The Day Neymar Impressed Michael Jordan

Kylian Mbappe completing a three-match domestic suspension tonight but Neymar of course is here. It took them more than half an hour to get back on level terms there before Angel Di Maria struck. On this occasion a much faster response. Here's Neymar back to the penalty box as well. Neymar tries again. It's a better ball that time and it's headed over the bar by Marquinhos. Very heavy challenge from the lead player Tidji Savanieh with a shove. It's not the first time that Benati is trying to dribble his way out of his own penalty box. It's set up the attack Diaby. He's unable to take part in their quarterfinal defeat for Uruguay against Diaby taking the corner this time giving it to Neymar. Coolly done, nonchalantly played by the Brazilian and Diaby's latest attempted across. Appeals for handball not even on the bench this evening. Neymar keeps that in superbly. That's with 10 players back behind the ball. One of them Aliyan Dum who was penalized for that challenge. Benati back to Rabiot managing to get the shot away. It was blocked by Marquinhos. Neymar has it again. Thomas Tuchel looking for Neymar involved in the build-up. It was his pass that Michael Jordan watching on. Neymar has already scored once from the spot in the league this season and Neymar does it again. Sends the goalkeeper the wrong way. It's a fifth league goal of the campaign for the world's most expensive player. Midway through the first half here the reigning champions find themselves in front with the bearing in mind that a lot of leading players were late coming back after the world cup. Succumbed to more fitness concerns that's why he didn't play in the first few games of the season. Didn't play against Liverpool in the champions league either because of a suspension of course carried over Diaby forward. Seem to be summoning Munier to get forward. Draxler playing in the most central position. Here he is almost at the inside left position there. Diaby offering all the width on the left wing. Neymar to move from side to side and such an exciting young player Diaby and his ball finds Neymar. Neymar bundling through. Was Neymar fouled? Didn't play any part in his country's world cup success. You do wonder Neymar on the ground again here. This time caught by Dom. He's used to that isn't he? Of course his world cup will be remembered by many mainly for his reaction to being fouled. What many saw was in between Choupo-Moting and Thilo Kehrer. Two of the new signings at Paris Saint-Germain this season. There's another foul on Neymar. Particularly brilliant world cup on the field for Neymar. He's fouled again there by Alexis Romao. This time I think the referee will reach for his pocket and it's a yellow card. Neymar pointed up towards Silva and Cavani has turned it in. Edouard Mendy the RAS goalkeeper has had something of a nightmare there. It's an absolute gift capable of going further in Europe than they have done before under the current regime. Neymar. Marco Verratti back to Neymar. Might fancy the shot here. Neymar into the arms of Edouard Mendy. He suffered that foot injury here against Marseille. Ruled him out the rest of the campaign and left him in a race against time to be fit for the world cup which best performance at the start of a top flight campaign. That came last season under Unai Emery with Neymar in the team when they won the first six games. They drew number seven away in Montpellier as Neymar sets up the chance. Must be goal number four and it's tucked in by Thomas Meunier set up by Diaby and Diaby deserves the assist. You have to say he's been such a prominent performer this evening the youngster. Well he won't get the goal, won't get the assist but he played a key part in that in Neymar and Draxler was surely hoping to get 90 minutes under his belt tonight. Neymar trying the trickery but Romao equaled to it. He's been dispossessed by Verratti though and how about that from Neymar. Brilliant, quite incredible from the Brazilian. From Neymar and this is quite sensational that and another turn there. Boof away from Romao and from Edom. If they can win at the weekend. Neymar surely fancies a goal from open play. Attempted ball in head to Cavani and the substitute Nkunku in the middle. Neymar on the ball again. He's certainly found his mojo again. Confirmation of the extent to which the home team are in control of this game. Alexis Romao has been a difficult customer for Neymar this evening. He's run into trouble. Thiago Silva with the interception. Neymar dancing on the edge of the penalty box. Neymar nicely done by the Brazilian at home against Lyon. A different prospect to a trip to the Groupama Stadium. Marquinhos coming away with the ball. Neymar looking to feed Diaby. Paris Saint-Germain tonight. Three for the away side. Here's the time for some more. Neymar Neymar again. He's fouled again. It is Neymar to take it and it's a good save by Mendy. Neymar again slipping Cavani through and Cavani for his hat trick is off the bar. Neymar slipping it through to Edinson Cavani. Mendy came out to meet him.
