Have you given your loved ones a present yet?
If you are looking for a meaningful gift,
let's make a bouquet like this together with me.
All you need is a box with all the necessary tools.
You can leave the instructions at home.
I have prepared everything you need for beginners,
such as cotton, colorful wool, and scotch tape.
Especially, there is a set of 3 needles with a long-lasting, thick, and useful wool.
Hold the needle firmly.
And finally, a piece of linen fabric has drawn the shapes of the parts of the bouquet.
We just need to sew and cut it.
First, let's put the needle into the fabric to practice sewing first.
There are 2 parts of the needle.
Put the part with the knot on top,
the part without the knot at the bottom of the fabric.
Pull the fabric tight.
And remember to always let the fabric tight during the sewing process.
Finally, you tighten the knot.
The needle in the kit has 3 sizes, large, medium, and small.
Suitable for 3mm, 2mm, and 1mm wool.
Because May uses 7 cups of cotton wool, we will use the smallest needle size and 1mm wool.
Put the needle into the needle holder to make the needle needle about 2.5 cm long.
You tighten the knot on the needle body.
Use the wool thread to pass through the round hole at the top of the needle through the needle body.
You tighten the button at the tail so that the wool thread can pass through.
Pass the wool thread through the wool thread and pull the thread back.
The wool will be pulled to the top of the needle.
Remove the wool thread and pull the wool thread back
so that the wool at the top of the needle is about 5 cm long.
Remember that the wool thread must pass through the round hole at the top of the needle like this so that the wool thread will not fall off.
Before sewing, let's observe the top of the needle.
We will often follow the direction of the needle.
For example, when sewing from the bottom up, the needle will often go up.
And when going horizontally like this, the needle will also go horizontally.
When sewing up like this, the needle will also turn in the direction of the sewing line.
The needle will always go up and smooth in the direction of the needle.
First, let the needle go down to the end of the needle.
Then lift the needle up and push it down the first stitch about 1-2 mm.
Always push the needle all the way down.
Continue to sew the stitches together.
The more evenly the stitches are sewn, the more beautiful the wool will be.
Do not sew too thick.
If it is too thick, it will make the wool thread just tangled and not fluffy.
It is not beautiful, but it takes a lot of wool and time.
During the process of sewing, people have to remove the wool thread continuously
and do not put anything to put in or hold the wool thread when the wool thread is tight and makes the wool thread fall off.
Hold it with both hands until all the wool thread is gone.
At the end, you don't need to tighten the button, you just need to cut it to make a piece like this.
Because it will be glued to fix it later.
Some mistakes that beginners can encounter.
The first mistake is that the needle is too high.
The needle is too high, making the wool thread tangled, making it more difficult to sew.
To fix it, we should only tighten the needle tightly.
If the needle is too high, pull the wool thread slightly,
slowly pull the wool thread, then increase the speed.
The second mistake is that the needle is not all the length of the needle.
If you only put the needle in the middle, but not all the length of the needle,
it will make the back of the wool thread uneven.
The wool thread is short and easy to fall off,
so we have to put all the needles down so that the wool thread is really even.
If you follow it correctly, the back of the wool thread will be even like this.
In addition, if you want to fix a mistake,
all you have to do is pull the wool thread and use your hands to gently rub the fabric so that the hole is not too big.
However, you should not fix it too many times because the fabric will be damaged and not be able to hold the wool thread.
Some of you have texted May to sew, but have to run out of wool.
Why is that?
Even though May finished sewing, it was still quite loose.
There are a few reasons that you may not have noticed after watching the tutorial video leading to this situation.
The first reason is that everyone stitches the needle too close to each other.
In the tutorial video, May said that everyone stitches the needle 1-2mm apart,
should not stitch too thick.
If it is too thick, it will make the fabric just bended and not fluffed.
It's not beautiful, but it takes a lot of wool and time.
When sewing to use the wool thread,
with the threads on the outside, we can sew 1mm.
In this way, the wool thread will be held tighter.
