CHINESE vs. KOREAN Noodles, Dallas LEGENDARY BBQ & H-mart FOOD REVIEW

It's 3 p.m.. In the afternoon. I haven't had a single bite of food today This is the perfect eating weather, so let's get some food This is definitely the most popular Plaza in Carrollton So you got the Super H Mart over there and just a ton of great restaurants surrounding it I filmed here once already, but there's a bunch of place. I didn't get to namely Pike's noodles This is my favorite Korean noodle combo the jajangmyeon and the sweet and sour pork Gotta eat the sweet and sour pork right away while it's still crispy and hot I don't know if you were able to hear that. There's a subtle little melody of a crunch meat is deliciously tender This thing is so pretty You can tell from the outside. I think it's crispy. I wish this place offered a bigger size version of this dish My only complaint would be it's gone too soon Dumplings are good nice and crispy super thin outer wrapper Juicy juicy pork is a little pricey about a dollar dumpling, but those are good dumplings the main event Well I missed this jajangmyeon hands-down my favorite Korean noodles In this place noodles cook perfectly nice and chewy got that great texture on the sides some onions soaked in that fermented black bean sauce Provides a mild little crunch and a ton of great aroma Plus you got the added bonus The perfect condiment it's raining outside Am I the only one who thinks eating when it's raining outside just the coziest thing you can do especially something warm and hearty like This and this is still breakfast for me So I'm gonna eat this and walk around this plaza and see what else we can find actually I know we're gonna go next. I just saw our next door. I mean let me finish this first be like 10 seconds Whoa Welcome to Texas all right this next place going to right next door I Love going to Korean places where as soon as I walk in they speak Korean to me, okay, so this place I'm at is called Cheongju so it's a congee place. They also have dental boxes I Don't know what's good here Oh Pumpkin juke, red bean juke. Oh these are great mung bean juke. I think their number one special is the oyster juke this thing Looks and smells so good sesame and I think a little powder sweet seaweed on top as well fresh Plump oysters you get a lot for $10. This is a big bowl of congee Well this is no joke well it is, but it's not you know what I mean This is freaking fantastic seafood flavor. It's not intense. It's very subtle and the texture is just great. It's dense. It's creamy Oh, I didn't even mix it a lot. There's some chilies in there, too Mmm It's actually so good you got the crunch from the carrots and the bean sprouts nice creamy texture from the rice and let's try this oyster For those of you who miss eating Porridge or congee in the morning. I think this is where you go. I'll tell you honestly. I've said this many a times I'm not a fan of congee. I'm not a fan of porridge. This is so good Also, there's a strong peppery flavor to it too. I taste some peppercorn in here. Yeah, I do. It's a little nummy Wow this is delicious. I did a lot of pepper to make this burn a little more. This whole thing just has that really nice slightly briny flavor from the seafood They brought more of these little banchan I guess you can just put But this stuff is great. It adds to the different texture and flavor of the joke Hmm Actually, no that's not true when I was in Jeju. I had a I had abalone joke. I think this is better Hmm there's a Korean auntie over there. I Think she just runs everything. She's the cashier though the waitress the hostess Maybe the cook too. I don't know. I love tiny little places like this. It's raining like crazy We're just gonna duck into this H Mart and get some stuff on the food court Fresh rice cakes never had these Brenda they pop their syrup inside. Yeah. Whoa. Look at this biggest jalapeno poppers Our jalapeno poppers always this big in Texas, I'm gonna take this Some pork giant cake trotter Bubble waffle, I do love rain, but really only when I'm inside No, it's good. It's chocolate and peanut butter inside every single little bubble. It's so warm and toasty. It's gonna make anybody feel better This is definitely a bad mood kind of food eat a couple of these put a smile on your face Try some ice cream with this dope ice cream and this would have been so great I gotta figure out a way to get to my car and get home. This is definitely not as fun This is when these Vessi shoes really come in handy So got some food and go home I'm gonna put on an episode of warehouse 13 Just enjoy my rainy night Enjoying the rain while I'm inside. That's what I like it. I Say I have my air fryer here. I'm sure this would have been much much much better Even in the microwave don't not too bad The outside is pretty thick and doughy That's my least favorite part, but the inside the peppers the cheese nice little bits of ham. That's the best part Spicy creamy cheesy meaty Hmm yeah, I got an air fryer. I took out the outside really crispy What am I even better just half of that sitting on my mouth on fire because it kept all the season That's the source of the jalapeno power I'm happy because I think it'll actually go really well with the other two things. I bought This is actually really good, especially if you get a piece of a nice piece of fat in the middle like this piece right here And this is something I always crave just a big old pork trotter Cut a piece off dip it in a dipping sauce That might be my favorite thing tonight nice chewy Gelatinous skin super tender pieces of pork still