If we’ve learned one thing with the success of YouTube and the popularity of vloggers, it’s that viewers love to watch families grow – just do a quick search for the likes of the Ace Family, the LaBrant Family, or even Roman Atwood and take a look at not only their millions of views but millions of subscribers as well. One other such family is the MJ clan which consists of parents Funny Mike (whose real name is MacArthur Johnson) and Jaliyah Monet who live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and, with the help of their kids, London and MJ, create a whole bunch of prank videos, confessionals, as well as a ton of family content. If we've learned one thing with the success of YouTube and the popularity of vloggers
it's that viewers love to watch families grow.
Just do a quick search for the likes of the Ace family, the Lebrant family, or even Roman
Atwood and take a look at not only their millions of views, but millions of subscribers as well.
One other such family is the MJ clan which consists of parents Funny Mike, whose real
name is MacArthur Johnson, and Julia Monet who live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and with
the help of their kids London and MJ, create a whole bunch of prank videos, confessionals,
as well as a ton of family content.
They've also featured an inside look at their home on the channel and today we're
checking it out.
In these videos we don't reveal any addresses and even though I've done a house tour of
my own place, please do not show up at any private residences because it's not safe
for anyone.
Funny Mike created his own YouTube channel in 2016 and quickly made a career for himself
with some stellar comedy bits before undertaking a bit of a swerve.
He decided to extend his brand by starting a family vlog channel with Julia in 2017.
Ever since then, the MJ family channel has grown by leaps and bounds, and at the time
of this recording, they have more than 3 million subscribers and a total of more than 285 million
views.
When this couple isn't busy breaking up every three months or so to keep their fans
on their toes, they post the type of content that they know keeps their audience coming
back for more, like a recent look at a brand new luxury house they moved into at the end
of last year.
But just how luxurious is it?
Is it really worth the 20 million dollars they say it is?
With the family's estimated net worth of around 3-5 million, buying a house 4 times
that amount would be a big investment indeed.
So let's see.
How's it going guys?
It's your girl Kara here for you with a brand new house tour, this one taking a look
at the luxury home that Funny Mike and his family have recently moved into.
I'm also going to give you a sneak peek at a new studio Mike has been working on in
his spare time, so if you're a fan of his hilarious content, be sure to stick around
to the end.
Don't forget to follow me on Instagram to chat, and now let's get into this video.
Before we dive head first into a tour of the house, let's just take a quick look at what
the thumbnail of Jillian Mike's new house tour video tells us.
According to this parcel of information, the home is a luxury mansion that cost them 20
million dollars to secure.
But if we take a closer look at the video, one thing becomes clear pretty quickly.
The house they use as an image on the thumbnail isn't the same one they actually bought.
Now that doesn't necessarily mean that the home they're living in isn't worth how much
they say it is, but let's not pretend like clickbait isn't a thing in the world of YouTube.
For most, it's a way to stand apart from the pack.
Now let's check this place out and see if that number still manages to hold up.
Beginning with what Funny Mike and Jillian believe is the nicest part of their home,
let's take a look at the backyard.
You wouldn't be able to classify the home as luxury if it didn't at least come with
a pool, and Mike and Jillian have something even better than that.
Their backyard comes fully stocked with not only a jacuzzi, but a heated pool.
And taking a warm dip in a pool is always better than a cold one.
Towards the back of the pool, they also have a pretty stylish waterfall that I gotta admit
does add a touch of class to the overall aesthetic.
But whether or not Kirk came with the house or not, I'm less sure about.
Off to the side of the pool area, the family has an outdoor kitchen that comes fully stocked
with a stainless steel barbecue, and plenty of counter space for preparing some epic outdoor
family dinners when the weather is nice.
Through a pair of nearby doors, the outdoor kitchen connects to the family's living room.
That is enough wall space for two 50 plus inch televisions, separate from the pool,
separated by a large fireplace set into the wall.
At least it will once Mike finishes getting it all set up.
The living room is also connected to the kitchen in one large open concept area.
