Hey everyone, I'm Mrs. Teal and today Savannah is going to show us how to create
one of these origami pocket books. And this is how it works. You like push this up from
this little slot and you can put stuff in here like coupons, um your money stickers,
or you can put letters from your friends. So we need one rectangle of paper and then three
squares. Yeah and you can use glue and you'll need any kind of marker we're gonna use or any
like colored pencil or just a plain pencil or you could even use a crayon and you'll also
need scissors. You can use decorations to put on here. Okay so now I'm going to show you
how to make the inside pocket of your pocket book. Fold it in half like this
and then you're gonna open it back up and you're gonna fold it to that line like that.
So you're folding it to the fold line? Yes. When you're done you're gonna turn it the long way
like this and you're gonna fold it up in half again and then you're gonna do the same thing
and fold it up to the fold line. When you're done with that, do you see that little thing
right here? Like the flap? Yeah the flap. You're going to put this flap down like this so that
kind of looks like a triangle. Oh it's a diagonal? Yeah and then you're gonna press it down here
and you're gonna do the same thing to the other side. Remember put it down. If it's hard that's
okay. Kind of push your finger up into the corner there. You're gonna push it down like that.
It might kind of start looking like a house. Yeah I totally see it. It does look like a house. And
then you're gonna do the same thing to the other side. Okay remember pull it from here
under to there. I'm gonna do it. You didn't turn mine. Yeah you should turn.
Okay so so it's like you want the fold to be corner to corner of this square.
It helps me to think of it like that. Press it down. Okay and do you see that little part?
You're gonna put your thumb in and then you're gonna push it with your pointer finger
down like that. So I'm gonna hold this down? Yeah and then you're gonna push it like that.
Okay and then do the same. Remember push it. I'm gonna hold this down and then you're gonna push
it. It's like it's making it into a square. Yeah it should make it into a square like that.
Now it looks like a boat. Yeah and then you're gonna turn it around. You always have to turn
it around. And then you're gonna push this like that. So do we repeat the same thing? Yeah you
repeat the same thing. Hold this side down. I need to hold that down. That helps me. Like this.
Okay it should look like this. Okay after you do that you see these little flaps here?
You're going to push it down. Push it down and then do the same thing.
And then you're gonna want to turn it around because if you don't turn around it might mess
your pocket up. Okay I'm gonna push it down. Do it again so that there isn't a line just in the
middle. Okay now. Oh I see so there should just be a line in the middle now. Okay now you should
turn it so that the line is up like that. Right side up and then you're going to push it like
this. So I'm folding it like this way? Yeah and push it down so that it's like this. Then you're
going to open it. And then what you're going to do is you're gonna take your glue tape or hot glue
gun if you have one or anything that's sticky. And you're going to see right here you're gonna
open that part up and only do it on the part to see so that. Oh so I'm only gonna wait. You're
only gonna do it yeah on that triangle. And then you're gonna do the same thing. So on the outside
corner. So yeah see that triangle right here where my thumb is? You're gonna glue only on that
triangle. Nowhere else. We do this side too? Yeah you also have to do the other side. So I'm only
gluing on the outside corner triangles. Now you're gonna take it and you're gonna put it in half.
Kind of looks like Dracula. Okay so you put them in? Yeah like that. Okay you're gonna take your
glue and you're going to put them together. And you have to make sure that they're all
face up like this because if they're not it'll turn out like this.
So you're going to glue it on here. So I'm gonna put glue here. Okay I can handle that.
Face up. So okay so I want food. Yeah like that. Okay now it's time for this long piece of paper.
What you're gonna do you're gonna put it like this and it doesn't matter if it's in the middle
or not. You're going to fold it like that all the way down so that it's the same size.
Then you can take it out. Now you're gonna use your glue stick and you're going to
glue down the line and so that you can put it here. And then you're going to
glue on this at the very top like that. And then you're gonna glue here. Then you're gonna put it
up like that all the way up. Then you're gonna turn it around. See and then you are going to
Now it's time for your scissors. You're going to cut it a little tiny bit.
Then you're gonna fold it down. Remember it'll be like that and then you'll fold it like this.
So after you do that don't throw the scraps away. You want to cut it about
so that it's like an inch. One inch. So it would like go like that so that this part can go there
and then it will go on top of it like that so that it will make it stick. Use your glue stick.
Onto here. You're going to see right here. You're going to put that down right here
like that. Then you're gonna bring it around to the other side like this.
And there. So after you do your little strap to put it in you're going to make a little flap
like this and do it again to the other side like that. Then you're going to carefully open it like
this and do you see your little triangle line? You're going to press the middle in like that
and then you're going to do that and then press it like that. So kind of invert the colors. Yeah see.
Now I'm going to glue here. Push it down. Now you are going to put it in like this.
That's so cool. And then time to decorate. Yay! Okay if you're making a horse or a unicorn you
could do little hearts or you could just do circles with a little nose. Just gonna do that
like on the side. We're making a horse so I'm gonna do the hair right now and you also want
to do the eyes. I'm gonna make her clothes. After you do that you can choose whatever color you want.
I'm choosing pink for its hair. You can put on your decorations. I'm gonna put on her ears first.
So you're going to just glue it on the top right here and then you're gonna put it on
like that. You can put little... I'm gonna do little roses and leaves and if you want to do
you can. I'm going to do them. So you can do any animal you want really. Yeah. Here's what it looks
like when you open it up. Ours isn't totally dry yet so you're very careful. These little pockets
here here here here here and here. Can't wait to fill it up with notes and money.
Maybe stickers would be a great place to put stickers too.
I hope you like our origami pocket book horse. Thanks for watching. Bye!
