If you could suddenly pack your bags and book a flight and go anywhere,
how would you choose where you go?
Would you look up best vacation spots on Google?
Ask a friend, maybe?
Or figure out where the best hotels are and stay by the pool all week?
See, to us, that all sounds a little too comfortable.
Because traveling, if done in a real and raw way,
can help break stereotypes and make you realize
just how similar we all are around the world.
So, in order to truly discover a new place
and see where an adventure in an unknown destination could take us,
Matt and I decided to throw a dart at a map of the U.S.
and spend our next 24 hours wherever it lands.
On top of that, to push ourselves to meet locals wherever we land,
Ammar created a list of 10 challenges
for us to choose two from at random and accomplish.
Time to see where we're going.
Our weekends and our lives for the next two days
are going to be determined by this freaking thing.
Do you understand that a dart is going to control our lives for the weekend?
You sure you want to spend the weekend with this guy?
Want to flip a coin?
Heads is me.
All right, relax.
Want to flip a coin to see who gets to throw the dart?
I'm at heads.
Relax.
It's Matt and Pooh.
Oh my god, it's Matt.
The fate of Thomas Bragg and Matt DeHeron lie in these hands.
Can you see anything?
Nope, just darkness.
All right, keep your eyes closed, my son.
You're gonna face that way.
Really hard.
Pick something warm.
Please, not something freezing.
I can't pick.
Three, two...
Oh my god.
St. Joseph, Missouri?
What's in Missouri?
How are you saying Missouri right now?
Missouri?
Missouri.
What is it?
It sounds like it's somewhere in Italy now.
Mizzurri.
I know it's a Mizzurri.
Margheriti.
What are we gonna do in St. Joseph, Missouri?
All right, booking the tickets.
We leave tomorrow at 1 p.m.
We land at 6 20 p.m. in Kansas City.
We have to take a car, drive an hour to St. Joseph.
I guess we're going to freaking Missouri then.
All right, St. Joseph.
Here we come.
In Joseph, Mizzurri.
Mizzurri.
Good evening.
Hello there.
Thank you.
How far is St. Joseph?
An hour away.
An hour-long drive?
Yeah.
All right, well, road montage.
We took this car service where you rent people's cars,
and the lady invited us to Bible talk.
I think we should go.
But Thomas is afraid.
This is the whole point.
We're supposed to experience what it's like to be out here.
What better way than to be with a local on a Friday?
All right, we'll do it.
Oh, I see.
That would be out of your comfort zone.
Amazing.
Right.
I've never been to Bible talk.
What is it?
You're just talking about the Bible?
Didn't think you'd be doing this, did you?
No.
Bible talk in Missouri.
Whoever thought that is how our experience here would start.
It's amazing.
Thomas, you seem a little bit off.
What's going on?
No, I'm...
Yeah, let's go to Bible talk.
I've never been this deep into America in my entire life like that.
You feel uncomfortable?
Yeah, this is weird.
She said in this part of town,
a lot of people like to shoot guns and drive pickup trucks.
So I'll fit right in.
We stopped to pick up some dessert for joining the Bible talk.
We got some cake, some chips.
This is so funny.
This is what happens when you say yes, guys.
Seriously, this is a yes theory in action.
You missed the race.
You missed the relay.
Okay, do you believe what's happening?
Well, I've been scouted to join a relay race.
Okay, pick a number one through ten.
One through ten, eight.
So he's on our team.
Cool, I'm with him.
Sweet.
I'm ready.
I got one of the toughest contenders in the game.
Ready to go.
Whoa.
Oh.
It was her.
Yes.
Winning.
Nice work.
Yeah, killed it.
Heavenly Father, just thank you for bringing us here today.
I just show your love to Thomas and Matt.
Father God, I just ask to open up their heart and their mind to see you, Father God,
and just to see what you are all about through our actions and through our love, Father God.
In Jesus' name, we say.
Thank you so much.
All right, dinner is served.
Got a full plate.
Look at that.
All right, so to cap the night off here, we're going to have s'mores at this fire.
It's a pretty good start to our stay in Missouri.
Wow, look at this.
You're going to burn yours, Matt.
You're a little low.
Matt, I told you you were going to burn it.
Those still taste delicious.
I want to talk a little bit about opportunity.
The Bible is full of opportunities.
In Noah, he had one chance to save mankind.
He was successful, right?
He ignored all the people who said, you're a fool to make a boat in the desert.
A great opportunity God gave us.
God loves us.
Jesus loves us.
Thank you so much.
Good to meet you guys.
Yeah, good to meet you too, Virgil.
And the woman that looks all here.
Perfect, beautiful.
All right.
I was literally expecting just all like white people.
And it was a very diverse group.
You're in the right mindset.
Things just kind of work out.
What an adventure already.
St. Joseph, here we come.
Just pulled into St. Joseph.
Is there a town at all?
Or right now it's looking like it's strictly hotels and a bank and a restaurant.
We're going to be home for the next two days.
It's not bad.
All right, Thomas.
Time has come.
We have no idea what to say.
We have to accomplish two of them within the day tomorrow.
Okay, you point at one.
That one?
Yeah.
Oh my God.
Throw a bar party and bring together at least 10 strangers.
