Hello my name is John and in this video I'm going to give
you a few tips if you're planning to travel to Thailand
Thailand has been so far one of my favorite countries
It's crazy how much you have in the ones where the contrasts are the greatest
of a chaotic nature of chaotic cities I don't know you have everything in the same country then for
That's why it's one of my favorite countries so here I'm going to give you a few tips
Then if any questions arise as always you can leave your comments below
And if not I'll also leave my Instagram so you can follow me there many of you will know me
Send private messages asking me questions since you know I'm always happy to answer
One of the main questions that arise is when to visit Thailand
If you're asking me when to go I'd say when we go which is in late autumn
In October and November because that's when the rainy season ends throughout the southeast region
Asian then it's not yet very hot and the rains are not so intense
So were there for more than three weeks and saw the rain for a couple of hours
In total during those three weeks so it's a very good time in that sense
Also it's already becoming peak season especially as it approaches
December Christmas that time is already high season so for me from late October onwards
And in November there was still not
many people meaning you could be comfortably relaxed plus the temperature was quite ideal
If you are going between May and November you have to think about that it's low season so
there will be a lot fewer people but on the other hand it's true that there are a lot more
rainy season it's the rainy season which means that it's possible that almost everyone is affected
Rainy days don't mean it will be raining all day but that all the days will be rainy
It is likely to rain for a while the thing is that in Southeast Asia the rains
's really heavy meaning it's raining hard the good thing is that you wait half an hour or an hour
The hours are guarded and when it stops the sun comes out
But I also tell you that the rain in Southeast Asia at least for me does not
It's unpleasant because it's quite hot so there's a lot of humidity which occasionally causes discomfort
When it rains it's even pleasant you know you even appreciate it for us for example
We ended up kayaking in the Krabi area it rained a lot at firs
It's a bit of a game thing let's go kayaking now with all the rain
What a hassle but once you start it starts to work and it's really pleasant
The truth is because it's a bit warm the water is quite pleasant in temperature
And it's very good so yes in other words it's better if it
doesn't rain but if it does it shouldn't prevent you from doing other activities
After arriving in Thailand to organize yourselves make a plan and decide what to visit
It would divide Thailand into three main parts which are
northern Thailand the central part and the southern part
Each of these is very different from the other for example in the north they are located above
In Chiang Mai Chiang Rai Pai and some other areas but those are the main ones
These areas are very nature-oriented for example Chiang Mai is more temple-oriented but it also has
Some other place in the mountains has a very large part of jungle that can be visited
It's an ideal place for example to rent motorcycles and explore the entire northern area
Chiang Rai is also full of very colorful temples including the White Temple which is located in the city
It's the Blue Temple the Green Temple you have a bunch of temples in all colors
Y Pai is a much more hippie area very much you know people walk barefoot down the street
And that's a much more serious one but it's also to me at least I loved it
There are also some waterfalls around here quite a few of them and one of them is the one I'll show you
In the vlogs you have to cross the jungle by constantly crossing the river
More than two hours to get there and for me it was one of the best experiences of the trip
Because not many people went there and
then it was like much more exclusive
Then that northern area is really worth it for me it's a place where there's a lot of
a backpacker essence all about relaxation about camaraderie among people I don't know for me it's an atmosphere
It's really cool and for me it's one of the best things in Thailand
Then you have the central part which would be mainly Bangkok where everyone
He is going to Bangkok surely because your flight arrives here but well who goes there
Visiting Thailand and not going to Bangkok well obviously Bangkok has to be visited
but there are also more places to visit around here for example you have Ayutthaya tha
It is the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam you have Sukhothai which is also a very important city
These cities for example Ayutthaya and Sukhothai are places to visit
Visit ancient temples especially ruined ones that are already centuries old
Many of them are almost completely destroyed but they still maintain much of their essence
what were the original temples because in Bangkok Chiang Mai the temples you will
They are mostly very modern well renovated with new paint so
reluctant damn how modern but Sukhothai and Ayutthaya are especially places to vis
It still maintains the essence of the temples how they were in their original form and then there are others
areas that for example went to that went more towards the west of the country tha
It was the Kanchanaburi area Kanchanaburi had not many people but I felt like it
Very much because that's where the Death Railway is it was very good but well it's a railway
What a good thing if you know a little you know that the Japanese invaded all of this
The zone forced Thais prisoners of war to build a railway that would connec
with old Burma and then that railroad is still maintained in what is the trac
The train and there is a very famous bridge which is the bridge over the River Kwai which will sound
of the movie which was not filmed here but is based on this bridge was originally filmed
In Sri Lanka with an artificial bridge but it's a good one I really wanted to visit this place
zone and then all the way east at the end of the railway roughly around there
