Hey y'all, it's Tammy with Collard Valley Cooks. Today, I'm going to show you what temperature
to use when you make bacon in the air fryer so that it's beautiful and golden in color
and not burnt to a crisp. Let's get started. All right, today we are making bacon in the
air fryer. I've already fried up some. I'll show you what it looks like. I'm just going
to lay it in the bottom of the air fryer and it's going to shrivel up so it don't matter
if it comes up the side a little. Just like that. And if you cook it on a high temperature,
it's going to be darker and drier. So I'm going to cook this at 400 degrees for six
minutes, and then I'm going to turn the temperature down. Okay. All right, this is my air fryer
and I'm going to use the setting for steak at 400 for six minutes. I do that first and
then I flip it. And let me show you why I changed the temperature. Now, both of these
are done, but one is a lot more golden in color than the other. You can tell the one
that I cooked on 400 the entire time it's dry and it's hard to get it right without
making it dry and almost burnt. But if you cook it for six minutes and then turn it down
to 350, it's beautiful and golden in color and it's nice and crunchy and going to be
really delicious. 350 degrees for four minutes. Start. We'll see if it's done. All right,
this is going to go off in a minute. I'm going to show you my meat hook. It's really, really
sharp. And when you take an air fryer, the basket out, it's hot on the bottom. So never
sit it directly on the countertop. This is a defrosting tray that I use for mine. And
I thought we would look and see if we think this is done. I personally, I'm going to cook
it just a minute longer. So I'm going to flip it and cook it just one minute longer or two
minutes maybe. Good thing about 350 is it shouldn't burn it and char it like that other
temperature did. So I'm going to cook it two more minutes. So get you a defrost tray or
something to sit right in front of your air fryer that you can move around easy to put your
air fryer basket on to keep from burning your countertops. They're really nice to have. And
I wanted you to see my food flipper. It's a jacquard food flipper. A lot of people have
bought these and they're really happy with them. This is one of the most handy tools you would
ever buy for your kitchen. You can buy it by set. You get a longer one. You can use that on the
grill and make sure you get one that says jacquard. Enter through our website and through
the link that I show in the description post. And then if you choose to buy something that's
cheaper, just know you'll probably have to return it because even if it shows you a nice sharp tip
in the picture, when you get it, it's going to be big and fat. You got to pay for a quality
sharp tip. I promise. So I'm just showing you this as well because it's so handy. You're about
to see how handy it is. Then we're going to pour up our bacon grease. So we're going to bring our
tray over here. I'm going to show you how pretty it looks on the tray. Now that's burnt bacon at
400 degrees. If you cook it on 400 the whole time and this is 400 for six minutes and then
turning it down to 350, it makes it really pretty and golden color. See that? It makes a difference.
Isn't that a pretty piece of bacon? I think so. Now let me show you what we're going to do. When
you use the air fryer, you're going to have all the grease down in the bottom. That's why I like
to get an air fryer that has a separate basket instead of one that don't because then all the
grease is collected into the bottom and you can pour it up. You can see all that bacon grease
down in there. If you didn't have a removable basket, what I like about it is if you're doing
french fries or something like that, you could take this out, dump them, and then come back.
Let me show you. I have got a bacon container. It has a lid. It is an Ayesha Curry. I'll put
the link on the post. I love it because once you're finished cooking your sausage and bacon,
mainly bacon, I pour up the grease. I want you to look how pretty it looks. It don't have a
lot of crumbles in it. Look at there. Then you just put the lid on it. I just leave it out at
room temperature. If you want to cook with your bacon grease, you can. You'll have it collected
in your little bacon jar. It is metal so that you can pour it in there while it's hot. I hope
you've enjoyed watching how to cook bacon in the air fryer. The air fryer that I recommend is
Kasori. I've had several because I got them for free to test. This was my favorite one. When I
clean my air fryer, it is nonstick. I wash it with soapy water. I rinse it. It looks really good.
Then I just put it back in the unit and turn it on to dry it. It works great. I hope you've
enjoyed watching how do I fry bacon in the air fryer. See you next time on Collard Valley Cooks
where we cook like our Mamas did. I love y'all.
