Two teams yet to reach their high preseason expectations meet tonight in the city of brotherly love as the 12 and 12 76ers welcome the 10 and 14 Los Angeles Lakers to the Wells Fargo Center right now in the east but just four games out of four as MB takes the game's first shot and knocks down the mid-range jumper Antonio a career high 16 points per game for walkers he pulls up takes the shot and hits he everyone knew about the athleticism and the ability phd in sales it just comes in what we just saw is uh davis gets the put back off the james miss in a long time and he's only missed two games this year because of injury is hard and get to the rim and score to see him healthy and i think the next stage is can he play at an elite level when he's not a hundred percent as you see Lonnie Walker knocked down a little wing three acres where Russell Westbrook on the floor shake mill not there for Philly three goes for Reeves and he'd been struggling of late shooting the threes and assists and his fourth in scoring off the bench mb from deep a three and he's three for three from the floor Milton after a couple of deflections and beads got the smaller defender on him so he goes right down the lane and scores again he's got 13 struggling 0 for 5 now from the floor Harrison transition fires to Embiid who gets the layup and beat six of seven step here comes the double shot clock down to two Hawk Harris from the corner good again a three where's the scoring going to come from for LA with James struggling and Anthony Davis on the bench LeBron finally connects he had missed his first six shots and Thomas Bryant has it James catch and shoot got it a three for LeBron scoring lead and his current scoring average of 26 oh my goodness forget I don't know what that means but it was funny shot clock at five nine seconds to go in the quarter how about Thomas Bryant from deep final seconds here the first quarter mb lets it fly of course with the rebound he's got three boards two points Westbrook in transition one on four and he scores Westbrook spinning away from Harden Reeves with a step back three on the money and the Lakers are within five three minutes gone by shooting the ball this year 27 percent from the floor Westbrook from deep swishing home a three Lakers within two going keep playing by points to just four for Philadelphia here's Embiid for three Embiid still on fire to that also it helps keep Anthony Davis off of Joel Embiid again great execution top driving with three to shoot stops pops misses Embiid snatches it goes back up and puts it in 10 for 11 25 first half points by Reeves they're just throwing a hand up and getting the deflection then Reeves in the open floor 13 points this second quarter and it's allowed them to keep Anthony Davis on the floor basket for Davis boys sure look like he got pushed that time by Embiid but they didn't call it Harden hesitation three it doesn't matter James Harden knocks it down his first three-pointer here's Melton spotting up that's good Anthony Melton's coming back though catch and shoot Harris on the money same spot as Melton on the last possession driving at Embiid's trying to see if he can get Embiid to pick up that third foul Beverly right in front of the Philly bench Melton again boy after a rough start to this game for both teams offensively is by one Walker from deep 13 straight made shots by the Lakers is on way down this year they'll drive here and Reeves soars to the bucket and flushes it Walker good look finally a miss but there's Westbrook with a second chance opportunity hitting on in stride for the jam what a first half of Russell Westbrook doing a little bit of everything and on the other end gets rid of Schroeder and hits point chance for the fourth the play was there the mindset was there the idea was there is anyone gonna guard is it Davis plays like that nothing's off the table the Lakers can be as good as anybody as P.J. Tucker hits you remember the bubble Philly has hit 11 threes James with the stuff and one home just seven and five five and seven on the road Lonnie Walker from deep third three of the night for Walker 44th on the season Melton with the answer boy the Anthony Melton point games in NBA history trailing only Michael Jordan Melton again got it to spin around and drop Reeves left alone for a moment the blow by from Melton and Reeves makes him pay drilling another one seven for a with the clear ahead to Walker soars to the rim and stuffs it Westbrook on track for triple double seven rebounds seven assists eight points Melton again four for four from three-point land in the third quarter here's James who had Harden on him great recognition by Westbrook and they make it look easy Thibault ahead to Melton challenges and Melton gets the layup boy the Anthony Melton a spectacular quarter well for them he's out again tonight but Thibault off the bench filling in for George Niang in that role Davis not even looking to score just gave it up now gets it back and takes it to the not very good offense by the Lakers currently right now some one pass shot then James Harden knocking down the three crowd wanted to carry Davis oh that was sweet high off the window once he's playing against Joel Embiid he can do it also Harris nice move with the left hand well the potential trade piece that has been the lane the lob for Davis was a little bit off the mark but it didn't matter Davis with they are much improved defensively number four in the NBA Philly Melton reverse layup with the left hand of our NBA Friday doubleheader coming up here's Melton for three it goes again 27 for Melton Westbrook down the lane Embiid with the defensive play trailing he's mad at his teammates for not pull up jumper from Davis is good it's a 10 point game 250 to go terrible pain stays on the floor Embiid gets past Reeves and flushes it Westbrook attacks and gets the layup last chance stretch here for LA Westbrook with the slam James with the dish eight point game LeBron in transition it's three on three James goes right at the rim puts it in and one it's a six point game and LeBron will go to the line to try it out Melton for three he's had a handful of deflections as well Beverly gets inside and gets the basket Lakers ball down five with 15 seconds left Reeves gets a good look it goes a three and the Lakers are down here as Reeves gets a look and it's no good but he's fouled by fight Reeves missed it and trying to save it lob pass and be broken up Davis he has it gets it to Westbrook back to Davis at the line with a chance no good rebound Harden two seconds gets rid of it no we're going to overtime here's Harden back to Embiid rising and hitting 38 points and Philly leads by two headed for a second and then Tucker clears an empty possession there for the Lakers that was a mess Harden gets the basket and a foul a three-point chance for James Harden by design you got to give some credit to the Philly defense just like you got to credit the defense there by Patrick Beverly Melton got rid of it in time got it plays there where you just got to lock in there's still plenty of time left shot clock at four Harden penetrating stops pops good James Harden coming up big here down the stretch in overtime Tucker his fourth next one would put the Lakers at the line James finds Beverly underneath and finally the Lakers score in overtime but it took four minutes and 25 seconds longer than Philly fans would have hoped but they still leave in celebration 133-122 they outscored the Lakers 13-2 in overtime Embiid finishes with 38 Melton 33 Harden 28 Davis 31 for the Lakers 25 for Reeves 23 for LeBron James
