Look at, it's so beautiful, I just can't.
Good morning, it is our last and final day at Angkor Wat.
We spent two days here and it's been amazing.
We figured out which three temples
we're gonna visit today.
So we're gonna optimize our time at those three.
However, Leah's feeling a little under the weather.
I am so tired from climbing up steps all day
for the past two days that I don't know
how I'm gonna get through this day.
But this is our last day here in Angkor Wat
and we have to make the most of it.
So for us, we're...
So.
We made it.
It's about 6.45 in the morning.
We are here at Angkor Wat.
And we're trying to run to the top of the temple
before it gets too crowded.
Yes.
So that's the reason we came here so early in the morning.
Yes.
He's naked, but I'm so tired.
We ran really far and we got here in time.
I think we only got here 30 minutes after it opens
and we were able to get in line.
That was only five minutes.
Normally, it's almost an hour.
So we did it.
They let me in this time
because I was wearing the appropriate skirt.
We made it to the top.
We're at the top of Angkor Wat right now.
So get ready for some B-roll.
Okay, so that was amazing.
We just went to the top.
Not the top of this one, but the top of those two.
And it was just so inspiring.
It's so old.
One of the seven wonders of the world.
We're here on our third day and we finally did it.
And the history is just interesting.
Angkor Wat was built,
they think, in the Roman era.
It was first kind of discovered
by a Portuguese explorer in 1585
and then rediscovered by a Frenchman
who did a better job of explaining the architecture
and how beautiful it was.
So that sparked a lot of interest by Western powers.
It's built in all sandstone.
It's in the Khmer style.
And what's interesting about this place
is that when archeologists came to explore it,
they couldn't find any artifacts
that you'd normally find,
like pots or utensils or clothing.
Like vases.
Yeah, vases, things that would suggest
that people really lived here.
So this really is and was just a temple.
It's like a church.
It's a religious monument.
Only for religious use.
And I still can't get over these steps.
They're like so small.
They're like this wide and this tall.
It makes no sense.
How were feet so small back then?
But yet their legs were really big.
That wouldn't fit.
Oh no, here they come.
This is why you get here early.
Oh my goodness, another one.
I like the matching shirts.
Each group's like 50 people.
We've seen eight come in in the last minute.
Now we're at number two on our stop
and this is actually my favorite.
I've visited both Angkor Wat and the Bayon.
Did I say it before?
And this one is just so much more intricate
and more detailed and I just appreciate this one a lot more.
I think my favorite part about the Bayon
is that everyone loves the faces,
which don't get me wrong, I do too.
Oh, there's some bats.
Oh my gosh.
Everyone loves the faces,
which don't get me wrong, I do too.
But it's the ability to walk all around this place
underneath it by yourself.
There's no one here.
I just love how this one's so untouched.
There's like bat droppings everywhere.
Man, I don't love that part.
But just that the bats can live here
without being intimidated by all the people.
Like I don't think this could actually happen
at Angkor Wat.
Wow.
Finally, I'm at this place.
Looks exactly the same from every side
because it's symmetrical.
So I've been walking for a while.
Don't know how long it's gonna take.
I think this is the one.
There she is.
So tired.
Okay, it's confirmed.
This temple is definitely my favorite.
Should not miss this on your visit to Angkor Wat.
It's amazing.
Look at, it's so beautiful.
I just can't.
Ugh.
So intricate.
So many levels.
So many faces.
It's the symbol of many faces from Game of Thrones.
So this next one we're going to
is a cross from the Bayon.
And it's called the, like, Bafon.
It's kind of spelled like buffoon.
Okay.
But it's nothing.
Bafon.
French.
And apparently it was built by
one of the kings for his daughter.
I guess for her wedding.
But I couldn't remember exactly what he said.
Or kind of understand.
So, we are here.
And we're going to go see this one.
And there's the monkey.
Bafon.
What's up, tired man?
Who knows how to eat corn?
I think he's watched people.
Just grabbing up, trying to respect the culture.
This week has been a dream.
And this is our last and final temple.
So I'm just gonna enjoy it.
There's Leah.
I'm here.
But I think that I got all the memories I can handle.
And I'm not templed out.
It's actually because Leah's sick.
But, that's amazing.
So now, we're on the way to go get Leah some lunch.
And hopefully this will make her not feel as bad.
Gonna miss these cicadas.
I don't think you guys realize.
It is deafening.
It's like at a pitch that my ears are like, ah!
They're the first thing to greet us when we get here.
And the last thing to say goodbye.
So it's definitely a part of this place.
But, it is loud.
Okay, so Leah mustered up enough strength
to go to the last one.
I'm fading.
Which is the elephant.
Yeah, but it has all these carvings
you can see in the back.
There's huge ones of elephants.
They're really, really good.
And they're like, somehow, still here.