zone there is a national park which is Erawan National Park known for its waterfalls
They are beautiful and you can also stay in a hotel you can stay in a hotel
Inside the national park when you wake up the views are breathtaking
It's that natural park with all the greenery with the river it's incredible and then the waterfalls
They are like in levels well if you've seen the vlogs there you have everything but it's worth
It's really a shame yes it's true that the waterfall area was super touristy bu
If you stay there you can go in first thing and it will be all yours
Recommendation if you are going to this area of the waterfalls is to go early in the morning and
You're going to the highest one of all because this is about levels as I've already told you
and the highest of all is the best the problem is that people go by levels and they go up step by step
It's becoming a place to take photos and bathe so I recommend going all the way up
And that's how you have it to enjoy for yourselves and when people start arriving
You can start going down now that's it but at least you have the ones on top which are the ones
More fun for you and good Bangkok well Bangkok is a chaotic city
But it's out of this chaos that it is which is really cool I love it for example we missed a flight
We were going from Bangkok to Phuket because of this chaos because of the traffic that was there besides
It's our fault because we didn't consider well the time we would need to go
From our hotel to the airport but it's true that the chaos created in the traffic
It's brutal but it's a city well worth visiting with streets like Khao San
Road which is my favorite backpacker area the atmosphere is great and with the res
From all the travelers in the world you have the Chinatown area you can go watch Muay fights
You can also go see them in Chiang Mai but in Bangkok there's like a stadium
where official tournaments are held you even have huge shopping centers to be able to
Move away a bit from the sun because you said damn it I'm going to the shopping malls no
Llamas a a lot but when you get there with the heat and maybe it starts to rain
You will find moments when you will be glad to enter shopping centers to res
A bit of what is the entire outside weather and then you also have as I said
A lot of temples you have the royal palace you have giant Buddhas so it's well worth it
The penalty and especially the cuisine the cuisine that is well worth eating in Thailand in general
But for example rice don't miss eating rice in Thailand because they do it really well
e rice stick mango I always say it wrong but okay the rice stick mango however you say it
It's the rice I eat with conut milk and mango it's really good but overall everything is good
What you can try in Thailand I recommend it because it's delicious and super super
cheap you don't need to go to the most luxurious restaurant in Bangkok but just to one tha
You can eat on the street anywhere the food is amazing so I highly recommend it
Then there is the southern area which is mainly called the island zone
There are two main areas the one that is the westernmost the Western Islands and the
From the east and depending on how much time you have it will give you enough time to visit both areas or focus one
In our case we focused one which was the western one we started
I recommend Phuket if you tell me Phuket is not what I liked the most about the trip
The truth is I'm not saying it's ugly but I think I mean if I went back I would make other things a priority
places in Phuket I found it quite unimpressive too touristy so it loses points for me
A lot of what makes up the essence of Thailand but if you're going to Phuket you can be in the area
This is a tourist area both are tourist areas in the western area you have Patong Beach which has a lot of
It's crazy at least in that aspect so if you want something like that if you want a party
Go to the west area of Phuket you will love it Patong Beach and then head on from there
A bit further east in that area you'll find the Phi Islands which are beautiful paradise-like islands
They are all 100% touristy meaning everything you will see is either tourists or local people
They are people who are dedicated tourism so you have to know what it is
but the truth is that the islands there the Phi are beautiful the views you can go up to
A peak to see everything and it's incredible you have Kopi Pili which is an island a bit to the south of
Phi you can rent a small boat to take you around and there's Maya Bay
This is where Leonardo DiCaprio's beach was filmed keep in mind that Maya Bay is located here
playa starting this year they close during the summer months roughly I'm not sure if it's between May and
and October I don't know around those months look at it because they close it to keep it up because it's so busy
The amount of tourism that needs to be left for a few months each year in order to recover and but it is
and then the rest of the island Kopi Pili you also have areas where there are shipwrecks sunken ships
You can go snorkeling it's really cool there's a beach full of monkeys so it's definitely worth it
It's worth spending two days on Phi Islands and what I do recommend is that if you want to
Go to Ko Phi to visit Maya Bay and that area go as soon as possible meaning wake up a
five and a half you row a little boat at six you see everything and that way you are much more relaxed withou
So many people because then it gets out of hand it seems to come in high season and you don't enjoy it
So to visit this area I recommend you hire a fisherman in the Phi area
In the western area you will see a lot of fishermen with their little boats in the afternoon
If you're looking for someone and you say "Hey can you take us tomorrow let's make a tour of all this"
ree four hours we'll pay you some amount you agree on a price and you get your money back and you go
To your air controlling your times and calmly because then there are like ships
Tourists who already have 20 30 40 people you all go at once and I don't know for me I don't know
I prefer to go alone if you prefer that then you have the option but about prices it will come out
Very similar and then went to the Krabi area where you have Rayleigh Beach which is