to this day one of my favorite things to get in South Korea It's got everything I love so if you want a fattier piece of meat go over here a little leaner go for this Little crunch go for this And a little cheesy go for this and this I'm gonna pull up warehouse 13 on this and this is gonna be a great post Dinner dinner I do miss eating out And I do like eating out, but just being home and just being in a safe space and just eating delicious food Watching whatever I want to watch I said this before this is my favorite pastime All right, see you tomorrow Oh, it is coming down hard today the restaurant balloons opens in one hour So hopefully it gets a little brighter what I do pretty much every morning She's doing final reviews on all my videos making sure it's good It's sort of fun, and it's also the cringiest part of my job because I hate watching myself like oh my gosh Why does someone eat like this? But that still make me a little hungry That's a good bite Mike This is Cadillac barbecue this place just opened look at this line They're offering beer People waiting in line who does that? That's pretty cool It's been cool pretty fast we've been in line for about a 30 some minutes And look at look at this line just continues to form. I would say get here early if you want a bite This week's feature items pork steak Wow so this place has a lot more meat selection than all the other barbecue places I've been to so burnt ends. They have they have turkey pork ribs check this out wagyu beef bologna I want a wagyu beef bologna, and I never wanted bologna before they also have chopped whole hog That's hot fodder, which is a sandwich the pit boss Wow look at this Wagyu beef bologna whoa Basically what's been happening to me is that I've been craving barbecue about twice a week So even though I've been eating a lot of barbecue since coming to Texas. I still crave this a lot Holy, but Jesus okay, they give us pork crackling as well. This is the pulled pork. We got basically every sort of meat This is the chopped hog right here got the pork ribs wagyu bologna burnt ends Massive beef rib and of course fatty brisket the first thing I notice it's just the amount of cracked pepper that's on top of this beautiful smoke ring Permeating through the meat got a nice couple a little crunchy cartilage bones in there This is what I'm really interested in wagyu beef bologna look at this You can see how juicy and tender this thing is fatty brisket how freaking pretty is this? Glistening middle piece of fat gorgeous smoke ring all this is tender look how nice and tender this is and this is the crown Jewel again covered in black pepper. Let me see if I can even pick this up without it falling apart on me Crown jewel of a beef rib holy, but Jesus this is my favorite thing in Texas barbecue It's like a meat fountain Slightly touch it and it just juices flows out and again the meat look at how easy pulling a little bit with a plastic fork Falls apart like me watching Forrest Gump sexiest part is just really the outside though This thing looks like it's been obliterated with pepper the bologna again covered in chilies and spices all right Let's get down to business. I Know I'm gonna work up a sweat with this meal first bite always has to be the beef rib That is a Smoky peppery bite you see the smoke it penetrated through the entire rib you see that when you break through the crust It's just glorious evidence of smoke everywhere One bite will just sink you into this peppery smoky juicy bliss Again like all beef ribs. Let's be very gentle with it Don't need a bite it just a subtle kiss is enough Never had a bad beef rib in Texas anywhere And what's really different about this one is that the pepper flavor is so pronounced I love it sitting my mouth on fire now usually with pepper this thing actually brings on the heat Any Texas barbecue place you go to that has this you get it next up the pork rib It's tender. It's juicy and what's different about this. It's got a subtle sweet flavor to it, too I'm really excited about this like if you want a little difference in Texture in your barbecue. They actually give you fried pig skin. I Love this. I think that should be at every single barbecue place. Yeah, the chopped pig use my crunchy pig skin scoop some of this up That's good. It's hot. We're on the dry side, but it's got great vinegary flavor to it and trust me You know with a crunchy pig skin Fatty brisket look how easily that just falls apart No Pulls apart like an accordion So soft and some of y'all don't like this work, but that's what they call it moist Brisket here is amazing in the burnt ends to so much smoke a bit of sweetness on this as well. I Wish I could order more of this pig skin I think eating this with other cuts of tender meat just makes everything better. This is new wagyu beef bologna That's freaking delicious. I mean, I'm not a big bologna fan. I think I maybe have had two three bologna sandwiches in my life But they all taste like that. I'll eat a bologna sandwich a day. This thing is so tender and seasoned perfectly. Oh So happy to give me bread. I know exactly what I'm gonna do a layer of bologna a layer of brisket some burnt ends some chopped pig beef rib Especially the peppery parts pickled onions Some jalapenos Pickles and a little hat on that Texas-style sandwich. I think so This is like a greatest hits album the best of everything in one place Having all the stuff separately, it's already so good but eating it together just might be the best way to eat this barbecue So like I said in my first barbecue video, I want to get