the family is coming as in well the family is coming i have provisioned i think well enough for seven people there will be seven of us on board most people you've ever had so i have provisioned i am making some greek yogurt got a little bread going waiting on jace to get back with the fuel and the people and then i think we're off hola welcome man you guys it's so late where have you been that is our supply of goods well part of it brought by the mules aka sister lauren future brother-in-law gabe jacob yo what's up what's up mom and barry hi and jason what happened because it's not dark they decided to close so they're not open so you can't get diesel here at the marina no way i took a hired cab to take me to the other marina which is just on the other side and they said you don't bring your boat here and you're not part of this marina you're not getting our fuel so then the cab was like well it's three o'clock it's maximum traffic we'll go into the city we'll get you fuel we go to the first place one you're only allowed to fill up one jerry can only one and i guess it's against the law so then we went to this other gas station that's a little more shady and they were closed because they were filling the the gas tanks the tanks and they closed the gas station when they filled the tanks um so we waited for an hour of course there was an hour and a half of traffic in there and then we had to pay the guy under the table no receipts a hundred dollars for five jerry cans of diesel and one jerry can of gas wow which is not which is only like twenty dollars more than normal price but like he's filling it in the back of the truck and they have cameras and everything so he's like in the back of the trunk of the car filling i'm like and i'm giving him cash like on the side and you just admitted all of that on camera way to go we're probably not ever allowed back in panama 6 a.m she's up before the sun time to go this is a sign of things to come i'm gonna scrub the bottom when we get to las perlas yuck oh lazy guests sleeping in baltimore doors closed it is a beautiful day not so much for sailing at this point but it's a beautiful day we have a whopping i think five knots of wind calm seas completely clear skies and the sun is out and it's only 7 a.m right here you see them yeah oh my gosh i can hear them over here too look at that whoa check it they are right here the dolphins are all around us we have never seen this many dolphins before this is amazing oh fish on fish on slow us down you got it jake yeah just tilt it back just a little bit not too fast that's our first fish in panama possibly don't jinx it i might have to pay a sea tax oh no he's coming towards us he's coming towards us so is that wow there's so many back there too there's so many dolphins it's a mackerel mackerel hold on let me get the stuff we got a mackerel it's a nice size mackerel that'll feed us all and singa singa sorry i didn't clean them up for you oh yay dinner how many times you filleted a fish once last year in the bahamas yeah looking good lando we're getting close there he goes boom yes right there there's one in the water double yes what a day catching fish and we had flying fish and we had dolphins and now we've got and it's just it's nutty we haven't even had time to do anything i know i mean literally anything it's like something's here and oh no there's something there and fish on it's if every day was like this cheese yeah amazing all these i don't know it's dorsal fish that's a shark well you want to meet the family yes family my name is jacob uh jason's brother and i was born in dallas texas and live in oklahoma city right now and who's hiding behind you and hiding behind me scared of the camera is alexis mason she's my girlfriend and she's very pretty i promise you're gonna tell them where you were born she was born in italy and she lived in florida for a little bit and then now we live in oklahoma city together she's afraid of the water hence the board chicken hi i'm mom mary you've probably seen me before i was here just three weeks ago anyway i'm from dallas texas originally arkansas where jason was born he doesn't remember that anyway i'm glad to be here it's great to be here with all my kids hey guys i'm lauren jason's sister i live in austin with this guy born in dallas and glad to be here and this guy my name's gabe i'm from austin texas i live with lauren it's my fiancee recently i will soon be part of the family for legitimately i guess that's the family let's swim are you kidding me holy crap this current is scary it's like yeah what are those what are those poles yeah like yeah yeah i know a little exercise pool it's like a treadmill okay island number two in las perlas three island number three which is chicken fish grouper nice dinner for the family it was a team effort oh yeah oh yeah these guys are heavy yeah so we were anchored right here snorkeled right here of course the first night was spent right there and now we're here yeah so since it's we live this lifestyle we just want to make sure we go and do the things that you guys want to do so if you want to lounge on the beach or you want to snorkel you just got to let us know right here we are sailing south from contadora island and heading to viveros the currents here are really swift they cut through pretty hard obviously because the tide is like a 20-foot shift right now we're kind of bouncing up and down hopefully nobody gets seasick because it is a slightly rough ride we're trying to get to the viveros before slack tide so we can snorkel when there's no current this is the base so this has to be the strong one so it's underneath grab it comes up through the hole yep all right he's down and then he comes back through the hole nice job man you like spinnaker weather nice nice relaxing let the downwind sailing sound the ultimate relaxation chopping away making some lunch jago you're helping spiraling zucchini yeah you're going to have a an asian salad with carrots and cucumber and zucchini and onion and peppers and cabbage and all kinds of goodies lime juice sweet chili sauce tofu oh no that's perfect let's see if we're going any faster whoa five knots that's a that's a knot and