Every woman regardless of age, body shape or overall style should own the following pieces. Dressed up or down they always look classic and en vogue and by knowing which items you should spend your money on you can start to build a timeless wardrobe that can save you money and make you feel amazing. First and foremost a good blow-dry manicure and pedicure are priceless as they will give you the confidence to carry off any outfit. This is the foundation for everything and should definitely not be overlooked. When it comes to the perfect wardrobe we really have to strategize about the things we buy. It is not only important to focus on quality rather than quantity but also to pay attention to the versatility of an item. Moreover you should not follow any trends lavishly if they don't suit you. It is better and even smarter to look out for key pieces that suit your wardrobe and make you look and feel your best and this is why an elegant clothing style will always look put together and appropriate. I have put together six classic pieces for you that will definitely level you up on your elegance path. Look at this as a list for getting inspiration rather than a shopping list. Just be cautious and build up your wardrobe step by step. Starting off with handbags they are nowadays the must-have accessory among women. It is no longer only a functional item rather a necessary fashion and status piece and since bags can cost more than a monthly salary it is worth to think through your purchases and make the best choices based on your circumstances. So speaking about the best choices I would always go for a style or a bag that has been around for decades. You can be very sure that it will still be in style in a couple of years. For example if you have a look at pictures from princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and other fashion icons from the 20th century you can always see that all the bags they were wearing were very simple and structured and even nowadays those bags are not out of fashion because those are timeless pieces. Plenty of fashion houses launch new editions of their earlier bags which shows that they stand the test of time and this does not mean that you need any kind of designer bag. There are also a lot of mid-range brands that offer elegant and timeless handbags just make sure that they have a good quality. For example the leather should be very robust as it will improve the longevity of the bag and will give you much more joy over the years and moreover I would choose a bag without any monogram or massive logo as it will not look much more sophisticated. The most important colors are of course black and beige as they will go with everything and regarding the size it always depends on your lifestyle. For example if you need to carry a lot of things around with you then you should make sure that you consider this factor before purchasing a bag. For me personally I would choose a black bag that I can carry during the day but also in the evening and this means that I would rather pick a smaller than a larger bag. At latest after Holly Golightly wore her little black dress and breakfast at Tiffany's the garment was popularized. It already shaped the 20s but after the first world war the little black dress was a symbol of grief, hope for the future and an epitome of the modern woman. Ever since it has been reinterpreted by designers and is a symbol of elegance and a sense of style. The dress is a real staple for every wardrobe and since there is no concrete definition there are all sorts of styles and forms. Since black is a very plain color I would rather put a lot of value on the material. It should be an expensive looking material like satin or thicker natural fabric. Most often the little black dress is a sleeveless shift dress which goes approximately down to the knees but depending on your style there are other shapes and types that look very elegant. For me the perfect little black dress is something with a feminine looking neckline which you can see here. Pumps are a necessity for every lady. They not only make you feel very feminine but also change your entire appearance starting from improving your posture to elongating your legs. They are used for evening gatherings, special events and sometimes even for work. The most important colors are of course black and beige since those are the most versatile colors. Still since we are talking about essential pieces I would primarily go for a pair of black pumps. More specifically a patent one with a pointy toe. They are the most formal shoes you can have meaning that they will dress up every outfit. Moreover patent leather is less delicate and will last you a long time if you take good care of them. Later on I would add a beige pump to my collection. When it comes to heel height I would choose something that you feel confident and comfortable with. The ones that I'm wearing are 10 centimeters in heel height but this is also the maximum that I would wear. If you plan to wear your heels to work a lower heel would be more appropriate. Furthermore many people like the red sole of le butas but you really need to consider where you would like to wear your pumps to. The red sole looks nice and is an eye catcher definitely but it might not be appropriate to wear to work even when you have a lower heel. And even though the black patent pointed toe shoes are the most formal ones there is also a variety of elegant pumps that you may consider regarding your lifestyle. We have of course beige ones but also rounded toes and various heel heights. Especially for transitional weather, cold summer evenings or even for work a blazer is a classic unisex piece that everyone needs to have in their wardrobe. It can actually be worn all year round and is in my opinion one of the most versatile items. It can be dressed up or down because it looks chic with a pair of trousers and a shirt but it also looks chic with an elegant dress. I would suggest you to go for either a black, navy or a light colored one. Basically a color that works with all your other garments. Apart from the color the most important part is to consider its shape, fit and proportions as it needs to complement your body shape. For example depending on your breast size you can go for a single or a double breasted style. During colder days your outerwear is the most important thing in your wardrobe. It occupies a large part of your body and is the first thing that people will notice about you. The quality of your coat is directly visible and therefore it is important to value certain characteristics. Depending on the style you pick it should be made out of a good material like cashmere or at least a blend of those natural fabrics. Most elegant and expensive looking coats have two things in common. They are very structured and look kind of simple. When a woman wears it, it fits perfectly and blends in with her body curve. If I need to choose one coat I would choose a longer coat as you get a lot more wear out of it. Even if you wear a dress it is still perfect for an evening night out. Color-wise the most versatile colors are of course black, camel, beige and off-white. My must-have coat might be a trench coat as it is on vogue since the 19th century. It is functional, flattering, a classic and definitely good looking on every body type because of the waist defining belt. You can combine it with trousers, skirts and they are perfect for rainy days in spring and fall. The one accessory that immediately enhances your entire appearance and make you look more elegant is a silk scarf. In general I enjoy wearing a very simple outfit and just add a colorful silk scarf which upgrades your look right away. Especially when you have a fairly neutral color palette for your wardrobe, a scarf can add a nice pop of color. Again it does not have to cost a fortune. I mean of course if you compare a designer scarf for example Hermes to H&M you will definitely see and feel a difference but you can still look very chic and even for my H&M scarf I received tons of compliments. Just make sure that the quality is nice and you choose a color that really suits you. Then it will give you a lot of joy. You can even play around styling it. There are plenty of opportunities to wear a scarf for example as a headband around your neck. Even for your neck there are plenty of varieties on your bag and so many more. These are the six pieces which will definitely level you up on your elegance journey. If you focus on high quality versatile pieces and if you have the right approach to build up your wardrobe strategically you will always look classic and all vogue.
