wow this is so cool! i have made it to switzerland. i am in switzerland. this is so
crazy and you can see me vlogging. i am in geneva and oh my gosh it's beautiful. like there's the
lake is beautiful, you can see the mountains. oh it's so pretty and thank god they speak french
and english here because i would be very confused. and i just made it to my airbnb so this is my
little room. it's really tiny but it's very like all i need for two days. so it's a bed
and then you have like a little thingy to put your stuff in and stuff. now i'm just kind of
like freshening up because i am gonna head to the united nations because i have always... it's been
a dream of mine to work for the united nations. i don't know if that's still like a a dream that
i'm still like for sure working towards but it was something that i really wanted to do
a couple of years ago. i really wanted to work for the united nations and that was like my dream
and so i know they have their main office one of their i don't know if it's their main office or
one of their main offices in geneva so i'm gonna go see it because i mean yeah and it's only open
from monday to friday and today's friday so i gotta do it today. so i'm gonna go get food.
i'm gonna like freshen up keep freshening it up freshening it up. i'm gonna keep freshening
getting freshed up. i'm gonna eat first and then i'm gonna go to the united nations and i'm here
by myself which i do already feel lonely. i think it's because i've been solo traveling
so much that i already feel lonely being here by myself but it's okay. my mom is coming
to france to see me next week so the solo traveling is almost over. it's almost done.
even though i really recommend solo traveling, it can be very lonely if you've been doing it
for a while. i mean i haven't been doing it for a long time but i mean a lot of my trips lately
have been solo. so yeah so i am gonna get ready and then we're gonna go. we're gonna go eat. i'm
so i got my badge. oh there's stuff on my camera. it's like it looks like i work here
but no. i'm going inside now and you literally so you get your badge like on the other side
of the street and then you have to cross the street. this place is huge but i am going inside!
okay so i'm at lake... okay so i looked it up because you know i used a math and i looked
it up. it's called lake or lac les mers. there's like a lot of people walking around
as expected when it comes to vlogging in public in different countries but yeah the united nations
was so so cool. it was like it was amazing. it was really interesting to see like the different
things and the different conferences that have happened in the different rooms that we were
sitting in and also he was telling us how each of the different conference rooms has been designed
a specific way. so for example there was one conference room that we went into and it was
designed like a desert because it was so the construction of that conference room was donated
by nairobi? is it nairobi? so basically a specific country donated like a bunch of money to that
conference room and so because they donated so much money they designed it like that country
which was really cool. so they designed it as a desert. so spain donated money to construct a
different conference room and so the the man who actually designed or came up with the concept of
the entire conference room he kind of made the ceiling look as if it were the bottom of the ocean
but flipped upside down which like that's so cool and also he like splattered a bunch of
different colored paint all over the ceiling so that depending on where you're sitting in the room
you have different perspectives and you see different colors and basically what he was trying
to get at by doing that and designing it that way was to show that people from different countries
who all come from all over the world to that conference room to talk about human rights they
have they all have different perspectives they can all come from different countries and make
a consensus about human rights which is so cool but yeah so that was really cool that's like
checked off of my bucket list i've wanted to go so bad and i'm just so happy that i actually got
the opportunity to see it so cool so if you're in geneva you have to go to the united nations and
then also right across the street was the um the red cross the red cross museum i think it's a
museum uh yeah the red cross museum is right across the street which is really cool and i also want to
go to that but i don't know if i have enough time i wanted to get back to the lake area before it
got too dark so that's why i came back what else is i going to say oh yeah and then there's also
the there's a watching watches museum that i really want to go to and that's also i passed
by it it's basically the history of watchmaking which switzerland is known for their watches so i
thought it was so cool the brand mont blanc is named after like the actual monument mont blanc
that is like right across from like where i'm standing which is really cool i'm kind of glad
i came here you know as my solo trip because it's not as overwhelming as if i were to go to like
i don't know i think if i were to go to paris for example well i did go to paris on my own
what am i talking about if i were to go to paris like well i'm living there but if i were to go
there like completely on my own i don't think i would love it as much so i think that geneva is
one of those places that you can definitely go and go by yourself and it's not it's not too bad
it's not like super crazy lonely as i thought it was going to be when i got here um but yeah
so now what am i going to do i'm going to try to take some pictures on my self-timer because
honestly i would ask someone to take a photo of me but every time i ask people to take photos
of me i get really awkward and i just like don't enjoy it and it comes out looking like ---- so
i um got the picture though i got a couple pictures so i'm really happy about that
but i actually am freezing my ass off right now i took my jacket off so i can like show off this
top that i bought i got this top from and other stories if you're wondering and i love it it's so
cute and so i wanted to show off the top so i took my jacket off but i'm about to leave
and i really want fondue so fondue is really huge here in switzerland i don't know if it's
or if it's a switzerland thing but fondue is big either way and i really want some so on the way
to um on the way out from my airbnb i saw this one fondue restaurant and i don't know if they're
still open um but i need to get here while i'm here so i kind of think i'm gonna do it tonight
and it's kind of almost dinner time it's like 4 30 maybe it's 5 by now um but yeah i'm very excited
about fondue and um what else what else what else what else yeah i'm freezing my ass off i got the
picture there was a family staring at me and i'm gonna go get fondue i don't know if i should get
it now well it depends on even like if the restaurant is open or not so i'm gonna check
out and see if the restaurant is open but i am gonna say though that i have come a long way
with vlogging in public like all those people that just passed by they were they were looking
at me they were staring at me but i do it for the vlog i gotta do it for the vlog so i i'm getting
better i'm getting less awkward about people like staring at me obviously i did have to re-say a lot
but um yeah anyways so i'm gonna go see if the restaurant is still open i really hope it's still
open so this is the fondue place it's called cafe bon vin c'est spécialité de fondue so
looks like it's open because there's a guy there so
oh my gosh never mind it doesn't open until what is that 6 30.
