Today is my most anticipated leg of the journey. I am going to Monument Valley,
a place I've been wanting to go forever. It's 9 30 here in Denver. I'm a little late.
I want to get there as soon as possible. Let's go.
Because we're a little tight on time, this morning breakfast is going to be
the fruits that my mom packed me and then nuts. I feel like a squirrel or like a bear.
Fruits and nuts for breakfast. I know I said I wasn't stopping, but I spilled cashews all over
my car and I need to go to the bathroom. And so what better place than Carl's Jr., which I love.
Hardee's, Carl's Jr. I love their burgers. They don't have these in New York, so
might as well get a burger. Here's why I love Carl's Jr. First of all, I love their $6 burger.
This came out like I think over a decade ago, back when like a really expensive burger is $6.
That's why they call it a $6 burger because you could have got it for like $3 or something.
So now the $6 burger is actually $6. And it's got such a nice charbroiled taste to it. Love it.
Also, I love this place because when they open for breakfast, they serve everything on the menu.
It's not only just like a McMuffin or like a egg sandwich with ham. No, no, no. They serve
burgers. They serve anything. And that's what makes them awesome. I don't understand this.
Why do we have to eat only eggs and bacon for breakfast? Who said that? Like, come on,
McDonald's. Instead of all-day breakfast, how about an all-day Big Mac? I mean, am I the only
one who craves a nice, juicy beef burger for breakfast instead of a wimpy little sausage
biscuit? This is massive. And this is only $5. McDonald's, you can't beat this. Your Big Mac
shrunk. How did you shrink your Big Mac? Now you should just call it Mac.
About to be at the entrance of Arches National Park. Wow, look at that. There's something just
like so spiritual about these types of places, the canyons, because if you look around, a lot
of the rocks, they look like figures. They look like either animals or people. Mac Cheetos at the
Burger King. Mac Cheetos. Wow. Had to at least give this a try. Never had a Mac Cheeto. I had
them separately. Whoa. Looks like, uh, looks like Big Cheetos. Looks good. That's just simply
delicious. It tastes like a Cheeto with mac and cheese on the inside. Wow. This is like my own
version of Disneyland. I'm so excited. I'm about 15 miles away from Monument Valley. I can see it
all in the distance. And this is like, this is so breathtakingly awesome. Um, I'm stopping
outside of the highway because I want to get an overview, like a shot of the road going into
right beneath a big mound right here. Let me show you guys inside. Got my little porch,
couch, little kitchenette. I mean, it's pretty modern for being like in the middle of the desert.
Uh, let's see, bedroom. Huh. Wonder what this, this is. Oh, just like if I need a quick escape route.
Okay. Some assassins after me. Uh, this is, oh, ironing stuff. Bathroom here.
Wow. This looks actually a lot better than I imagined.
Cool. What I don't like was that on the, on the website, they said I would get a panoramic view
of Monument Valley, which I guess they didn't lie, but they also did not say that
I got like a lot of these other cabins here. Um, basically blocking my view of that.
It's around seven 30 and sunsets around, uh, eight 45, nine. Um, I'm going to get back into
my car and try to drive around and go to some places and take some shots of the sunset tomorrow.
It's gonna be really cool tomorrow. I, I signed up for a sunrise tour, which starts at five o'clock,
but the awesome thing is I'm still on East coast time. So I'm going to be waking up and I, it's
going to be like five o'clock is like seven o'clock. So it's perfect for me. I wake up at like
six o'clock on the East coast anyway. So I can get up, go on the sunrise tour, take some beautiful
photos. Hopefully today was awesome. Finally here at Monument Valley and everything's just so
beautiful. I'm talking a little weird because I just put in Invisalign aligner six out of 17
that just went in. It feels a little tight. I'm kind of worried because I'm going to Vegas tomorrow
and I'm kind of worried if it's going to make me like really hurt and won't be able to chew
properly. So we'll see tomorrow, but tomorrow I'm going through Vegas. I don't know whether
I'm going to stay in Vegas or not. One of the two options. One, I stay in Vegas. Two is I drive all
the way to this, to this place called, I can't pronounce it. San Luis something, something
California. It's like a coastal little town. Also it's crazy hot in Vegas. So I really don't want
to stay there. 110. I'm going to melt. I hate heat. Uh, but I'm going to go to bed. It's almost 11.