A beautiful beach that looks like those Avatar-like cliffs which is great for spending time
One day although it is also very touristy and it's very complicated to stay there because there are very few options
A few hotels and they are very expensive so you will probably have to stay in Krabi or Aonang
It is to the north but that area is also worth visiting for a couple of days and then in the
The eastern part of Thailand the southern island area includes the islands of Koh Phangan Koh Tao and Koh Samui
ey are also paradise-like they have beautiful views perfect for making
snorkeling perfect for diving and for example Koh Tao is known as the place where it is cheapes
Take the diving course then if you want to do scuba diving and want to take the course
In three or four days you can take it out anywhere from the thousand places we have here
where they issue the certificate and it is supposed to be 30 to 40 percent cheaper tha
any other place to get your certificate you also have a lot of celebration for example
In Koh Phangan they have what is called a full moon party so once a month when it's a full moon
A full moon party is held every 28 days which is a wild party that takes place
In that island we couldn't go because the dates didn't fit but if you can go and you love
The party you'll have plenty here you'll have something super cheap super expensive hotels but well it's a
e gap that I think could be very fun and then there's also for example Koh Samui which is
It is a much more familiar island this is the typical place where honeymoon couples and families go
To be in such a place in more resort-type places very quiet so well take a look it can also
whether you're looking for more backpacker-friendly options or if your style of travel is more family-oriented this is one
It is a very suitable place for that so this would be a bit what to visit then for
Stay in Thailand which has a wide range of hotels hostels and anything else you can imagine
Stay for free with Couchsurfing you can also use Airbnb which offers apartments and villas
uge places to stay you have hotels from guest houses cheaper hostels which you ca
Stay for up to 3 euros a night even at incredible hotels that aren't too expensive
So we stay in quite good hotels always in private rooms with a bathroom
and even in Bangkok at a hotel that was very good costing no more than 20-25 euros a night that is to say
It is very cheap to stay so if you are going with a medium budget you can stay in very good hotels
Good and not having to spend so much money if you want to go all out backpacking well I've said it
You can use Couchsurfing to try to stay for free in other people's homes or
No go to hostels where you can stay for 3 euros a night and that's it and they won't be there
Well the sites will be quite good When asked is it necessary to book all of this w
Early If you have your plan clear I would say book everything if you want to go further
mprovised obviously not and it won't be a problem because for example what is the
otel offer there will be no problem so you can just show up in Bangkok and boom you say
Where do I stay Open the app you use Booking or ask at hotels or whatever
I will have thousands of hotels with many rooms at a good price so that's why
Don't worry Thailand allows plenty of room for improvisation you won't have any problem with that
Wherever you are unless you're going to a super remote place but in tourist areas
As I've been mentioning you won't have any trouble finding accommodation on the night itself
Except for Pipi if you want a private room in Pipi I definitely recommend it
We booked in advance we got it with a couple of weeks and managed to find a spot bu
It is true that when went there were many people asking from hotel to hotel to see if
They had available rooms because they fill up very quickly meaning there is a good supply of rooms
But the demand is huge so there I would be a little more careful bu
Surely it would be the only place where I would tell you this Just as I say this about hotels
I also tell you this about transportation for example airplanes it is quite cheap to move internally
In Thailand there are many low-cost flights especially the main company is Air Asia
which allows a maximum of 7 kilograms for your luggage when traveling without having to add an extra bag
Supplement if you pass this you will have to already charge a bag and pay a significant extra
Dear quite expensive compared to the ticket price that is a normal ticket price can cost you
50-60 euros to move around for example from Bangkok to Phuket such as from the center to the south
30 euros to travel from Bangkok to Chiang Mai in the north but if you want to add a suitcase same price
It costs 40-50 euros which is double or more than the price of the plane ticket itself but the
Good thing is that there's so much supply for example it happened to us that we lost the opportunity
Flight from Bangkok to Phuket we didn't arrive by a few minutes and said okay when is the next one
There was a flight and about 5 or 6 companies were flying in the next two hours so there are a lot of options
Then don't worry either if you want to go by impulse it's fine
Nothing because it's not like there's only one flight a week no there are many options so
That's why you don't need to worry and it's quite affordable for example for taking buses and trains
Vans things like that I leave you this page which I put below and I leave it to you here
comments so you have a direct link which is the one we always use
ake buses trains and such then what does this page have it unifies for example I wa
Go from Chiang Mai to Pai at that time then all possible transportation departs because it says look there is
Three buses this one is first class this one is second you also have a van you have that
Hey hey and they set the prices and the hours and says okay this one is good for me you pick one
You set the price pay and keep in mind that it affected us not on this page and not
You know if there is any but at least as of the day we traveled last year you did not
Buy the ticket directly from the website that is you don't when you read there to buy it isn't