hello let me pause this music before i get coffee as you can see it's the next morning and i
i'm trying to log into my gmail because i wrote out an itinerary of things that i wanted to do
so i didn't reference it yesterday because i knew that the united nations was like the top
thing i wanted to do so i'm trying to log into it now so i can see what things i wrote down
um and the wi-fi password isn't working need food i need breakfast because i'm starving
and i yelped this place i found this place and it's called birdie and it's here in geneva and
i thought that i wanted to go because it looks right up my alley they have like coffee and teas
and like brunch food type of stuff and so i'm gonna do that i'm gonna go get oh my god
so i'm trying to get from here to here so i'm waiting for the train for the bus
the basic idea is
that there's a groove that i can follow that's exactly right for right for me
sometimes when i try to reason yeah you don't seem to listen at all
i don't know if it's just a feeling or if we are about to fall
if we stay here longer
hey
but with you i can see it's
okay i'm using my there's a hair i'm using my scarf and a pillow and hat for this tripod right
now but hi it's many hours later what time is it oh my phone's dead but it's charging
it's i think it's like 11 ish at night i finished packing because i leave
geneva tomorrow morning my train is like it's at like 7 45 in the morning so it's really early
but it's okay because usually i look forward to like grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning
on my way to wherever i'm going it's just nice it's nice um so i'm gonna be arriving in paris
at like 10 45 ish in the morning which is nice i don't i think the last thing i told you was that
i was going into the patek philippe museum i really enjoyed that museum it was so cool i think
i really enjoyed it because the um the tour guide was really really nice she was this older woman
and she was so funny and really knowledgeable obviously you have to be knowledgeable as a
tour guide but she was just like she she knew everything about everything in terms of that
museum and it was a watches museum and it's just so fascinating because it's one of those things
that it's not something i would usually be interested in and i don't think that many
people would be interested in but i just learned so much about the history of watches and watch
making i didn't even know i didn't know anything about what she was talking about i had no
knowledge at all and now i feel like i appreciate watches obviously i didn't really give them too
much thought before but now i appreciate them so much more and it's crazy it's like it's not even
just about a watch it's about like fashion and just it's about power too and it's so crazy it's
so interesting but i also wanted to try this so i bought myself some swiss chocolate at the
actually out of all places at the united nations uh gift shop and they have this uh
i don't know how to say that brand but i saw it and i was like oh so i'm gonna try it on camera
oh my god this angle is so bad how do i okay it's very smooth made with 100 cocoa butter
it's actually delicious delicious wow it's so good i freaking loved this trip i think it was
amazing even though it was a very short and sweet trip obviously it was only a weekend trip um
i still had a great time and i actually had a moment where i was in the park today
and i almost started crying it was really strange it was a really weird
feeling i was just walking around in the park i think i had a moment of like of appreciation for
where i was and a moment of just like wow i i think yeah i had a moment where i was like wow
i'm in switzerland like not many people at least that i know have the chance to go to switzerland
like i don't know i think i had a moment of deep appreciation and feeling very grateful for being
where i was in that moment and i think the sun was shining people around me were happy
and i think that just really touched me and touched my heart and just made me feel really
just really grateful and nostalgic in a way is can i even use nostalgic in this context
i don't know i just felt very um yeah actually yes i felt nostalgia for a moment that i was
currently living in i don't know if this has ever happened to you but have you ever had nostalgia
of a moment you're living in because you know it will become a memory does that has that ever
happened to you i don't know i don't know if i'm explaining myself like i knew that moment was
going to be a moment that i'm going to remember when i get older and it's going to be like these
are the moments that i'm going to remember forever and when i'm like when i have kids i'm going to
tell them like i went to switzerland when i was young and i was in my 20s my early 20s and i went
alone and i was scared but i um not just switzerland but all the trips that i've been doing here
in europe um i know these are going to be the moments that i'm going to remember
as the moments where i learned to be by myself and enjoy being with myself
and um yeah so i i had a moment where i was just really like nostalgic even though i was living
that moment i knew it was gonna be a moment it was gonna that was gonna become a memory
so yeah so that's kind of sad that's sad why is that sad anyways but i'm gonna see if my movie is
um is downloading because it was like it was um you know the wheel of death so it wasn't playing
and um yeah i'm gonna finish it now