Oh, how do we find 10 strangers?
Is there even a city here?
All right, which one?
One closest to your crotch.
Get on a local radio or TV station.
This is a perfect opportunity.
You go on the local radio and you tell people we're throwing a party.
Hopefully more than 10 strangers show up.
We have to start from literally 9 a.m. and just don't stop.
It's going to be an action-packed day tomorrow.
St. Joseph, you have no idea what's coming.
All right, it is currently 10.17 in the morning.
We're about to start the tasks.
Let's do a radio or TV station first.
Sound one.
It's like right next to us.
Are they calling us?
What do I say?
I don't know.
We want to be on the radio.
Is it closed on Saturdays?
I'll try to line up a couple others.
Almost every single radio station in St. Joseph is religious, Christian, contemporary.
A lot of these radio stations look closed on Saturdays.
Thanks, Ammar, for the great challenge.
Hi, who's this?
Yes, you called me?
Ah, yes, my name is Matt.
This is a very, very strange request.
My friend and I are traveling here from Los Angeles.
We've thrown a dart on a map, and we had to go wherever it landed.
Our friend challenged us to be able to get on a radio station.
We would love to attend and just talk to you about what you do.
That would be amazing.
I don't know if that's possible, but...
Yep.
If possible, yes.
Any time today, even for like literally 10 seconds.
I mean, ideally more, if possible, but...
Okay, amazing.
My Spanish is okay, so I'll just have to talk a little slower.
I think we just landed on a religious Spanish radio station in Missouri.
This is not what I thought I'd be doing this weekend.
I challenge you to St. Mitsuri on radio.
That's the address.
This?
That's the address?
I don't think so.
We're literally in the middle of nowhere.
You sure this is it?
Hey!
Hey, what's up, dude?
It's a new one, a radio station for church.
This is the radio station.
Wow, so we're gonna be on TV and radio at the same time.
I love this DIY radio station.
He's from Puerto Rico.
He's been here for four years.
Apparently, there's this huge Puerto Rican community in Kansas and Missouri.
I was like, do you have Spanish speakers here?
I was like, yeah, dude, tons.
Amazing.
All right, let's do it.
What are you gonna talk about?
I have no idea.
I hope I can keep up.
They distribute this to Puerto Rico, El Salvador.
It's not just Missouri and Kansas.
You'll never discover a place like this if you didn't try.
Like a little house like this, you never think there's a freaking radio station.
We had an amazing Puerto Rican radio interview here.
This is what I love about what we do.
This dude is hilarious.
Yeah, he's amazing.
He's so happy.
If you're ever in a small town, we challenge you to try to get on the radio as well.
If they ask you why, just say, yes, Theory sent you.
I came here reserted with my friend Thomas, and we had no idea how we were going to get
on a radio or TV station.
But once you actually believe that you can, you actually put in the effort,
and that's how it actually happens.
And then you end up on a Spanish radio station in Missouri.
Yeah, anything is possible.
All right.
Good?
Yeah.
Good job.
Thanks.
We did it.
Being on local radio, check.
Okay.
It was tiring speaking Spanish for like an hour.
I was like, I can be on for five minutes.
The guy was like, let's do an interview.
And I was on for like an hour.
Let's find some strangers, and let's find a bar.
This doesn't seem to be too popping.
It feels like going back in time.
It's not much anywhere.
Everything is abandoned.
Asking strangers is a little more complicated here, it seems like,
because there are no strangers.
This is the first time where the challenge isn't convincing people, but finding people.
There's a bunch of universities here.
Missouri Western State University.
So we're going to drive to that campus and see if we can find people our age around.
This looks empty.
Is there anybody in this town?
Where have the people gone?
Why?
Apparently in this street with a bunch of bars.
Let's see if we get lucky with any like early happy hour boys.
I mean boys and girls.
Good old happy hour boys.
God damn it.
Don't edit that today.
You have no...
The mall.
And this mall is pretty much empty.
I think Joseph is popping yo.
I don't know anybody here.
The challenge is to find 10 strangers coming out with us tonight to like a bar restaurant.
I'm not getting any bars.
I'm 17.
Oh, you're 17?
Yeah.
Wow.
And our friend challenged us to host a strangers party of 10 people.
I don't know if you guys are doing anything tonight.
Are you willing to join us?
It's up to you.
What do you think?
I don't know.
Sure.
Yeah?
Okay, amazing.
I'll take it down to your number.
You're nervous at first, but everybody's so kind.
You should have picked it up.
People are so hesitant.
The second you tell them you threw a dart on a map and landed in St. Joseph,
they're like, oh my God.
That is true.
All right, the sun is setting.
We have managed to speak to a total of five strangers our age that are down to do something.
Not a 10 yet.
So we're going to try tonight to put together 10 people that I've just never met.
Maybe in a dance circle.
Maybe in a karaoke.
We're going to hit up Peter, Caden, and then see where the night takes us.
What up?
Let the night begin.
Let the night begin!
Well, we're starting with two.
Eight more.
We're going to find them.
So
my challenge for tonight was to meet 10 strangers that I've never met before
and become friends with 10 strangers from here.
My number is six.
So I need seven, eight, nine, ten.
