Sneakers with a Suit - Ask He Spoke Style, Ep. 6

Hi guys, I'm Brian Sakawa and thanks for tuning in to another episode of Ask He Spoke Style. I have a great question this week and I can't wait to share it with you. It comes from Ray who writes, This is a taboo subject for some, but I have always enjoyed the idea of wearing sneakers with a suit. The thing is, I have some trouble pulling it off. I can't decide what kind of suit and accessories are needed so that I don't look immature. What is your advice? Ah, that is such a good question and this is like one of those things in menswear that people love to fight about. I don't know if it's necessarily a taboo subject, but it is one that's very divisive. There are a lot of opinions about it and today I'm going to give you my opinion. I really think there's sort of like an age bracket where it's okay, where you can kind of get away with anything or do whatever you want and that would be from like age 18 to age 25. If you're thinking about wearing sneakers with a suit after that, if you're like an older guy in your 30s maybe, I would say don't do it. If you're going to have a midlife crisis like buy a car or something, but there's nothing worse than like an older guy trying to look cool or hip by doing something kind of trendy like wearing sneakers with a suit. So my advice is to just kind of stay away from it, especially if you're a little bit worried about it to begin with. If you think it's going to look immature and you're not comfortable with it, just completely stay away from it. So that's my advice. Take it or leave it. Really hot topic.