As for the middle of the fabric with the details inside,
we should sew about 2mm apart.
Note that you just rub and look at the back so that the adjustment is not too thick.
The second reason is that everyone may have left the needle too long.
The needle should only be about 2.5cm long as the guide.
Because of that, the wool of the fabric will be long and thick enough.
If the needle is too long, it will not only make the fabric bent, but also cost a lot of wool.
So as long as you follow the guide correctly, you will not run out of wool.
Have you mastered the basic skills?
Practice well and then we will sew together on the main fabric.
For the fabric, I have already prepared the front and back sides of the fabric for everyone.
The front part will have more colors, so we will practice first.
The frame and the front side like this.
Remember the frame is really tight and pull the fabric tight to make it easier to sew.
During the sewing, the fabric may be wrinkled.
It needs to be adjusted to make the fabric really tight.
Here we will follow the small details first, such as eyes, nose, cheeks.
With the small circles, we will sew from the outside to the inside
Until when you find the shape, pull the needle out and cut.
Remember that when you finish, do not cut the needle too short, otherwise it will be bent.
After following all the small parts, we will follow the body part.
Does it look quite simple, everyone?
In fact, it's even simpler than making a video.
Because there is not much technique, but you just need to put your hands together and you have a beautiful product.
Children under the age of 13 are almost confident to practice this skill.
Now for the scarf part.
If you want to make the scarf longer than the fabric to create a 3D feeling,
we can adjust the length of the needle.
The length of the needle will determine the length of the fabric,
so it depends on your preference.
We should follow all the same colors to save time.
For example, here, after following all the red colors, May just switched to white.
After one side is done, everyone, let's flip it over to see what our result is like.
You can see that the fabric is very even.
After that, to fix the yarn so that it does not fall off, this is the tip.
Use the glue that May has prepared for everyone in the kit to apply evenly to the fabric.
Remember to apply it to the face without rubbing.
With this type of cream, after drying, everyone can wash their hands gently.
However, do not wash too hard and wash too many times.
While waiting for the glue on the front side to dry, we will apply it to the back side.
And then remember to apply the same amount of glue so that the yarn will not fall off.
The glue has dried, now we will cut along the edge of the ground to start the sewing process.
Remember to cut the horn and the ear along the ground.
This is the result after cutting.
The front and back of the body.
4 pieces of fabric for sewing the horn and 4 pieces of fabric for sewing the ears.
Use the following instructions in the kit to sew.
The following instructions include 6 small strips.
When sewing, we only need to cut a short piece of yarn, then pull it apart to get 2 strips to sew.
Start sewing the small parts first, such as the ears and horn, to get used to it.
Remember to sew along the seam line on the fabric, not along the seam line.
After sewing, we will cut the yarn to make it less bulky, then pull it apart.
You can use a pair of scissors to help pull it apart.
Sew the bottom part to create a frame for the ears.
That way, the ears will look more natural.
We will not sew the ears.
Sew the bottom parts together.
Remember to sew the right and left sides together.
After sewing the bottom part, we will use the presser foot to press the seam allowance.
Pressing the seam allowance like this will help the curves of the fabric not to be wrinkled.
Cut the seam allowance in the middle of the presser foot.
Next is the right side.
Now we just need to sew the seam allowance on the outside.
It sounds difficult to call it a seam allowance, but actually we just need to insert the needle into the inside of the fabric,
instead of inserting the needle through the whole fabric to the outside.
It's very easy, isn't it?
When it comes to the position of the ears and the seam, we just need to insert the needle into the seam and continue sewing.
Finally, after sewing, we just need to insert the needle and cut the thread,
and we have completed a beautiful Christmas tree for this Christmas season.
This set is easy to make and has a wide variety of applications.
With the needle and frame that Mai has prepared for everyone,
everyone can freely create.
I wish everyone a warm and cozy Christmas season.
And don't forget that Mai has many other Christmas kits waiting for everyone to discover.
See you in the next videos. Bye bye.