Going to bed. Can't wait. Tomorrow sunrise tour of Monument Valley. I'm going to take you guys there.
All right. That's it for today. See you tomorrow. Morning guys. I'm on the sunrise tour in Monument
Valley and I thought it was going to be late because I forgot the camera and I forgot my, uh,
my ticket for the tour. So I had to rush back a couple of times, but I didn't really have to worry
because I'm the only one on this tour. Yeah. So it's, uh, I don't know. I guess it's my own private
tour. It's kind of cool. Also a little awkward because it's supposed to be like a big tour. I'm
on this like wagon that seats one, two, one, two, three. So 12 people. So it's just me,
but you know what? Now I can take pictures from any seat I want.
It's my friend Leland. And, uh, he just told me about these little sumac berries and then you can,
you can eat these sort of. You can put them in your mouth and then spit them out because
apparently they have cyanide a little bit. Let's see. Chew. Just suck. Hmm. Wow. And they have some
carbohydrates a little bit. Sugar. Hmm. Nice. So if I'm ever like lost around here, I just suck on
these and maybe eat a rabbit. So I won't run around over there. Wow. Look at this. Oh, it looks like
birds or alien birds. Four legs, four legs. Yeah. And it's flying. It's well,
kind of looks like a goat too. Guys. This is a mix of petroglyphs and petrograms.
Petrograms have a little more of a story. Yeah. One more story. Look at this. So this looks like
bicycle. Those are the people I guess. And what looks like monkey. The grandmother here
is, uh, uh, the ancient Pueblans. They were, um, have you seen princess Leia's hair buns on both sides?
Yeah. They started with those. They're the ones that, they're the ones that had those.
Wow. And they, Star Wars copied that from the Pueblan people. Interesting. Yeah. So she had
sticks down the back of her hair decorated with bulbs, some kind of cotton or something.
Interesting. What do you, what do you think? Is that a monkey? This is a petrogram obviously.
Yeah. This is, you know, men are usually the ones who acknowledge their past and stuff like that.
Usually women don't draw stuff like this. So it's probably the man.
This would be maybe at different stages of seasons within this area here.
And it ended at some point here. Maybe the father and the mother together in the seasons
congruent with what he is, his started out here. They were here before.
And this may be a birthing process. This may be a different, uh, siblings.
And it's a birthing process. And it's a clan similar here.
All right. So my monkey thing was way off.
Maybe it's a first migration coming back again. How old do you think these are?
Over 2000. Wow. And this here represents, it usually represents migration circles like this.
Uh-huh. There are, of this animal here, a sheep-like animal. And they also had another
animal, which was the antelope over here. No longer here. Wow. They have been wiped out by the
drought. One thing I really want to do, I haven't done before, is actually go horseback riding along
either Grand Canyon or around here. So next time. If you guys ever get out here, definitely do the
sunrise tour. Look at that. That's breathtaking. That's going to wake you up. You don't need coffee.
Just come out here. That's going to wake you up. Sunrise.
This one looks like the dragon over here. And, uh, like I was saying, in a lot of Eastern beliefs,
um, there's sayings of these rock formations on earth that look like animals, creatures,
or people are actually reflective of the gods that are in heaven. And this is the whale right here.
So maybe that's why people, including myself, say that when we come to this part of the country
and we look at these rock formations and we feel there's something so spiritual about them.
Back from the awesome tour. I'm exhausted. Gonna go nap for a couple more hours before I hit the road.
Good night again, guys.
