New York USA \\ LAKE PLACID ... Not THAT one 🐊 🤣 // VLOG #162

We're at Best Western Anorandock Inn and we have had the best luck with Best Western. The stays have been wonderful. And this newly renovated, oh they're so These squirrels are so cute. They're jumping from tree to tree and they're beautiful. One's pure black and one's gray. I don't see any squirrels. I just have to accept mid-shot when Katie sees animals. Shot's over. That's true. It's very important. You gotta seize the moment. Carpe manana like I always say. This newly renovated lodge is gorgeous. It's a ski jump training right into the water. Want to go do it? This is Mirror Lake right next to the larger Lake Placid. So why did we come to Lake Placid? We like mountains. And we love lakes. And my favorite monster movie is Lake Placid. Unfortunately it was not filmed here but the name Lake Placid. Well that easy. The movie was about a lake in Maine and it was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia but Katie likes Lake Placid. Here we are by God. After seeing this place for just a little bit this is not a decision we will regret. No. It's got walking trails all around the lake. It's beautiful. Oh see right here. This is the reason. My favorite. Crazy lilac stalker girl found lilacs again. They're almost gone. Today we're hiking around Mirror Lake which is much smaller than Lake Placid but this awesome path theoretically goes all the way around. And it's about what two and a half miles? Right around there according to Google. We shall see. I want a house here. Right on the lake. Definitely. I've seen what happens when you go to the marina. How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Holy cow! There's my house. She means that little bitty one right there. It's so cute and perfect size. Just jump off the balcony. You're in the water. Good luck. That water's cold. I ain't getting in that water. I put my feet in. You know how tough she is. I put my feet in the water in Maine. She didn't do nothing. Hey if I had that house I would be in the water. Start a GoFundMe. People buy you the house. You can go up in the water. They smell like baking. Vanilla. Did you say bacon or baking? Baking. I've never smelled that smell before on a flower. Oh wow they really do. Put these in your house. You never have to bake again. I could have sworn she said bacon. Bacon flowers. Just my style. That bakery actually had gluten-free options. Two macaroons for Chris and of course for me all the gluten. I had to get a cinnamon roll. I mean she was going to be closed for the next two days. We had to get it now. You got to suck up when you got it. You got to take these opportunities when they arise. Absolutely. There's an eagle's nest way up there We had to travel all the way to Plattsburgh because it was the only place that I could fill my prescription but it was a beautiful drive. Saw these trails on the map to the peninsula right next to Lake Placid so we're going to try them. It's very important to know you're going and also always sign the trail register because you never know what's going to happen. If I'm gonna love somebody I just want to love you. If I'm gonna love somebody I just want to love you. So to find this trail go to Quality Inn. Right behind it there's a dirt road and follow that a little farther than you think you should go and voila there it is. Old land nav tip just when you think you've gone too far you haven't gone far enough until you go too far. Oh and another thing don't forget your bug juice. You'll need it and of course you forgot it. Also don't film when the ground looks like that or your wife is terrible because she'll laugh at you. Well my wife will. I don't know about yours. Put the phone away. No dropping it on rocks. Good call. Thankfully that wasn't deep. Looks like a perfect spot for bananas. And granola bars. And squished granola bars. Hard to beat that for a lunchtime view. And never forget to sign out on the trail log. You are so responsible. I am but I really would like some hand cream.
