garages, okay And then during the winter just two days a week at a ski shop I see you're on the shin destroyer 3000s, too I I have a few others, but like these are definitely my favorite. Do you ever clip in? The second I stopped raising it second, I stopped flipping it. Yeah, I like sitting down I'm not picky. I guess my only thing not easy. Does it or whatever? Yeah, just like kind of trying to pre hop and stay low. Yeah Cuz I saw Trevor do that yesterday, but what you just did was like so sick whether it was intentional or not Guess shall we ride the snow You're right at home Always like super paranoid. So I'm always like wiping my GoPro lens, but I have to say the new hero 10 has like a anti Like water repellent or whatever. So it does a really good job shedding any mud Okay That's a new one Your eggs it was different. Yeah, so the new GoPro does a really good job shedding any water What size bike are you on it large? Yeah, I don't think about going back to a medium to be honest. I've I've always stuck with a medium I'm 510. Okay, but like I go with like a 55 mil stem. Yeah, I Could be happy either way, but I've always just kind of liked a more nimble flicky bike I feel like I thought I wanted a longer bike, but I don't I also like riding over my front quite a bit. Yeah, so I like putting a lot of weight on my front wheel I've noticed I have to like really focus on getting weight on my front wheel now being on the longer bike Yep, like naturally I kind of hang off the that's pretty stock. Is it 62? Okay Was that when Ryan sent me a video that I still haven't watched is that when that videos from? Oh unreal. Yeah So the year we did the third segment it was like Okay, and then there's me Thomas Vanderham Maddie miles And I think all together they spent like 12 12 or 14 days in the bike park And it was pretty crazy. Like are you getting p-pods? Yeah, basically bought BC at a p-pods Like 600 bales of it. So you'd go into the trail beforehand Okay Yeah Third day of filming I like wash my front end scrubbing it Proceeded to write myself off my front wheel didn't have any traction. Yeah, so like picking forward pretty Through my bike and smoke my Yeah, what's going on How you doing guys so I got pitched forward it cuz I couldn't get rid of my bike Yeah, and it I'm just like right off my chin Broke six ribs punctured my lungs separated my shoulder and broke my wrist and then basically at the clinic They diagnosed me with concussion and sent me home So ended up going back to the clinic and they pull up my x-rays and on the x-ray You can see my right lung is like totally just deflated That winner It's like skiing in my cast get my cast off Two months later. I hit a rock skiing into a pit tomahawk up rock and land in a bunch of boulders Crack through the middle of my shoulder blade knocks my bike again knocks my head quite hard Ended up same thing like skied myself out drove myself to the clinic Three years in a row. I think you had pretty severe concussions. Yeah, and then I've just started to like really Tone back quite a bit. That was when I stopped racing. Yeah, how old are you? Okay, yeah 31 now 31 I keep saying 32, but Remember it just happens. I'm constantly reminded as I scroll further and further down on the what's your age? As much as I like riding bikes and working on stuff I hate working on bikes Like I'll work on something that like I don't have to like depend on for like fun But working on like something that I need to have fun on it's like dude Just fix yourself so I can go do something. I wish there's like one other way to get over there Any sneaky lines on easy does it Right Yeah Gets will ride opposite foot forward or something. Oh That's ever fun to see I Want to try his sitting down method of turning? Looks kind of fun. I never rode moto. I know that's pretty common that little wiggle is so like intimidating Spoke a little too soon. I've I've almost done that We can't bring that line back. All right Just best jump around actually I take that back two jumps before it I'll make anything where you can kind of like hip out into the landing. Yeah That's why like a line is so like good. It's like you have your landing you can come up short, but if you want to go far There's space. Yeah It's the most well-built jump trail. It's hard to Like compare other trails to it They'd never be able to build it now because there'd be so many trails where that trail run Yeah, so purely just because it's been around for so long. It's I've always had like that perfect kind of like fall line Yep, the terrain just works. So well for a jump trail Sorry boogie.