a half more than what we had this is where we started we put the spinnaker up somewhere around here we spinnaker it all the way to here had to drop it because of this turn and then we raised the genoa whoa it's a good day of sailing slash motor sailing not too shabby that is a massive bowl that is a Thai chili salad yum take a wrap off jake there you go brother sister work here i wasn't expecting that much so what's going on we are paddle beaching paddle beaching we got we got the tunes boom boom boom most important part lots of water no beer it's too dang hot nice teamwork there lauren and i was like oh i don't know if i can do it there he goes little babies that'll make you feel good that'll fix any ailments you might have it's a nikki colada right nikki colada it's 6 30 in the morning and going in three of us we gotta clean the bottom yay yay all right mary are you ready well i was gonna wait till he jumped in so i know he's ready it's not bad it's cool but not horrible i've been a lot colder water let's put it that way who needs coffee to wake up well that's kind of true oh poor boat i'd take the coffee for sure i'll work on that how was it down there boys it was fun for the first time i can't imagine my second time would be as much fun third or fourth or 20th yeah exactly definitely lots of crabs down there i got a couple try to get in my ears had to pull them out how to getting stuck in my mustache under biting my legs and my scary scary stuff the worst it's ever been panama city's uh rapid barnacle growth i am almost positive we'll have to be hauled out before we go to the galapagos oh no yeah that's uh it's quite interesting i'll have to say i don't know y'all do it so often ready for a shower and get all these bugs i think they attach to me first drone flight under sail first drone flight under sail yeah tuna tuna tuna how you feel about this beat lorne it's a little rough i'm not gonna lie how are you feeling i'm okay now but anytime looking out on the horizon and it's just up and down i get a little wobbly so you actually feel better sitting back here versus looking out sitting back here looking out through there was the worst okay yeah for sure you prefer the horizon back here yes definitely but you gave how you feel i feel great probably four beers in sure that doesn't hurt but uh as far as feeling wheezy or anything i am good very comfortable uh i'm feeling better now i'm just uh a little disoriented from cleaning the boat this morning just kind of going down and up and down and up above and below water and then turning upside down to clean the boat and everything i think it all is my first time so got me a little disoriented so just getting my i don't know equilibrium back yeah i get my equilibrium back clearing the old ears out you know no problem i wish it was more comfortable for people unfortunately nobody's spewed yet to a very spirited sail yeah yeah it's so uh head to win we got all these wind waves coming from one side the swell coming from another the current ripping through at four and a half it's just uh not the most comfortable ride it's fun it's fun yeah we were doing up to nine knots so pretty good speed no motors it's always good i had to take over the helm auto was getting a little confused getting bashed around unable to sail a little bit better oh the post stay clean stay clean yes ma'am so much to clean up all the hair god women on board it's horrible especially the long hair right mickey it is hair you notice your hair so much on the boat it's so gross how's it going in here jacob it's going just uh trying to get everything organized you know i mean it's funny when you get packed to go somewhere i'm very uh very ocd everything's got to be folded right everything's ship shape just looking but then when it comes time to leave just throw it in the bag it does not matter how it gets in there as long it gets in there you go home you wash it all and you're good and then it takes about two weeks to actually put up the clothes because you're so lazy and worn out from the trip so you're saying we properly wore you out you properly wore me out you especially nikki you especially how's it going in here guys good just wrapping up how was your stay in your cabin stinky towels so stinky it was great yeah yeah how was your cabin it was i mean very comfortable for two people don't expect to fit a big suitcase in here two backpacks is uh about as close as you're gonna get to having enough space to walk around yeah it was good and how was it um coming from typical house to sleeping in a boat with no air conditioning i think gabe suffered the most he had he has to be cool all the time especially sleeping next to me because i'm very um you're hot lauren yeah my my body temperature is always hot so we ended up sleeping head to toe a couple of the nights so but i had a great night's sleep last night so that was nice nice just in time for the trip home tear yeah alexis is feeling puny i am i've been i'm taking bonadine from day one and i ran out of my bonadine and i'm dying right now oh no but it was worth it final day everybody's leaving yeah you know our boat's just set up for voyaging uh we've got all the all the cabinets all the closets everything's full of parts tools and things that are necessary for our next big trip across the pacific ocean so it can be a challenge to have everybody on board but it's fun and as long as they are flexible and willing to sleep on a tiny bed without ac and know where to put their luggage all is good oh and use composting heads and shower in a wet head yeah a lot of compromises for somebody who's used to a regular house yeah i hope i make it for your wedding thank you thank you for everything the meals the hospitality thanks for everything good to see you memories no she's gonna cry three more weeks next time i see you will be deadly oh yeah hopefully sooner sorry you got sick guys anchor she's like made it through the whole crazy sale love you see ya but it was fun yeah fun especially because my sister's about to get married and we don't know if we're gonna make it for our wedding so it's kind of we're gonna be in the middle of the ocean it's good yeah bye family love you had fun
