Leonardo da Vinci (April 15, 1452 - May 2, 1519) was an Italian painter, draftsman, sculptor, architect, and engineer, whose tallent epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal more than any other figure. His Last Supper (1495-98) and Mona Lisa (c. 1503-19) are two of the most well-known and influential Renaissance paintings. His notebooks reveal a scientific curiosity and mechanical ingenuity that were centuries ahead of their time.
Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni (6 March 1475 – 18 February 1564), known as Michelangelo, was a painter, sculptor, architect, poet, and engineer. He and Leonardo da Vinci are both referred to as "Renaissance Men," which signifies their exceptional talent in a variety of fields. One of his masterpiece, "David" marble sculpture was an icon of the entire age, and is probably the most famous statue in art history.
For more than a thousand years, skills that realistically depict the world in three dimensions above a flat canvas have been lost. The Renaissance rediscovered perspective. That represents a huge advancement for architecture, which draws its inspiration from the massive, symmetrical structures of antiquity.
The Renaissance revived the art oflarge-doom architect, which had been lost throughout the Middle Ages.
