L.A. Historic Mansions to See! Things to do in Los Angeles.

Hi, Pam Patterson with the Best of California Award. And here are the answers to our mansion mystery, Los Angeles. Take a look. Number one is the Weller House built for Zachariah Weller from a George F. Barber catalog design. Thank you, Wesley Peters, for that information. It's been moved from its original position. It was in the middle of a bunch of oil derricks, and now it's a private residence. We'll show you the address. Number two is the Stimson House. Some of you recognized built for Thomas Douglas Stimson, Romanesque design. He was a lumber and banking baron. The house survived a dynamite attack. Holy cow. And it was featured in Mad Men towards the last seasons. That's where Draper's wife moved, if you recognize it. Great house. Show you the address. Number three, many of you knew, is the Doheny Estate. It is Edward Doheny's mansion. Now it's a part of Mount St. Mary's College, of course. He's the guy that found oil in Los Angeles and who the movie of There Will Be Blood was made after implicated the Teapot Dome scandal, but wasn't convicted. Just the interior secretary during the Harding administration was convicted on that. And it was in Spider-Man and Princess Diaries. So there you go. You can always use a beautiful house like that, the Doheny Mansion. Number three. And last but not least, I think my favorite, I just love this house, is the Haskins House, built in 1894 for real estate developer Charles Haskins. And it's a great place to go see. Check it out. Kind of overlooked in that area. And I want to give a shout out to Paul Wright and Michael Beek. Both got all of them and had a lot of information they added to it. Pat Pattison with The Best of California. Send us maybe some mansions you'd like to see. We're doing this all over the state. So Mansion Mystery. Watch for the next chapter. Talk to you soon.