And just in case you're wondering, don't worry the MJ family has more than enough groceries
to fill their ample amounts of cupboard space.
My guess for how much all those groceries cost?
At least a grand.
Maybe double.
I'd say they're gonna need a bigger kitchen, but that probably isn't true.
When everything isn't buried under an avalanche of food, you can spot some top of the line
appliances in there, including some pretty nice looking backsplash.
Through a door to the side of the living room is a space that would be perfect for a home
office, with large windows to make sure you're getting the necessary sunlight during those
endless stretches of video editing.
This home also has its own dedicated room for laundry, and to be honest, it's a lot
bigger than most others I've seen.
But if you're looking for a washer and dryer, maybe keep looking.
A two car garage is accessible just off the laundry room, and is actually one of two garage
spaces that the home comes equipped with.
A stone's throw away from there is the area of the house that might very well get the
most amount of use once the family is settled in.
I'm talking of course about the wet bar.
Directly across from the bar is the formal dining room which might be the most visually
exciting room in the house, with a spectacular chandelier hanging above their glass table,
directly from India or Egypt.
One of those two countries, the family's not quite sure which.
I'm sure they'll figure it out eventually.
Either way, both chandeliers definitely add a touch of luxury to the home.
That second chandelier is part of what the family likes to call their formal living room,
and as you can see, it also has a fireplace with marble finishing set into the wall, underneath
a portrait of Mike and Jalea.
The master suite is located on the ground floor and comes with beige carpeted floors,
white cabinetry, a giant flat screen television in the wall, as well as a glass fireplace
to keep warm during the winter, and a large ceiling fan to cool things down during warm
summer nights.
Towards the back of the room are some stylish slatted doors that lead back to the pool area,
and no master suite would be complete without the nicest of bathrooms.
Their gigantic washroom has a jacuzzi tub and glass door shower, as well as a ton of
gorgeous stone finishing.
It's also got two separate vanity mirrors just in case these two don't feel like being
in close quarters early in the morning.
Just off the bathroom is a short hallway that leads into Jalea's own personal walk in
closet with absolute oodles of space.
You get upstairs by a carpeted winding staircase located just off to the side of the wet bar
area.
But whether they're going to keep the carpet is another question altogether.
Upstairs you'll find three more bedrooms including their baby daughter's room with
an extra cool built in storage space that could probably be turned into a bunk bed situation
for when she's a little bit older.
You can access the bedroom next to hers through a double sided bathroom that connects both
kids rooms and features way more space than these children could possibly need.
The final room upstairs overlooks the backyard and is going to be turned into the family
game room once everything is unpacked.
Before we head out, let's just take a peek at the front of the house that has enough
room to park 3 or 4 of the family's cars including Mike's killer Lambo.
Now as nice as that house is, it's not the only upgrade that Funny Mike has made lately.
A quick glance at his social media feeds have also given us a glimpse of a brand new studio
space that he's in the middle of renovating to take his trademarked brand of comedy content
to a whole nother level.
According to these social posts, Mike is calling this gigantic place the Playhouse, and it's
basically an empty warehouse with enough room to set up what looks like a regulation sized
basketball court alongside what is basically a full sized house that Mike is in the middle
of constructing to facilitate his creative ambitions.
Upstairs is a whole bunch of empty rooms right now with some overhead LED lighting, but if
you take one look, your imagination can probably do the rest of the heavy lifting.
When things are a little more finished, maybe we'll check back on this setup and give you
guys an updated look at all of Mike's hard work.
Personally, I can't wait to see what kind of cool ideas he comes up with for this space
to keep us all laughing.
Alright guys, I think we'll bring this house tour to an end right here.
What did you guys think of the MJ Family's new digs?
Do you guys really think that home is worth 20 million dollars?
Personally, I gotta admit that I have my doubts.
Don't get me wrong, the house is amazing, but 20 million?
That's kinda extreme.
Sound off on what you guys think in the comments down below.
Don't forget to follow me on Instagram and I will see you all next time.
Bye!
