Devils fans look really stupid right now

Two games into the NHL season and New Jersey Devils fans were chanting Fire Lindy. Now 13 games later the Devils are 12-3-0 and with tonight's win against the Coyotes they've now won nine straight games in a row. During tonight's game Devils reporter Ryan Nowozinski tweeted out what I think is probably the closest thing you can get to a Maya Culpa from a crowd. The fans were chanting Sorry Lindy. And I'm going to link to Ryan's original tweet down in the description. Anyway with nine wins the Devils are approaching their franchise record for straight wins which is 13 games as set in the 2001 season. I definitely underestimated the Devils going into this season. I didn't think they'd made enough changes since last year but as management had been preaching all they really needed was saves. The rest of the advanced stats indicated that they were a good team. Right now the Devils are top six in both goals against and goals for per game and looking at advanced stats they're also dominating in terms of expected scoring as well as play control indicators like Corsi and Fenwick. Watching tonight's game now keep in mind it was against the Coyotes although they are themselves on a four game win streak. I noticed a couple of things. One the exceptional overall team speed and skill. I think that was well exemplified by their first goal of the game where he sure breaks into the zone just controls play exploits a missed assignment by the Arizona player which sets up the beautiful passing play goal. The other thing I really noticed was Jack Hughes. This guy was all over the ice. He's so fast he's just everywhere right after Arizona scored their first goal he responded 23 seconds later with a beautiful snipe. I noticed on the power play he was a threat every single time. So yeah definitely check out Devils games if you haven't been as a Rangers fan I'm happy to acknowledge that the Devils could be great this year but I'll be very interested to see where they are say 20 games from now. But have you been watching a ton of the Devils let me know what you think. Also one final note on the Lindy chants Lindy Ruff is one of my favorite coaches. I think it was super goofy to be booing him two games into the season especially when the Devils did seem to be playing pretty well in those losses but yeah let me know what you think.