through every single Dallas barbecue place. I love barbecue I never get sick of barbecue I mean, I'll get sick of it for like, you know I don't want it two days in a row, but two three time in a week. Heck yeah Once I do this, I'll start making my way through the States I think I already did a few places in Austin and go back for more being close to the best barbecue in the country was Really a deciding factor for me to come here to Texas. Also got a crack cake. They call this a crack cake Tell whether I really like it or what it's good. I just can't determine how good I'm halfway done with this And then and then I realized I haven't said anything It's a delicious cake. It's moist. It's kind of like a cross between like a crumble cake and a bread pudding Really crumbly on top super moist on the bottom if you want something light I feel like if I eat this whole thing, I gotta lay off sugar for the next week I mean, it's really really good But I feel like every bite I take I can feel my mom's anger towards me even before this video has even published So this restaurant is Uncle Joe's restaurant If you guys remember my first noodle video in New York, it was the first place I ever found my favorite noodles the bian bian noodles outside of China It was a restaurant in Queens called Uncle Joe's and I didn't know this but he actually came down to Dallas And he opened Uncle Joe's and a lot of people after I moved here start messaging me telling me that he moved over here I'm very excited to try it because this is one of my favorite noodle places back in New York I wonder if he's here today. Let's go see So this is what I got the first time I ever ate at this restaurant This is a youpomei, it's one of my favorite dishes in the world and his other Specialty is this this thing right here the fish covered in super thin noodles. This Uncle Joe I didn't recognize him because usually he had a he had a mohawk He's actually got Like a mohawk. His hair's all grown out. All right, good to see you This is one of my favorite dishes stir-fried potatoes with vinegar. I have a recipe for this dish So I'll link it down below You know, I do say that a lot and I always forget to link it Just just want to remind me on the comments if I forget it, I'll link it. I promise This is one of my all-time favorite dishes. This is a kind of like pepper steak This beef dish is pretty good beef is really tender Super saucy, so it goes great with rice. This is home dish right now That's just stuff I crave all the time and it's not something I get to eat a lot This is an eggplant dish and call it dragon eggplant. I can't remember if I had this in New York or not I remember seeing this on the menu. So it's basically a fried eggplant covered in sauce With a burst of sesame flavor Yeah, like I was saying like really good homey Chinese food, it's actually not easy to find That's why this place in New York was always my go-to place for Chinese food. But now I get to have it here This is biang biang noodles covered in chili scallions and garlic on top and this is all flash-fried and oil I got a great recipe for this too. I promise I'll link it down below use my recipe. You won't be disappointed It's restaurant quality stuff my first time coming into this restaurant in Queens And I remember seeing this on a menu was so excited because that was the first time I ever seen this dish on a menu In New York So this was way before the days of Xi'an famous foods and all this place kind of made this really common dish So this was like the only place I could find it and they made it so well So I would always go back to this place and get this dish And I think at the time this was only about five six dollars a bowl And I remember one time I went with Dan and a bunch of friends of mine And I ate like four bowls of these noodles So then I was like, there's no way you can eat one more bowl of noodles But if you can I'll pay for it. I wasn't gonna pass on a free bowl of noodles So I did another bowl of noodles. They challenged me to a fifth bowl of noodles. I think I did that too Anyway, that's how much I love these noodles Just like I remember the texture flavor aroma everything like I remembered it. This is a great bowl noodle This place does it oh so well, you see how elastic II this is This is a noodle I feel comfortable bungee jumping with no not actually but you know One of my first videos ever was at this place. Yeah back in New York So a lot of memories so I wanted to get the fish with the thin fried noodles on top That was like the Uncle Joe's special back in New York. They ran out of noodles today So he recommended I tried this fish, which I don't think I had this in New York He's told me this is a very traditional Hunan fish recipe and it goes great with rice Watch out for the bones in this fish, but oh my god, this is good Mmm aromatic slightly sweet slightly spicy. We got a lot of bones. So if you're not used to that be careful That is a creamy ice cream I got a biscotti and pandan swirl, this is really really good perfect last thing to eat before The workout regimen kicks in highly recommend this place There's really delicious ice cream last couple of food days full of meat noodles and in this Still trying to figure my way around Dallas around, Texas But the more I discover at least food wise more I like and as always all the places I went to listed down below for You and the recipe stuff is gonna be down below if not Just leave me a comment because I want you guys have those recipes if you can't come to a restaurant like uncle Joe's at least You can make it at home.
