USA vs Australia 5 - 3 All Goals & Highlights | April 4, 2019

Packed and organized, and Lindsey Hrant, good news for the U.S., 100% back in action. She was missed, she brings so much balance to this midfield. And up top, this trio, their chemistry, they're having so much fun and playing so good together. It's just this fourth game in charge. Christy, what gives a lot of time? Yes, the Matildas starting lineup tonight is heavy with NWSL experience, starting at a 4-2-3-1. I would look for the outside back, Simon. Team of the United States of America. Sponsored by Volkswagen, the presenting partner of U.S. Soccer Weekend. It's an all Concacaf-based crew. Megan Rapinoe, captain's arm. We are underway. Played back by Morgan. She's going for this ball, cutting inside, and then went down, trying to draw the call, and did not. But the danger of Australia, we see it, Allie, in the first half minute. Yeah, and it starts with Caitlin Ford popping underneath Kerr. Those two have an offense. Good test for Sonnet, and she comes through, played it in front. Cleared away, U.S. will have their first corner. U.S.A., their second. By Australia, it's coming back into the box. Morgan is looking for it, wrong side. Sonnet, driving it, Williams up her line, pushed it away. Short U.S.A. corner, done, floating one up. And that's too far wide for Lindstrom. Over the top, Heath. Looking at a smaller field tonight. Numbers, Heath across, Lavelle. Taken away by Bulls, it'll go against the U.S. Savannah Central and Sens went in, but it's right to them. That benefits Australia over the end. End line, Morgan played it across, nice. That was a big one by Williams. Megan cutting, end line. Driven by Rapinoe. Going into that one. From Australia. Megan Rapinoe and Carpenter. But Ante Milicic has been communicating. Lifting it in. Pushed away for good, way out. Sending one up there, knotted down for Heath. The default is to not cut it close if you're Rapinoe. Savannah, throw in, and now she'll give it up to a teammate. Rapinoe in the box. Right to Williams. Leading it, Lisa Savannah, inside the box. Savannah fires it. Just like that, Ali on the counter. Wednesday in the pregame. What did Jill Ellis tell us yesterday? They have to be wary of the Australian transition game. Well, they feasted in this moment. Heath. Kept it in, played it back. Saved the day. Tied it for Australia. An inviting ball in. He's had two pretty good looks here. Especially for a goal scorer like Sam Kerr. Drives in. Couldn't find it. LaBelle was shot. The shot is deflected. Shows you the skill of why she's so dangerous. And she can be quiet. She'll take it. And puts that one over. Almost an error. Catching it. But she almost scored. That should be it. That is it. Come to a close. Exciting. Kerr has some chances but could not connect. Alex Morgan with a 100. It's been a good first half. Let's see what the second half brings. Savannah was open on the left. Into the box. And she scores. Up the middle. She wins. So many of the opponents of the United States have done this season. Or this year, I should say. For Dino. The U.S. tries to get themselves level. Into the box. That's 2-4-6. Pushed away by Kennedy. Miller-Chich is starting to understand, I think, the profile of his players. Settle there. Saw it. Outside of the box. Feeling it. She does. Five minutes first. And as you said, JP closed the match out. Press getting ready to come into the game. Wide. To that cap. Goes to ground. Right there. When Australia is taking goal kicks, that's when they've been vulnerable. Big assist on the goal by Mallory. It falls. I look like the fifth. 1-1 at the moment. Sending it across. Williams. Lifted up. Australia is back with Kerr's first against the U.S. 4-3. He's ready. Puts one up. Second ball. It's cute. Swinger. Williams going up for it. It bounces free. Finger chase. 88th minute. Three, but they scored five.
