8 Reasons to Buy the Fitbit Charge 3

Hey guys, Wayne here from Tech Made Easy. Today I'm going to be going over eight reasons why you should buy the Fitbit Charge 3. Let's jump right in. I'm going to give you a little bit of context to this video. So I previously had the Fitbit Alta and you know what, I wanted a little bit more and I started looking into this device and I've been extremely happy with it. And I'm going to tell you some of the reasons why I love it and some of the reasons why I think you'll love it as well. So the first thing is going to be, again, coming from the Fitbit Alta, you're actually getting a larger screen and you're getting a touch screen now. So you're actually able to swipe up, swipe down to kind of go through the menu and you're able to do a lot more with it than what you could previously do with the other versions. Like on the Alta, for example, like when you tap the screen, that was how you got it to change. Now you can do a little bit more with the touch button. So that's going to be our first reason. The second reason is going to be the heart rate monitor. So on the back, it is always checking your heart rate. So you've got more accurate tracking for your workouts, which is great because obviously like if you want to maximize on a workout, the higher your heart rate is, the more calories you're burning and the more oxygen that's pumping. So just having that heart rate monitor has definitely been a game changer and allowed me to take my workouts to the next level. So I love that. The third thing is going to be the battery life. So I get on average about five to seven days of battery life and I work out about three or four times a week. So it's great to not have to worry about charging this thing all the time. I can wear it again during almost a whole week and it'll obviously let you know when the battery gets low, you plug it up, charging is really quick. So I just love that unlike an Apple Watch or a Samsung Gear Watch, which are great devices but you do have to charge them every other day. Whereas this thing, you can throw it on your wrist and not think about it for almost a week. So I love that. The third, excuse me, the fourth reason is going to be you have notifications now that are going to pop up from your phone. So you can actually link it with your phone and you can get text messages so you can actually have it show you text. In fact, if I swipe down here, I'm just going to tap the screen and swipe down, I have a text message right here that someone sent me and it's great to be able to check things without having to grab your phone. So great when you're in meetings or in class or whatever. You have that smartwatch capability, although it's not a smartwatch, but they're adding so much more of that same capability that you don't necessarily need a smartwatch because you can get all that on your Charge 3. So I can read text messages, I can get app alerts, I can also read emails as well. So if I get new emails, I can get them to pop up. So I definitely love that. Also when someone calls you, you're actually able to accept the call or reject the call from the screen as well. So basically when a call comes in, you swipe up and you can either hit a check and it'll pick up the call on your phone or you can hit an X and then it will decline the call. So it's cool to be able to do that again without having to reach for your phone. So great feature there. Again, they're adding a lot of those smartwatch capabilities to it, but it's not a smartwatch. I love that, just the simplicity of the device with advanced features. Our number five reason is going to be, you've got some really cool workout tools in here. So they've got some pre-selected exercises, so you can tap on exercise and for example, you can tell it, hey, I'm going to run, I'm going to swim, I'm going to bike. And then the tracking is more accurate because it's specific to what you're doing. So I definitely love that. And you've got some other tools in here, like I love to use the timer. So I can just go over here and I can set a workout timer, I'm going to work out for 45 minutes, or I can set an alarm or I can even, if I go on the timer, I can also set a stopwatch as well. So you've got some options, things that you want or that would be helpful during a workout or maybe if you're not even a workout person. These are still tools you can use. Like sometimes I use the timer as a cooking timer. If I have something in the oven, I'll just put it on my wrist so that I know my wrist will vibrate when it's done. So it's just great to have those little tools there. Our number six reason is going to be the price. So this does come in at $149.99 and actually I got mine for $119 because I bought it on a holiday weekend. So if you are thinking about getting one of these, I definitely encourage you to try to time it around a holiday because Fitbit always runs deals. In the description of the video, I will leave a link to where you can buy one through Amazon. And again, sometimes Amazon has deals as well. So it's just about, you know, if you don't need it exactly right now, try to time it around a holiday. If not, $149.99 is still a lot lower than the starting point for a lot of the smart watches that have a lot of the same features. So I just love the price and I think it's, you know, you get a lot for that $149 and for me $119 obviously. The number seven reason is going to be that it's waterproof up to 50 meters. So for those of you that like to swim, you can wear it while you swim. And also guess what? You don't have to take it off when you're going to go into the pool or excuse me, not the pool. When you're ready to take your shower, you don't have to take it off because it's waterproof. So you can keep it on and not have to worry about, you know, it having any issues. So I love that, you know, not thinking about, oh, is he going to mess up? No, it's fully waterproof. It's ready to handle that water. So that's great. And the number eight reason is going to be the ability to customize it. So there are a ton of custom watch bands you can get. So this is probably as basic as it gets, this black band that comes with it. But if you go on Amazon, there are just tons of bands you can get that are, you know, under 10 bucks. So very reasonable prices to get, you know, whatever color or style that's going to fit you and make it unique to you. So I'll leave a link as well to some really cool watch bands as well for those of you that already have one and you're just looking for, you know, a nicer band.