you already have the ticket no that's a bit more basic you buy it and that's
You are issuing a purchase order so there are workers who take that order and proceed with the work
ey go by bus to the bus station the train station and buy the ticket
cket and then they will leave it somewhere where you can pick it up they will put it on the website for example
Chiang Mai go to the hotel whenever you want if you are taking the train and they will leave it at the hotel tha
It is right in front of the train station so you go there go to the hotel and they tell you hey the ticke
Go take it and go to the train station then what does this have to do with it that it is not
Real-time availability is not real-time either so it happened to us that we
We chose a bus ticket from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai we bought it and everything was perfect we
They sent an email with the confirmation and so on and when were in Chiang Rai they called us
They sent an email saying there were no more spots left that it had passed that we took them at night
Well if the purchase order was issued properly because it showed a availability of
seats but the next day when they went to buy them there were none left because someone would have
I went to buy it or whatever then they sent us an email they refunded our money and we
They said they were sorry but couldn't do anything so we had to take an Uber from Chiang Rai
Up to Chiang Mai that's why I'm telling you that if you have a clear plan it's better to go
Also buses and trains in advance it depends on which places run out first for example
In Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai it seems very popular or there are few buses but we didn't have any
The way to get a ticket by purchasing it a day in advance so at least two days of
Early or later One of the most traditional ways to travel through Thailand is by train
Then a very popular option is to take a night train from Bangkok south or to go from Chiang Mai to
We took a night train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai that's what we did
Taking the night train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok the experience is good but for me the air is
The air conditioner was on full so I recommend that if you do this you bring a jacket I'm not saying a heavy one
A jacket but wear a sweatshirt a blanket or something you can cover yourself with because the
The air conditioning was very strong and I caught a cold that lasted almost two weeks so
Be careful with the air conditioning in closed spaces because they set it to maximum and you end up like that
Like me without sleeves and sweating like that you go around all flustered you end up in these places and
You catch a cold because of the temperature difference and the air conditioning which leaves you completely exhausted so
othing all of this is based on transportation then taxis are indeed much more expensive so I recommend
Uber for example is very popular and there is another very popular app in Southeast Asia called Grab
G-R-A-B I recommend you check it out and download it because everyone uses it there
It should be even better than Uber we never ended up using it but if you have the opportunity
Surely it will go very well for you because the tuk-tuk is a very good traditional means of transport there
o go into the city or whatever but it has many disadvantages among which you have to be
They charge you a lot more when you haggle many times they are not as comfortable as driving in a car
For example everything is getting ruined in Bangkok where there is a lot of car pollution it's ruining everything
all the smoke then we took it many times also because of the experience and by
Convenience but yes when we could for example in Chiang Rai we used it a lot
The tuk-tuk but in Bangkok where there was Uber we always took Uber because it was much more comfortable
It's quieter and you have fewer problems so good keep that in mind when moving
There in the cities A place I highly recommend if you go is Khao Sok National Park
Thailand is very touristy and wherever you go there will probably be a lot of people although there are some places that are less crowded
There areas where you'll be much more relaxed so don't worry about saying that Thailand is
The most tourist-friendly countries in the world will be full of people there will be people but it can be managed
Enjoy it very well that is it's not overwhelming at least not for me and I don't like it
The crowds but I recommend it if you want tranquility and it's the best place for me
Thailand is Khao Sok National Park and to Khao Sok National Park I would dedicate two
Three days it's a huge park with all jungle it's really wild it's very beautiful not many people go there
For me the ideal place there is a huge lake an artificial lake it's a dam it's fresh water
And there people go and take a noon tour to visit because it's very popular also
It looks like an avatar like those rocks that become thinner and narrower as they go up
Bajan y Tal is a huge great area I loved it there if you've seen it on blogs you would have been amazed and I did
The ideal experience here is to spend the night in a bungalow there are floating bungalows that are located inside
of the lake itself and you feel as if you were meaning you are alone were alone when went there
Couples in bungalows a tremendous tranquility bathing there in the water it's sweet up there the
It's very pleasant going on kayak rides going on excursions through the jungle exploring caves
For me it was the best place in all of Thailand because there were hardly any people you have everything there
You and the experience are incredible so I highly recommend it So that's it these are the
Main tips I wanted to give you for planning a trip to Thailand I hope it has been helpful to you
Usefulness I probably left out a lot of things that I didn't remember as I finished recording but anyway
Whatever it is any questions put them in the comments contact me and I'll take care of it now
No problem and that's how you have your perfect trip so nothing thank you very much for coming
Until here I hope you enjoyed it see you in the next one goodbye
